Hello Bitcointalk. I recently closed down my medium sized mining operation and now I'm about to start looking for a real job. I plan on posting on the job search engines like monster and government sites, but I figured maybe I should post here first due to my experience. I'm located in the Baltimore area and I built the rigs, designed the systems (carpentry, electrical, cooling, networking) and maintained them for my mining farm. I had 45 rigs (315 cards total) and 45 ASICs running. Unfortunately, my investor decided it wasn't worth doing anymore, so we had to shut down the operation.
So now I'm looking for something else. Aside from the mining experience, I have a Master's degree in Government (Homeland Security and Counter-Terrorism), military experience (infantry), and work experience in management, security, and IT. The problem is I don't really know what I want to do or what types of jobs I should be looking for. I'm basically going to start looking for a sys admin or upper tier helpdesk job.
Are there any jobs that mining would translate into well? Or is anyone here looking for a skilled mining admin? Let me know!

everyone tries to make their own as people posted above, but most are half-assed imo
yiimps is as good as USERS make it, use "stats" as a password argument with ccminer to automatically submit your stats!

YES!!! that's it, thank you! I felt like i was going crazy!! although i guess it doesn't have keccak just keccakc, so "-p stats" only works with yiimp pools then?

If you were looking for a cryptonight-based calculator that lets you do just that, then maybe you were referring to (https://cryptunit.com)
Some have reported inconsistencies with how cryptunit reports profitability but i really do like the website because of it's interactivity and the summary statistics charts. Could be really helpful if you are a cryptonight-oriented miner.

Again i'm not looking for profitability charts but overclock charts. Seeing people's hash rate for various algorithm's at various overclocks. Thanks for the replies though!

Thanks for the reply but I'm looking for a site similar to those ones I listed above. It had like 10 different columns and was interactive. It has users submit their gpu/core freq/mem freq/algorithm/power usage/hash rate. And you could sort the columns and search as well.

the one I'm looking for had a chart/table format so you can select 1080ti for example and then lyra2rev2 or keccak or dagger.. whatever you want, and had people post their core and mem overclocks and hashrates

I remember seeing this one site that had a huge database of user inputted hashrates/overlocks/etc. It was black text on a white background and interactive buttons... it looked something like gpulister.com, gpustats.com, miningspeed.com, and miningchamp.com but it had a lot more entries (it had everything like keccak, etc). anyone know what i'm talking about?
Comparison of last 3 Asrock h81 PRO BTC 2.0 BIOS (strange behavior)
Hello everyone. I'm planning on sending this post to Asrock as well, but I wanted to post here as well to see if anyone has a similar experience.
BIOS 1.20 (2014/7/28) is the BIOS that comes with the board. It's fine but does not support Above 4G decoding and of course it's old, so doesn't contain the microcode patches that the newer ones do. It also has this MOLEX warning splash screen when you install more than 2 cards that you can bypass with a keypress. It is the newer style UEFI type of BIOS that is found in most motherboards nowadays.
BIOS 1.30B (2018/2/27) is the second BIOS update for this board. This is the one I've been using for a few months now and it's been great. It does support Above 4G decoding, and has no splash screen, even if you install more than 2 cards, but the strange thing is that it uses the older BIOS style screen and not the more modern UEFI style screens. This is the BIOS I'll continue to use for now.
BIOS 1.40 (2018/5/21) is the latest BIOS update for this board and has some very peculiar behavior. The release notes signify "Update CPU Microcode", however it does not support above 4G decoding (just like 1.20), has the newer style UEFI screen (just like 1.20), and has that MOLEX warning splash screen when you install more than 2 cards (just like 1.20). The only problem is that you can't bypass the splash screen when you have more than 2 cards installed.

can someone ban this guy? as far as lyra goes.. i'm having success with ccminer-KlausT-v8.21 but i haven't done much testing.. Apparently tpruvot supports CUDA 9 but i'm not sure if that version has been added to SMOS yet. It's listed as either ccminer-tpruvot-v2.2.5-cuda8.0 or ccminer-tpruvot-v2.2.5-x16s-cuda8.0 in the rig groups.

hey guys i have this weird bug with one of my rigs.. i have 2 cards hooked up to desktop psu (along with mobo) and 6 more hooked up to server psu. after about an hour the other 6 will drop off... but it only happens on that particular rig, my other ones are fine
just figured i'd comment on my own post in case anyone was having the same issue. i think i figured it out
setup: desktop PSU -> motherboard + two cards and the two corresponding risers (using SATA cables), server PSU -> the other 6 cards and corresponding risers.
so what i did was split the two desktop PSU pcie cables into two with adapters, then i used each cable on one GPU + corresponding riser, so i turned those 2 into four. then my PSU also has 6 SATA cables, i used those for the remaining risers. so now all of my risers are hooked up to my desktop PSU and it seems to be working fine. none of my other rigs had this issue though

you didn't follow the instructions. First you will have to install all the requirements with `python -m pip install -r requirements` and then start the app. The trailing dollar sign ($) is unnecessary.

and have you tried reaching out to ASUS to discuss a possible fix?
They have known before they created the motherboard, this is a mining motherboard, they can say only mining cards and you can't sue them, end of discussion, there is no fix unless a competitor comes and offers real 19 gaming gpus then they will release a bios that supports all 19 gaming gpus, this is about competition and it seems all other manufactures are offering only 13 gaming gpus. Call it a manufacture's mafia.

I said countless of times IT IS a bios limitation.
It is ment for mining. No display output. And only a few months warranty.
well i know that but my question is why does the board itself care what kind of cards you install? shouldn't it be the OS/drivers that care?
video cards probably tell the bios they need specific resources (irq, i/o and memory ranges) to display video. mining cards do not need those all resources and dont ask for them. since there are only so many resources available to a bios there will be an upper limit for pure video cards.
at least that my guess.

it looks like almost everyone with this board is running a combination of amd and nvidia cards? any reason not to do all amd or all nvidia? is anyone using simplemining? are all 3 molex/ATX connectors necessary? i have a server psu with a breakout board and i'm still playing with various mobo/cpu/card combinations trying to find the ideal one. having a lot of issues with the asrock h81 pro btc 2.0 and simplemining :/
I'm running on 2 13 gpu nvidia rigs using this mobo without any problems....only problem i have is the heat
I find it easier to not mix amd and nvidia to be honest with you..i have some experience with about other motherboards but i always prefer to keep the gpus the same brand/style. evga 1060, pny 1080ti, msi 580. it makes it not only easier for bookkeeping for troubleshooting as well. i was just wondering why so many people were mixing gpus with this thing? i just setup this board about 10 minutes ago with 6 pny 1060 6gb, i'm about to go try to add 6 more.
have you tried getting more than 13 gpus on this thing?
edit: got 12 running fine, gonna try to do 16 on monday
And there is no need to keep with the same brand or model series. The board doesnt care when it comes to using #1 - #13 cards. Troubleshooting is the same no matter what brand or series card used.
