Re: This Ukraine issue has me thinking a lot. In a crisis, how valuable is bitcoin?

It's really too bad for this situation to happen. At that time, I think food is more important to you. Bitcoin without the network is meaningless. In this case, it can only play God to end the war quickly, Takes you where there is internet.

I think the forum is very good now (except for some bounty hunters) and everything else is very good.

Many new people join the forum every day. Many old members of the forum are also very patient to answer questions like others

This is what I expected, I now read in the BD section every day...most of people still choose to read this section.
Although the quality of the posts inside is really different.

There is almost anything about Bitcoin. That's why there will be a variety of posts with different qualities.

Just like the two posts listed by OP. Both of them are good posts but the types are completely different.

I usually decide which tokens I should invest in based on different sectors. You are currently very popular in nft games, so I will invest in a series of nft tokens. I guess the next hot spot may be the DAO sector. At that time I will continue to transfer funds to this type of token

The capital world is like this, especially in today's economic globalization. It is essential that any company will have shares in other countries' companies.

Now that the media can be accepted by China, even military enterprises will be acquired by China in the future. Today’s businessmen are completely driven by interests, but lack patriotism.

Yes, sorry, these are my two accounts, I'm just testing one feature.
It seems that I need to go to the novice section to check the information.
Sorry, if I violate the rules, please let me know and I will delete the post in time.
each person have only one account? ? If this is the case, I will log out one of them

Nah, it's not a big deal... You can have as many alt accounts as you like... It's not against the rules... There are some people tough that make it a sport to connect alt accounts Smiley

After half year of your account and posted more than 20posts , now testing something to post? any plans in the future?

Hello, sorry for taking up your time. I am testing how to edit the table. I am preparing for my ANN. The original plan was to upload pictures, but in order to facilitate non-native speakers to use Google Translate, I finally decided to try editing the form directly

You realise you're not using the same account as the one you used to create the OP, right??? Forgot to log out when switching to your alt account?

People who have really suffered from depression will understand the pain of depression.

Maybe other people think that people with depression are too sensitive and say that they are not in a bad mood too serious, but this is not the case.

Is such a novice self-introduction allowed? If yes, I would also like to post one, because this is an important moment.

It is a good choice to leave the first topic for self-introduction

Re: Is it normal to not want to work at all?
by
playyamy
on 02/02/2021, 06:56:49 UTC
I feel like this ever since I finally got into the role I spent four years working towards. I just want to stay home and be left alone. Every day I push myself to go do my job and it’s demands. I often find myself daydreaming about not having to work or worry about making money. To just be able to not work would be amazing. I think I’m mostly just really worn out from four intense years of study and work and now my mind and body want a rest. I’m really looking forward to a two week staycation over Christmas. Hopefully that eases my constant day dreaming about not working.
Same here. What really scares me is the people I run across that can retire and choose not to. This one old guy who was just past retirement age told me that he had enough money in the bank and a pension which would have allowed him to retire a couple of years ago but he didn't know what he would do with his time. It was the most depressing thing I'd ever heard

Yes. I consider it a skill. If you keep evaluating what you need vs what you don’t, you can save that money for the important things.
I wonder about this too.
I can recall a story in the papers some years ago where an elderly man passed away, and they found, literally millions of dollars stuffed in his mattress.. He was just a regular guy. A trucker as I recall, who simply didn't spend anything.

A lifetime of saving, even on a pretty medium wage can see this happen.

It does seem rather tragic to work your whole life and never enjoy the fruits of that labor.

Re: Why am I so handsome in the mirror but so ugly in a photo?
by
playyamy
on 02/02/2021, 02:30:43 UTC
I didn't get through all the comments, but was surprised to see no one elaborate on the mirror. Your reflection is mirrored compared to the photo. Faces are not symmetrical.

Most people predominantly only view themselves via reflection, so when they do see themselves straight on, it doesn't match up with what your brain "knows," and hence there's an inclination to treat it as "other," not "self."

There's probably more than just that factor at play, but visual perception is something humans rely on, so your brain is on point for recognizing the difference between the two views.

Re: 雷: 在别人独自呆上 2 小时醒来很奇怪吗?
by

I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with it at all. Everyone needs time to themselves, just because you have a family doesn't change that. I finish work around midnight and I enjoy being able to come home and do my own thing for a couple of hours before going to sleep.
It's essential to have 'me time' in a relationship, not having so risks co-dependency (or symptoms thereof). What OP is describing seems very healthy to me, as does your comment (:
Unfortunately, even if both in the relationship have “me” time, codependency can still be a likely possibility.

I think to avoid codependency one must truly be able to enjoy one’s own company no matter the circumstances, or have a very active and fulfilling social life outside of the relationship.
Codependency is not a real thing. The whole idea pathologizes a normal human tendency, which is to want to be close to people we love or care about. There are different styles of attachment-- some healthier than others-- but humans will always need other humans, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Normally I wouldn't say anything about it but the concept of codependency really only serves to make people feel ashamed or guilty that they "need" someone else other than themselves. Of course they need other people. That's how people survive.

What are subtle red flags at a job interview that say "working here would suck"?
by
playyamy
on 01/02/2021, 06:21:00 UTC
I always ask about training and learning curves. Every job I’ve had that went wrong- I notice that when that question came up they stumbled. The current job I have, when I asked the question they had sparks in their eyes as they explained the whole process from day 1 of shadowing to the transition to working solo. And even when covid hit they managed to continue without skipping a beat.

Re: What is your job and what does your day in the life look like?

I work in a group home for the developmentally disabled. My day can have several different ways it can go, but its usually just hanging out in a nice house helping out some peeps who have trouble with every day tasks.

Some days I'm a nurse, others a personal chef, a handy man, chauffeur. You name it.
