Well, when do you sell the whole volume, when will the price increase by 500%? Well, then this long wait.
It's not about how much you make, it's about when you think it's the market is changing, and adapt quickly enough to adjust to these new conditions. Setting and ROI target is wrong, that's called the emotion of desire. A deadly strategy and will most likely lead to losses.

If warren buffet set a ROI cap, do you think he would still be one of the richest men in the world?

Still waiting on my group buy machines. Has everyone received theirs?
Getting a little bit frustrated.

Your units are marked to be hosted. Please contact sales@ if the status is wrong.

Thanks for the quick response. The status is correct. My only question is when can I expect them to go online.

Titan hosted GB units will be hosted in Israel DC first (Sunday) and then during mid September will be hot swapped to Titan with zero or minimal (few hours) down time.
You'll get an email from Katya for pool / wallet information.

Got it. Thanks!
I think for customers who don't check the forum every day it would be helpful if this information was emailed out or posted on your company blog.

Regardless, I appreciate the quality of service so far.

I have received shipping notification of my Aug GB SP30s.

I was #2 in the reservation queue. Looking forward to firing up those bad boys!

Have GB buyers that opted for the Titan DC hosting been asked for their pool data?
I haven't heard anything yet..

I talked to a DC in Iceland and they gave me a price of 95 EUR per kW per month. That comes out to about the same price.

Can you share the details with info@ ?

In this thread Bitfury talks about the options he got in Iceland when looking for a DC solution (for his 13 kw FPGA rack solution)
Most of the stuff should still be accurate.
(in the middle of the thread there is an excerpt from a conversation he had with the DC guys)

Basically, they get really cheap when you can rent a whole container.

Yes, that's the one.

I have a quote of $400 for a half cabinet (21U) + $15/amp. If each SP30 is about 15 amps at 208v then it should come out to $225 per SP30 + $400 fixed cost.

Is that viaWest? so basically around the same cost.

It's not the same cost. Well the power cost is nice, but we also have to pay for a half cabinet while using only part of it. During the last weeks I've sent a lot of e-mail to a lot of datacenters in Europe and no datacenter is ready for bitcoin miners colocation. We need a datacenter which can supply a lot of power for small boxes. Paying for a 21U cabinet to use just a part of it is wasting money.
That is true, however i wouldn´t bother with any DC in Europe (except Iceland) as their power cost isn´t competitive on a global scale.
DCs in Iceland can typically handle a good power density, as their free air cooling is superb.

Washington State has some DCs equipped for high density, but you will not get any service there, if you are only looking for 1-2 racks. They sell corporate volume only.

Keep in mind that most DCs are older, and 6kW/rack was considered plenty.

I talked to a DC in Iceland and they gave me a price of 95 EUR per kW per month. That comes out to about the same price.

I am only hosting one in a local DC , and some more at the spondoolies facility, so they are worrying about the power distribution Wink

As for sp30s, i am probably going to go with the longterm hosting solution provided by spondoolies, which will be 290$ per month and sp30.

I don´t want to worry about finding a DC with the capacity for high density deployment, so i am going with the fully outsourced model on this.
It also includes a good SLA, specifically for miner hosting, making sure you don´t pay for stuff you don´t need.

What is the cost per sp30 you are looking at with your facility?

Most of the places i checked out weren´t really competitive if you don´t go for multiple racks, sadly.
The ones with cheap power also typically dont bother with "small-time" customers.

DC staff is normally very helpful, you can always ask how much power they will be able to provide to your rack.

For two sp30, calculate a power usage of 6kw to be on the safe side.

I very much doubt they would install a PDU with too little power if you tell them, you need X Kw.

They've been very helpful so far. How many SP10 / SP30s are you hosting in a DC?

Question to the hardware savvy folks:

Do you believe that the following PDU will be able to support two SP30 machines:
http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=AP8861&tab=models
Quote
APC offers units that bring up to 14.4kW using a single branch whip.

Yes, if you get one with enough power Wink as i read it, there are different versions available.

However, why do you want a PDU? Most DCs offer remotely managed outlets for little additional monthly cost, or it is included in the lease of the rackspace.

You do understand that this won´t provide any backup power (if this is what you are looking for) and most power conditioning features are already performed by the high performance server PSUs built into sp30.
It already has over current / under current, surge ... protection...

If the build quality will be the same as sp10, and there is no reason to doubt that, you won´t need to do any remote hard-resets and usually DC staff can perform this if needed.

They're installing this PDU for my rack and I want to make sure it can handle the machines. Thanks for your answer.

If anyone from Canada is interested, I'm trying to arrange a group discount for hosting SP30s at a data center in Montreal. Electricity price can go as low as $0.09 depending on the volume.

If interested, pm me.

I should open a DC in my basement in Manitoba, I only pay .075 Smiley

I think you should.

Anyone interested in setting up a not-for-profit data center for miners in the Montreal area?
The reason for Montreal is cheap electricity prices.

The goal will be to have a space where miners can co-locate at cost. Every miner will be responsible for their own electricity costs. Common expenses such as rent will be split based on space usage.

I am definitely interested - but be warned that it will take significant startup money/power use to make it viable.

Expect the costs of rent/oversight/internet/cooling/power to average about $0.22/kWh for a ~30kW power draw and about $0.175/kWh for a 50kW power draw.

How did you calculate $0.22/kWh?
I know that 10 kWh running 24/7 costs $683 + HST in Montreal. That's about 9c per kwh.
Data center colocation costs are quite a bit higher.

Hello,

How I need this to setup? What PSU you recommends for 2x ANT-Miner S1s? Seller suggest 1000W PSU. I think they pulling 720W?

Also need I anything else for the miners setting up? I have already router with WIFI connection and also ethernet cable for direct the plugging in. But what else needed?

Danke!  Smiley

I have two S1's connected to a single Corsair 750.

My S2 batch 2 has been hashing stably since it was delivered in April.
Today I suddenly see the hash rate fluctuate wildly, going down to 300gh then back up to 1100gh and so on.

I'll investigate when I get home. Has anyone seen this behavior?
