Should it be possible to mine using a Vega 64 GPU and an RX 580 GPU together in the same rig? I'm getting hard lockups whenever I try to combine them...

I just installed SmartCoin today and after playing with it, I have to say that it looks really great. You've really put a lot of polish on it.

Unfortunately I'm not having any luck getting my lockups detected. There's no relevant information in the SmartCoin logs, and the SmartCoin console just seems to stop running altogether. However, I can disconnect from screen and issue other commands so I know the machine isn't completely unresponsive. I can also run ./lockup.sh manually and it works fine.

What should I look at? Is there any troubleshooting information I can provide? Thanks!

Yeah there's definitely something wrong, I'm mining at about 50% capacity on US West.

Unfortunately I can't provide diagnostic information as I'm not anywhere near the miners at the moment.

That's not what I said, is it? The keys are valid (for now). Your operation however is illegitimate and what you're doing is illegal.

People buying from you might as well torrent the products and save themselves a few BTC. Either way, they will have no valid license to use the products.

When Microsoft terminates your account and blacklists all of those keys, your "customers" will be left on the hook.

I'm sure you think you do, but you probably shouldn't mislead others by advertising it as a "legitimate" product.

I looked into buying this card as well but there were a couple of other red flags.

1) Other than the posts where he is selling the card, OP only has a handful of one-sentence posts without much content.

2) His first post is from June 24, 2011, 11:37:24 pm where mentions he "just ordered 2 6990's" then on June 25, 2011, 06:16:19 pm (not even a day later) he is already selling one of them. Now that's really quick shipping for an item that's out of stock everywhere. And why would someone sell below cost the very same day they received it?

3) After being contacted by PM he refused multiple times to use an escrow service for the purchase, even though I offered to pay for all the fees myself. Instead he said he was "little time pressured" because he had to leave town this week, "wished he had more time to alleviate my concerns", and asked me to "trust him one this one" -- sure signs of a scam.

He was pleasant enough to communicate with over PMs though, I'll give him that

I usually find that the box the motherboard came in works quite well.

I've also used a pinning board which is cheap, and works great because cork is a fire retardant.

"Generation" was an issue for me under Windows, as I was unable to mix 5xxx and 6xxx cards and install proper drivers to get mining. The AMD CrossfireX Compatibility Chart illustrates which combinations are supported.

However this has not been an issue for me in Linux; I have a rig with a 6950 and 5850 and each is mining to capacity.

You shouldn't run into any issues when mining either in Linux or in Windows.

If you were playing games, the 6970 would throttle back to match the 6950 so the game would play in sync. When mining however, each card works independently of each other and will go as fast as it can.
