That's a consequence of the maximum permitted leverage being lowered to 3:1 a while back, so it's working as expected. While nobody was forced to divest back then either, any changes to an investor's offsite bankroll were required to not exceed the new allowed leverage.

The more recent change disables adding to your offsite bankroll, but it doesn't change the maximum permitted leverage (which is still important when you reduce your onsite or offsite).

Thank you very kindly for the prompt reply.

So if I've understood you correctly the new minimum onsite bankroll is 50% of the value of the offsite bankroll (=3x leverage), is that right?

In the past I've already reduced the maximum leverage for new offsite investments a number of times to discourage overleveraging and today I am disabling the ability to make new offsite investments entirely. Existing offsite investments are unaffected. Investors with offsite investments can still add to or remove from their onsite bankroll without being forced to divest their offsite portion. It is also possible to lower your offsite investment without fully removing it.

I initially invested when it was still possible to do so with 5x leverage.  The message above seems to indicate that those leveraged investments are "grandfathered in", so to speak.

Today I attempted to divest a relatively small amount from my onsite bankroll, an amount which would have left my onsite bankroll significantly larger than 1/4 of my offsite investment, but I still received the error message "That would cause you to become overleveraged. Decrease your offsite investment first."

So unfortunately it appears that it is NOT possible to divest from one's onsite bankroll without being forced to divest some (all?) of one's offsite investment, which is certainly a disappointment.

I'm wondering if the system is in error, or if this is indeed the way things are supposed to be?

AFAIK the "max leverage ratio" was lowered once, so that could cause an error for you now.

A leverage of up to 3:1 is supported, which means that Ƀ 1 invested onsite can support up to Ƀ 2 offsite for a total of Ƀ 3 invested.

I was not aware of that, that might definitely explain it.

Thank you!

I have a question that perhaps someone here can help me with?

I invested 2 BTC on bustadice a while ago, with the 5x leverage option, so basically I had 1.96 BTC "onsite" and ~7.8 BTC "offsite".

The investment has been profitable and so now I have ~3 BTC "onsite" and still ~7.8 BTC "offsite".

When I try to de-invest .5 BTC from my "onsite" balance bustadice keeps returning an error message: "That would cause you to become overleveraged. Decrease your offsite investment first.", however the amount of BTC I'm leaving onsite after de-investing .5 (~2.5) is still more than enough by far to cover the leverage ... am I missing something here?

Cheers all!

Any insights into when the BTC & ETH investment options might be returning?

For now there are no plans about enabling those investments back.

Thanks for that update.  Smiley

Any reason why?

I ask particularly given that both the bankroll & BTC/ETH price has shrunk not grown in recent months.

It got shrunk a lot, but it is still at decent size. If it continues to decrease we will enable it back.

10-4 & thanks again.

Unfortunately it seems as if BTC and ETH are no longer options for investing.
