Thank you all for banning me from slack for telling that development is stopped and no more peoples cares about. Seems like truth..hurts. Good job, really.

Not sure who banned you but I'll look into it.

Wondering why verium and vericoin clients are missing the addnode command. Those 2 doesnt even try to connect to any hosts listed in .conf. vericoin.info is the only node in peers.dat file and its down - so no new miners allowed inside.
What do you mean? Can you post your conf file? Are you on the most up-to-date client? Click node list next to 1.7.1: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/vrc/#!network and try forcing using connect= and see if you get connections. If not, it could be a firewall issue.

So, combined I have probably mined for a few hours, yet all my balances across the vault still remain at zero? Do you have to type something in the console for the "balance" to start to show numbers and manually pull?

Mining requires your computer find the correct hash for a current block. You don't accrue coins in small bits slowly, you need to get lucky enough to find the entire block. Check your estimated time to a block, and on average, you will find one within that time.

Hi

I have lots of vericoin and I did not know about it as I was getting the updates from supernetwork slack but I did not see any news from you from a long time, how can I do the swap now?

The SuperNET/VRC swap is unrelated to VRM; in addition, it was offered for a few months but all remaining funds were returned/donated back to SuperNET or VRC Endowment.

Also another question:  Vericoin is showing out of sync blocks in the explorer: i.e. block height is out of sync with block time in the Raw TX record.  Can anyone advise.  Here is an out of sync block example:  https://chainz.cryptoid.info/vrc/block.dws?1609671.htm

thanks.

If you're talking about how the reported block time is after than the time reported in the subsequent block, it's within the limits of the block allowance. The reported block time is allowed to be within a few minutes of the consensus time due to latency.

1609671 2017-02-14 16:45:58
1609672 2017-02-14 16:44:13

As you can see, the block time is reported as 16 seconds after the block time of the next accepted block. It's partially an artifact of shorter block times (1 min for VRC vs 10 min for BTC, for example). Since your PC clock could be off by a minute or two, as long as it's within the accepted window and properly meets the other criteria and is broadcast to a majority of nodes, it will be accepted.

Is Vericoin a deterministic wallet: i.e. all keypairs derived from passphrase or is it a hierarchical deteministic wallet.

Looking for answer relative to this article.  http://bitzuma.com/posts/five-ways-to-lose-money-with-bitcoin-change-addresses/

thank you.  Please PM answer

The Android wallet which is not officially supported uses HD as the address mechanism. Our official wallets do not and are of the same type as Bitcoin core.

Once the mining updates, the new wallet, and the marketing plan are in action it will pay off greatly.
Also expect the announcement that Doug touched on in the interview to have a positive impact on both VRC and VRM.

That's all great but when.  Problem is the development is to slow so when something gets done  it gets pumped a little then everything stops till the next thing.  I understand the developers are busy but this coin isn't going no where unless they have people giving their dedicated time to make this coin better everyday not once a year.  2 years ago POST and nothing else this past year Verium and nothing else.   Until you have that this coin is going no where the development happens to quick.  It be better for them to give the keys to someone and stick around as an advisor but honestly no one worth keeping would probably deal with this coin.

I totally agree, which is why I put my own money out there to recruit a new developer to help share the load. We have a promising candidate who has been working with Doug and I. Hopefully, we'll have some cool stuff to share regarding messaging and anonymous sends soon.

Some good news, a VRC investor with an academic programming background similar to Doug and I has indicated interest in joining us. I'll be providing milestone payments as funding, as promised. More details to come after we figure out what we want to tackle first.

As some of you may know, I finished graduate school this past summer and have now been working pretty busy hours. Because of this, I can't devote the time I was once able to, and would like to, working on VRC/VRM. Because of my inability to commit large amounts of time to the project, I am willing to donate up to 75% of my VRC holdings to help fund another developer. My VRC holding is pretty large, in the hundreds of thousands of VRC. I will be happy to disclose more specifics to any interested parties after vetting.

To make it clear, I am not leaving VRC/VRM and will not be stepping away as a developer. Instead, I will be donating my own hard-earned money to help keep VRC at the forefront of the sector. Instead of going down with the ship, hopefully I can help right it.

Details:
Send me an email if you are interested in this: pnosker@vericoin.info

The public address that holds the funds will be released to a candidate of my choosing with payments dispensed as 10% of holdings per 3 months, starting with the first payment as a goodwill payment before work starts. There is no minimum time commitment but milestones will be set based upon our discussion.

I would like a proposal about what features or elements of the VRC code you would like to add or improve upon. I would like to see some prior code relating to another cryptocurrency project.

This would be a great way to earn a large chunk of cryptocurrency.

Some projects we have planned and are working on that you may want to use in your proposal/help finish:

-Doug's anonymous sends/public usernames system which relies on multisig generation (you'll have to ask him for more details)
-Implementation of BIP32 hierarchical determination of keys into the main core VRC wallet
-An independent mobile wallet that does not rely on a central server (ideally would use SPV technology)
-Improvement of VRM core wallet mining speed

Any luck with finding a new developer? Some exciting fresh blood on the team could get his coin moving again. Maybe Doug can talk about some of the potential candidates during his radio interview on Thursday?

Haven't heard anything yet. I also sent out some cold messages to coinality postings as suggested, but no replies. It's pretty disappointing.

Doug and I both contacted them per their request. At least in their reply to me, they just said the volume needs to be high enough to prevent delisting.

you guys should really start to fund some marketing campaigns and reach out to some businesses to use your product(s), everything is moving way to slow. expectations are high and I think that any kind of signal in this direction (ie marketing and business application), any signal at all on your behalf would result in a positive market reaction.
now that you're funded things should move faster. if we wait 4 months for a voting system that is just a mechanism not an actual business development to be implemented then we should except ideas to be submitted in 6 months and work actually to start in one year?
c'mon

As we mentioned earlier, we paid the marketing company, they're doing preliminary work right now.

Can you send an email to vericoin@vericoin.info with details including: 1. The address you sent VRC to, 2. The Bitcoin address destination, and 3. A VRC refund address if the transaction got stuck? David will check it out.

In addition, the addresses you posted aren't VeriBit addresses.

The marketing agreement with Blue Lynx is signed and has been paid. Efforts by them will start November 3.

How much of the VRM ico fund has been used to pay Blue Lynx so far?

This is the payment to them: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/vrc/address.dws?VHrJBxBFeRcK8WgXm1q74JToXedjMfXCWD.htm

Wow <4K on the horizon. Man we're we played w/ VRM.  Remember this "Verium will be a reserve commodity enforced by the protocol and VeriCoin would continue to be the currency.". Yea guess that's never happening.  All that was done was a coin was created two separate coins.  I feel so played.  But that's what we except from crypto. Just thought this coin was different lesson learned!

As of right now, the network hashrate is too low to support additional security via AuxPOW. 175 kH/M is far lower than our target. Once we cross the 1000 kH/M threshold, it starts to make sense.
