Hey I've been having more luck since starting fresh with abe and the blockchain. I'm trying to get abe to use RPC but it always says either "catch_up_rpc: abort" or "Exception: RPC load failed." The bitcoin client is the first time I've ever seen RPC so I am very unfamiliar with it. It does seem, however to be a better way for abe to update the database instead of reading the blockfiles over and over again.

So my question is this. How do I make it work? I have a ~/.bitcoin/bitcoin.conf which contains the rpc username and password, and told it to listen for rpc on port 8332 (plus other settings). That port is correctly forwarded in my router. In abe.conf I have (among other things)

Hi! I'm almost done putting together a minecraft server. It will be supported entirely by bitcoin. I will attempt to sum up quickly with a bulleted list.

• Vanilla. Only basic mods such as essentials and multiverse. This is minecraft how it was meant to be played.
• Main world: uneditable at first, but eventually opened up to good builders to showcase their work
• Free world: open to everyone, basic survival with no clunky grief protection (coming soon a free creative world)
• Your world: For a very small monthly fee I will host a private world for you. Make it however you want--creative/survival, everyone is an admin/you are god. Perfect for you and a few friends. Perks can include access to backups, worldedit, etc. I'm imaging the base price being $1/month with $1 increments for more features (payable in bitcoin of course).

Right now I'm looking for someone(s) to help me work out the private world feature and make sure I have all the permissions and automation down. In return, I will give you and up to two of your friends access to your own private for free (I imagine for the first month). If you're interested in helping, find my number at spawn in the main world and text me, find me in-game or in teamspeak, or PM me on bitcointalk or reddit. I'm not always online so texting/PM would be the better options.

Of course, everyone is free to come on and play on the free map, ask questions, etc.

I want to begin the process of changing my shipping address. I do understand that you will not change any of the information other than the shipping address, so if anyone was to sell their chips/spot in line, they'd have to act as a middleman. My question is this:

Should I 1) submit a signed message asking the shipping address change, then go to the secret website and order the assembly options with the new shipping address.  .... Or 2) go to the secret website and order the assembly options with the current shipping address, then submit a signed message asking both shipping address to be changed? I'm hoping option 1 is okay, as it seems like it would be the easier option for you logistically.

I don't think I did anything unusual. I think I did copy block files from one of my computers to my server in order to speed up the chain download time. Problem is I don't remember if I did that before running abe for the first time or after. I'm currently letting abe rescan. If this doesn't work, I might just bite the bullet, remove everything from the mySQL database, delete my .bitcoin/ directory, download the blockchain the conventional way, and try again.

I keep getting a "RuntimeError: maximum recursion depth exceeded" error. It happens every time I start abe up, and every time I access a page the error shows up in the console. I start abe with the following command:

My personal opinion is that none of the cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin are being taken seriously enough by a high enough percentage of their users in order to last. I recently converted the few LTC I mined to BTC and am waiting for them to return to their normal price. Then maybe I'll buy a couple more.

I'm pretty sure that's what most people are doing with LTC and other smaller currencies.
