Bitcoin.info offer a really nice service. Go check them out. They're a bit more expensive (approx £0.50 per coin) than this seller but I'm uncertain this seller can be trusted with so many people complaining about not receiving funds.

I'd be cautious at the moment. I don't like to dirty the reputation of what appears to be a reputable guy but several people are already waiting for Alwaysmining to send BTC. I'd fully recommend you hold off the moment.
Thanks. Looks odd. Hope it's just a blip for those waiting. Shame there are so few places to get BTC in UK for reasonable value. Maybe I'll need to find some time to go the OTC route.

Great idea. Except for those of us trying to get into the main site so we can buy a small amount of BTC off a trusted member and try out our new found linux usb/cold storage/wallet knowledge!

This is the most likely scenario, rather than some stealthy grand bankster conspiracy against Bitcoin (whose market cap is still less than what the banksters, VISA, MC, Paypal etc. process in about five minutes - LOL).
True and I guess difficult to link the activity directly with Bitcoin anyway. We all love a banking conspiracy though, not least because they've got form!

On passwords, another alternative for me has been to use lyrics from obscure songs I know (ie. not pop, and not released the last 20 years!), with capitalization/punctuation (and avoiding the chorus) that usually takes me past 25 words long. Sometimes I'll add the year at the end just for some numbers (not sure if that matters though at this length). I figure it will never be bruteforced or guessed.
The frozen accounts could be that the constant activity triggers some kind of money laundering flag which the banks then investigate. Anyway it seems to be a right PITA to get coins in UK. I'm off to learn more about OTC. Will be brand new to IRC!
