It's only been 3 months since the last bull run, and for the last few weeks it's been mostly sideways instead of down. This is a common cycle in the crypto markets and we're still way up compared to the same time last year. Sentiment will reverse and markets will start going up eventually, I have no doubt

ICOs are an opportunity to get in at a lower price but with a bigger risk. They're are a great way to diversify an otherwise safe portfolio (you can argue that all crypto investment are high risk - but some are more so than other, and the payoff is usually proportional)

We had a bunch of projects with no fundamentals and no launched products raised way too much money, pushing the valuation of everything down. That bubble burst. The financial and technological impact of cryptocurrency is just getting started, and it is no bubble.

There's a reason why the US has laws for investing in securities - people without the financial means or experience investing in companies they do not know how to evaluate, will most often lose their money. ICOs that fail are not necessarily scams, but they are not projects that would be backed by an experienced investor, most likely (even they are more often wrong than right, but they have a much better due diligence process). ICOs are a great way to raise funds from the public and are definitely legit, but you need a strong process to not end up investing in a dead end cause.

Market will not start a bull run by itself - sentiment right is negative and needs some very positive news or actual product adoption to change. Might take months - even years, but we'll get there. Historical data says this will happen sooner rather than later

Not enough volume yet to support a positive trend. Market will continue to go sideways until actual adoption happens or some really positive news come out (maybe during Consensus in May)

Any cryptocurrency is a highly volatile investment. Only invest what you can afford to lose, and definitely not all your money

To me, asking this question is like asking if the iPhone will survive since we already have Palm PDAs. If the industry it meant to succeed, the first product is never the best

I believe it's a good thing. The good projects don't need to advertise - it's mostly the scammy projects that need to do that. You don't see IPOs or startup fundraising advertising on twitter, that would be ridiculous
