Re: ANYTHING IMPORTANT I SHOULD KNOW?

A few things to remember we all have a lot to learn.  We are at the start of crypto not something that is even widely used to this point.

Research a lot, do not take anyone's word for it just because they are famous, have a lot of twitter followers, etc.   If you see a lot of people start pumping a coin / token be leery.

Do not trade on emotion and never more than you can afford to lose.  There are a lot of good projects out there and a lot of scams.

Look at the big dogs for coins (BTC, ETH, LTC) keep a good percentage of your base there then find some projects in areas that interest / excite you.  Do you like logistics, security, disruption, real estate, dating, art, gambling, pharma?  Find some projects in some of those areas research them and if they seem solid get behind them, invest join the community, get involved.

Make sure you have good security (passwords, offline wallets, vpn, antimalware, etc).  NEVER send tokens for the promise of free tokens in higher amounts.

There is a lot of opportunity don't let yourself get burned with greed or trading on emotion.

Interesting looking project, with a great concept.  I am always looking for more opportunities to learn and see how technology is growing with analysis.  I have taken an initial look and this looks very promising.

Re: So, what's an ICO and why is it revolutionary?
by

IPOs are also Highly Regulated.  To date that amount of regulation has not hit ICOs.  Starting late last year and a lot more this year Whitelisting / KYC have become the norm instead of the exception in ICOs.  As more regulations creep into Crypto, both good and bad, the exponential returns on ICOs will most likely dwindle.  There will need to be proven business plans, roadmaps, with at least a proof of concept etc.  The copying and pasting of Whitepapers, using fake LinkedIn Profiles etc will decrease.

To your point it is Revolutionary in the fact that projects and funds can be raised globally on macro and micro levels.  Everyday Jo to Wall Street Orca can both participate and become part of a project and community.  There is a lot of opportunity for money to be made outside of traditional stocks, bonds etc.

Re: How to avoid reputation risks, scam, and fishing in Telegram?

Hi, actually, the subject is the question - How to avoid reputation risks, scam, and fishing in Telegram?
I know that a lot of in Telegram are scammers and I want to know how to fight against them.
Community, any thoughts?  Cool

Google is your friend and this community on bitcoin forum also. If you want to join a project on telegram make your own research in the internet look at the devs website if they don't have a website it is not a good sign.
For example if you got a message that you won a lot of ...coins click on the link follow.. take care it could be a scam everything that sounds to good to be true is mostly a scam. Don't give your private Key to anybody!

Agree 100%  Never ever give the private key.  Also be leary of anything that asks you to donatate ETH or BTC to participate in any type of airdrop or to join an ICO.

This is one of the best places to start, come back to and then come back here again.  Reddit and Twitter have some good value to do some more digging.  Dont dive into something based on emotion or a ton of hype.  For every Bitcoin there are 1500 crap coins projects that arent worth the $20 domain and wordpress package they bought to get on the net.  DYOR lurk and read read read.

There are a ton of threads in here about ICOs.  Not to sound like a smart aleck but try the search feature here.  Also check reddit or do a twitter search for #airdrop or look in Telegram or Discord.

As coins get listed in CoinMarket Cap etc they also show in MEW.  You will need to search for the Coin and hit add you will see the tokens.  You can also look at either scan against your wallet and see when they have been deposited.

As ajmal4758 linked to there are rules for the activity.  There are also wait times, active times etc to help reduce spam and make sure that this is a meaningful community.

Do you anticipate more $$$ in the future that you can build your portfolio?  You could get some sud $1 Coins, you could go into something like LTC or ETH that is down today and then when the value rises put it into some alts.  While $70 isnt a lot there are some good projects out there you need to dig for em.

If you want really secure you could always go the ledger route i.e. the Nano S  they support a lot of ERC20 coins.

Re: Is there anything similar to myetherwallet

on 23/01/2018, 23:47:51 UTC
I mostly like my ether wallet to make my transactions but lately and I'm having some trouble with transactions and I just don't seem to be able to get it to work  offline.  Does anyone know if there is something similar out there at least simple and effective and does not require to download the full chain?

When you say you have been having issues with transactions, what types of trouble are you seeing?  Is it withdrawing from exchanges, sending payments, not seeing alts?
