The long and short of it is that AM is switching from self mining to chip sales.  It is hard to adequately summarize the last... 500 pages of this thread, but this change in AM's model along with holding profits for re-investment is what is likely the cause.  August 2nd should provide us with more answers, I would stay away from speculation and just wait till then for more info.

Ah. I see thanks. I'll make a note of this date.

So far I have 0.045 BTC for a 1.24 BTC investment. Not good.

Actually, your 1.24 BTC investment is bidding at ~0.65 BTC so your return is actually double what you thought as a percentage Wink

Last div received on 30/03/2014?

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else. My googling/searching hasn't returned anything.
So won a bid and paid 1.24 BTC for 4 shares and I have been getting divs till 30/03/2014.

Nothing since then and I only managed to get synced up today.

Something happen?

Blockchain scalability question
by

I was reading through this https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Scalability and wondering were the clients are with implementing the scalability upgrades?

Is every transaction with BTC recorded in the blockchain which is downloaded by every wallet?
Is all the history stored? Sounds like it....
How can this scale if millions/billions of customers start using BTC from their wallets stored on their smartphones?
Wouldn't the network get overwhelmed if every wallet/node had to be kept in sync?

Thanks

With 1 BTC @ ~1000 USD, those pizza's cost $10 000 000 ($10 Million USD)...

We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for these sorts of initial trades....

what's the point in having them then? as i've been saying.. i would just donate them to charities or causes that i believe in. hell, bitcoin might even become a big thing during the next election cycle. if satoshi is a libertarian, he could donate to a ron paul or whoever.

it's certainly better than letting your btc accumulate.

Yeah, I'm a charity case too.  Cheesy

Hey Satoshi, Can I have 1 BTC? You have so many...

But seriously, kicking myself for not getting into this in 2010....

I have the funds to buy stuff but cant pm anyone because of some etiquette rules which would have been valid in the early 90's. Who doesn't know forum etiquette in 2013? Frustrating...
