Deleting the block_headers in the .electrum directory to download it again does correct the unverified issue

Tried the "default_wallet" trick and it didn't work but deleting the headers did after giving it some time to sync. Thanks for the tip!

This guy has -8 reps would it be okay to invest with him?

I'm getting payouts. He was absent for a while after the group buy was started and he took payment but he's gone to great lengths to rectify the situation and there haven't been any further issues since then.

I haven't received a payout since the 13th. I'm not worried it's just FYI.

The official definition of dust is 0.00005430BTC, though miners could simply use a much lower threshold. So these wouldn't be considered dust transactions.

Ah gochya.

Is there a way to reduce the frequency of payouts? I feel like my ~.0015 BTC per day is adding more dust to the blockchain than I'd like. Or am I wrong about the threshold that is considered "dust"?

Re: Wanted: Dead BFL Jalapeno miner.... .15btc
by
pickymeek
on 09/12/2013, 17:47:40 UTC
Hey there!

So checking around I see a number of BFL Jalapenos are "fast flashing" or not working, or having USB/FTDI errors for some reason. I've been tearing my jalapeno apart, and I am really wondering *WHY* this is happening. I'd like to find a solution and figure it out.

To do that I need some dead jallies. So here's an offer you can't refuse: I'll buy the first dead jalapeno for .15 btc as long as it's intact/not smashed/not missing any parts/not stuffed in a turkey. That's *MORE* than what it will mine if it worked. The numbers from Mining.thegenesisblock back this up:

http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/0c5df5825e

This is what we classify as a "WTF incredible deal".

PM me and let's go from there.

My offer for burned out singles is in another post around here. But I really want to see what's going on here.

Thanks!
C
(edit: Someone told me I was completely nuts offering .75btc when I meant to type .075. My error, updated to .08, which is a fairly good deal. But .75 would have been an absolutely, spectacular, that is the most stupid amount in the world sort of deal)

(edit: I bumped up the price to more than what it will mine simply because I'm curious to see how irrational people are. Selling a jally for $600 on Ebay is one thing, holding on to a dead jally that someone is offering you more money than you paid in the first place for it is just beyond greed. I'm curious)

(edit: Due to the upcoming jump in difficulty I am dropping the amount to .15)

I don't argue that this isn't a good deal for a broken jally, but .15 is not more than it would have made in its lifetime.

What is happening here??
I didn't agree to any of this shit!
I agreed to 2 % of my profit being taken away from me for whatever you need to be payed.
You made the offer and you are responsible for covering your ends.
I don't care if you have to drive from work or whatever!
You should have thought about this before you made this offer!
I also didn't agree on mining any altcoins!
Could you at least give an overview of what you intend to mine and ask everyone before you change anything??

Stick to the conditions you set and don't change them around like you change your socks.

Faerbit

Chill. He was asking.

I meant to put up our own forum / IRC last month but I've been constantly been bombarded with work :/ I bought hosting and domain too...

I've never set anything up having to do with IRC. Can't we do something for free on Freenode?

Sorry if this is off topic, but should we have an official IRC chat room or somewhere to go when/if bitcointalk goes down again?

Re: Avast "Web Shield" interfering with Electrum connection

Thanks for the quick reply.

I re-enabled the Web Shield and restarted Electrum without adding anything to the exclusions just to make sure that this was my problem and it worked fine... So maybe it wasn't the Web Shield. If it happens again I'll add those ports and see if that fixes it without completely disabling the feature.

I've tried adding the port (50002) to the Avast exclustion list that is listed next to the servers in the "Network" settings but it doesn't seem to help. When I completely disable the Web Shield Electrum connects just fine. Are there other ports I should be adding to the exclusion list or is it something else altogether?

I will add a NMC address now to see if it works

edit:

keeps giving me "Signature fails!"

Signed with message: My Eligius - 2013-11-26 17:22:43 UTC - NMC_Address=My9MPWs7wFTCtn7k5fzkE4TeMU5v35aPwc

Hmmm.. I've had that before when I attempted to sign with an incorrect address. Make sure you're using the same one you're mining with?

Good idea. I will add NMC. You guys are sure that it won't affect the BTC mining? Also the speed looks funky on eligius but apparently they're under a DDoS attack. I checked each miner and they are OK.

Na it won't affect it at all. I've been merged mining on Eligius for a couple weeks and it's all good. BTC-E says they don't recommend using their addresses for mining but I haven't had a problem and I've had 10 NMC transactions go in just fine. Sold them for BTC just fine but you can't withdraw the BTC until it hits .01 IIRC.

If you aren't already, you should stick a NMC address in at Eligius to make a little extra BTC. I don't have a NMC wallet so I just generated one at BTC-E and they all get sent there. I exchange them for BTC then withdraw. Worth it?

For the record I'm fine with staying in seeing as the miners have been ordered. I would just like a little quicker response from the organizer when things like this come up. Granted I only have .5 BTC in this but that's the way I feel.

Another vote for each share being of equal value and your share becomes active once the machine you are part of starts mining.
