Re: The best hands down GPU for mining etherum?

More like ~39 MH/s at 170W is the benchmarks I've seen. The original $400 price is a fantasy at this point. If you could get RX 570's for their original price, with two you would get ~56 MH/s for less than $400.
- Exactly.

Again, Rig of 13 RX570 gives 390MH and cost of 1 card is 310USD as of today. $4000 per all GPU.
Rig of 10 P104-100 gives 400MH and cost of 1 cards is $700USD as of today. $7000 per all GPU.
To make it en par cost of P104-100 must be $400 delivered in USA. Which never was the case.

Power consumption difference. RIG of 13 RX570 = 1000Wt, RIG of 10 P104 = 1500Wt.
So even with theoretical price decrease, you still pay 50% more for electricity.

And, finally, there is no resale value and 3 month warranty.

This forum is very helpful, I really appreciate support and help from this community. Great job guys.

Going back to your question. People just tired to see similar post. If you ever will mine, you probably would see similar post on daily basis.

ATM mining is not very profitable due to:
1) Market all down
2) Hardware all way up

Best advise is to wait, and use profit calc to see estimates.

Indeed people can buy coins if they think price will continue to go up.

Of course its supply and demand.

I need cards now but would not pay the price.
As i said 21 days delivery is not great.
570 armors are for 355usd tax included.

Regarding Nvida new cards. Lol. It will be unafordable and expensive.

Titan is here. For 3k each making 77mhps. Not worth it.

I have close connect to one of the biggest hardware distributors in North America.
I deal with Canadian office. But they huge in usa.
B2b only. No retail sales.

Here what happened with prices just last 3 weeks.
Rx570 they had for 342cad and order would take 21 business days.
I ve seen in a week price was 400. Then 402. Then recently 442. Today price was 416..

I dont convince myself 442 plus tax is worth it. I could consider 300-350 price range at max.

They got 500 cards delivered and sold imemdiatelly.

Now the order is 1100 cards.

Who are these people who buy cards for 500 bucks havìng 2dollars profit from each. Its a long time even to break in.

100% when money will be returned. New cards and algos will ve in. So again. Why people buying is beyond my understanding.

Its totally weird. Eth was 1300 range and rx cards were 250 and available.
Recently Eth dropped to 1000 and cards are sold out everywhere.

Totally unlogical.

Problem is that with such prices its hard to break even.
Of course. When this finally will happen there will be new cards.

However price of these new cards will be too high.
There is no point to buy titan for 3k doing 77mh.

Got bunch of old HP servers.

Are 650-700Wt PSU worth it?
How about DDR2 memory?
6pins FANs?

Any other ideas before they going to garbage?

Your mortgage situation is irrelevant at all. Same as your before tax income. And your years in IT.

Not sure when and how you managed to buy 33 1060 for 10K. How much is 1 card today in FInland?
How about other expenses for building rigs?  Can average Joe go buy 33 cards today and earn money tomorrow? NO. Why u mislead people...

Next, where you placed 33 cards? In your bedroom? Its 6Kwt of power

fter I have mined enough I can quit my shitty job. And there must be plenty of people who think similarly to me.
- What happens if mining will be not profitable or coins will cost nothing for example. Mining is not reliable.

Quote
mining at it's current state seems too easy.
- Not at all.

No GPU available or overpriced, lack of manu warranties, cost of power and setup, overclocking, management. etc.

Quote
let me know any other industry in which payback time is below one year?
- You sure you 47 years old? Thats really silly question. Imagine you return your invested money in 1 year, who knows what will happen after 1 year...Mining may die. You will eventually not earn a penny. Just sit with used and abused gear.
Certainly if mining will stay as is (which is almost 0 chance) you start to see real profit...
And of course, if price of coins will raise, you can be in profit much faster than 1 year.
Totally unpredictable and unstable.

Interesting. Where you located in Canada and if the price includes delivery and taxes?

I can buy cards cheaper, even Nvidia increased pricing for $100 pet p104 recently.
Just hassle with customs and delivery.

Paying $620 for potential 40mhps is not all right.

Rx570 cost half and go to 30mhps.

Thank you for sharing.

Cost of cards became an issue.

I got quote of $500usd per card.
Plus shipping and duties taxes.
Cant expect each to be less than $600.

I pass it. Radeons give 10mh less but cost half.

So 7 RX = at least 200mh for 2100
5 of p104 = max same 200mh for 3000.

And rx are resellable and under warranty.

Its interesting. Profit drop down 25l%. Cost of cards raised 50%.

I got confirmation from manufacturer that Nvidia officially increased prices. Now they ask me to pay more for less...

Problem with ROI and profit is that its totally unknown what will happen next. Here are some factors:

1) Coins cost fluctuates a lot. Who knew 1 year ago the price of Eth will be like today? Who knew 1 week ago it will drop 30%? Its unpredictable.
2) Hardware is under highest utilization. So expect cards can be broken.
3) New hardware can come in effect. With higher rates, lower price.

Mining is fun. But not for everyone.

can you get nvidia 1060 or 1070 instead because my 6x 1060 3gb gives around 1300 usd on neoscrypt if not you could mine cryptonote with 570 that is really good right now either way your options will be more open with nvidia but nonetheless its a good deal.
- I can get both. 1060 for really cheap, 1070 little bit more expensive compare to RX570 but difference is minimal.

Since yesterday all RX570 gone from warehouse. They expect 200 more at anytime locally.

Guys, I have another question here. MB comes with only 2 USB ports. I have kb, mouse and usb stick. Weird, but how you deal with 3 usb devices with 2 ports? Some kind of replicator?

My Onda 1800 just arrived from China. Just a motherboard in a bag, no box, no documentation, nothing else with it at all. Is that how they are normally shipped?
I don't have a monitor with a VGA input; haven't in about 15+ years, actually...
- Definetly going to order 1.35V DDR3 today. Any advice on brand/model?
- I have 2 VGA monitors. With usual RIG I have opposite issue - one of my monitors is not working with GB MB. Its 100% working with everything else.

- Yes. Just MB

This thing should be mining Equihash or Neoscrypt shortly.

Troubleshooting Onda mb. D1800btc. Help.

Got new mb. Finally turned on and no sounds. No led if any.
And nothing on the screen. Cooler works fine.

I tried. 2 different psu. 2 different lcd monitors. Vga. And external gpu hdmi and vga. Nothing.

Also mb has only 2 usb. So if i connect kb and mouse there is no by default port for usb stick anymore.

If you have experience with this mb or similar please let me know:
1. If there should be any led signals?
2. Does it make post sound?

I tried 2 different memory sticks.
So far my guess is something with memory
In 2 days i ll have 100% working ddr3 and new ssd.

Molex and sata both triple to one in.

Msi rx570 gaming 4gb for mining 330usd each?
by
pix530
on 19/01/2018, 06:34:50 UTC
Hi guys.
I sourced cards and can order aa many as I want due to strong relations with supplier.

Cost of each rx 570 msi gaming is 330usd.
Worth is?

Currently each 6gpu rig gives about 500usd per month.
So it takes 6 month just to break the expenses.

The question is not silly.
1. Now its a shortage of cards and rarely I could buy as many as I want.
2. Cost increased so profit is down.
3. I can buy 104-100 cards. They little more expensive but 40mh per card compare to 28 here.

shibob, Thank you for answering my questions. I have rig ready for these cards. Cant wait.
I use W10 now, but playing games with OS when rig can mine is counter productive. So I just think which OS would be better. Not an issue. I can try both too.

I have supplier, but I need to be fast, cause prices for AMD going crazy now. I am sure Nvidia will follow.
