Re: Who really owns this forum?

I have been asking myself same question.  But if satoshi owned this forum and handed over to Thermos, that means Thermos must have known satoshi himself
This may not be the case, maybe Satoshi with Thermos are only connected online, they have not really met.
Even if Thermos knows who Satoshi is, there may be a secret agreement between them, and Thermos will permanently keep the secret of Satoshi identity.

Re: Am a newbie for bitcoin. Friends please clear my doubts

Correct you, in fact, the address of Bitcoin does not distinguish between countries. Your so-called "Indian address", "US address", etc., does not actually exist, because as long as you have a bitcoin address, you can use it in any country and accepts bitcoin, the only condition is that you have a private-key.

Unconsciously, Bitcoin has been born for 10 years. When I look back at the history of Bitcoin, I feel that it is not a long time. I even think it might have only been born for 3-5 years. To be honest, before 2014, I had never heard of Bitcoin. My earliest memory of Bitcoin stayed in a hacking exchange event.

Re: Something newbies should know about Bitcoin

In 2018, crypto's market sentiment scared many newcomers. When they saw that the market was red every day, if there was no crypto experience, it was undoubtedly shocking.
In addition, the spread of FUD will also give novices a natural defense against Bitcoin, they will always think that Bitcoin may be a pyramid or scam.
Bitcoin needs a benign and stable external environment, which is exactly what we should work hard, so we should spread more positive news about Bitcoin and try to avoid spreading negative things.

Re: The future of cryptocurrency/blockchain is in Asia
by
pptIox
on 30/12/2018, 15:10:24 UTC
At present, the most powerful crypto is bitcoin. It may have been invented by Americans. Although Satoshi Nakamoto is a very Japanese name, many people analyze that it is only used to confuse us. Asia's current crypto industry is very developed, but this does not mean that Asia is the country that most embraces crypto. In many countries in Asia, such as China, South Korea, India and other countries, crypto is greatly restricted.
So I think, you can think that Asia is the most widely used blockchain, but the frontier of blockchain technology development is still the United States.

Using your knowledge to help others as much as possible is the best "work", although you may not get a return on your money, it is a meaningful thing. Of course, if you want a real job, then you should go to the job search site instead of here.

Most of the time, being cheated just because of greed, scammers usually set a free pizza for you. When you want to eat it, you may need to pay a little bit of money. Compared with pizza, your payment seems to be trivial. But scammers is cheating on your little bit of money. So never trust a free lunch like this.

Re: I still not understand about Smerit
by

on 29/12/2018, 08:15:16 UTC
Merit is what you received, Merit you can send is called Smerit. When you receive 1 Merit, then you will have 0.5 Smerit, but it won't show up, you need at least 2 Merit, then you will be able to see your 1 Smerit and send it to anyone.
I didn't understand Merit at first, but it became easy to understand when you had Merit. You only need to post some high quality posts and you will probably get them.

Re: Thoughts: paying hackers to get accounts back: ethical or not?
by
pptIox
on 12/12/2018, 12:52:57 UTC
Does this mean that any rank account is worth only $25? There may be some hackers who don’t think that they may get more money through account trading. In addition, some account buyers may have spent more than $25 to purchase an account, and they will not be willing to hand over the account.
Although OP's idea is great, I think this may exceed the permissions of ordinary forum users, which is equivalent to creating a new "forum rule".
To solve this problem fundamentally, maybe 2fA will be a more reasonable way.

So ridiculous "experts",and more ridiculous is that so many people are deceived by them, so bitcointalk is really a good place to learn.
Honestly, if he can be called an "expert", then I can even let my grandmother go to be an expert.

For some people, crypto is a virus, especially those who are conservative, they won't recognize crypto as valuable, and treat it as "Internet spam/virus", It's hard for us to change their mindset, but when Bitcoin rises again one day, they may regret it.

Re: Space mining-myth or reality?
by
pptIox
on 09/12/2018, 08:31:22 UTC
Well, the electricity isn't a problem at all, it can be solved with solar panels... But internet, that's the real problem, How would you provide internet in space for your miners.

And another problem is the maintenance, what if a fan fails, or a circuit get fucked up, you will go to the space to fix it?

And the last problem is the cost, send miners to space shouldn't be cheap.

There is radio communication in space, the Internet is not a problem.
I am sure there is no wind in space, so I don't know if the fan is necessary.
I don't know how much it will cost to send miners to space, maybe it's enough for me to buy 100 miners on earth.

Re: Why the market will continue to fall
by
pptIox
on 09/12/2018, 08:19:40 UTC
The market can't always continue to fall forever, I believe that for now it will fall the more but very soon it will start rising again.
There is no one who really ensures the price of bitcoin will recover. The decline that has occurred for almost a year, it is possible that some of the investors will leave and leave their investments. The decline from the price of $ 19,700 at ATH last year and now bitcoin only has a price of $ 3500 has made some investors, especially new investors they will feel disappointed. I guess the surge in prices in 2017 was a contribution from new investors, but when he felt a deep loss I doubted he would return.

No, they will be back, there will always be new investors who will raise prices again, and once the investors who have left will see the price rise, they will come back immediately and create  a new ATH with new investors.
Once you have been exposed to Bitcoin, you will not forget it.

Re: Why do we need bitcoin in the modern world?
by
pptIox
on 09/12/2018, 08:13:52 UTC
To be honest, the current bitcoin is not yet ready for widespread circulation in the commercial sector. Before Bitcoin was widely used, there were still many problems to be solved, high transaction costs, slow transfer rates, huge price volatility, etc. These will make bitcoin encounter a lot of resistance when it is commercial.
For the future of Bitcoin, we should have good expectations, but we must not be too hasty.

Re: To new users, What are you struggling to learn?
by
pptIox
on 09/12/2018, 08:09:16 UTC
I suggest that new users should follow the steps below, which is also my learning step.
1. Learn what crypto is, starting with bitcoin.
2. Know the market, you can find something from the price trend of top 10 coins.
3. Learn how to use a wallet and try to receive - send coins.
4. Try to use some well-known exchanges, you can do some simulation trading before deposit.
5. Choose a coin that you think is good (preferably bitcoin), then try to buy it with a small amount of money.

Now that your “Beginners trial” has been completed, welcome to the world of crypto!

Re: To save bitcoin - stop buying bitcoin cash
by
pptIox
on 09/12/2018, 07:57:57 UTC
Stop buying altcoins would be a better way, not just bch, all altcoins are actually dilutions of bitcoin.
If we can't stop buying altcoins, then the same can't stop people from buying bch.
In this market, more people are pursuing short-term money, not real value.

I thought that was a place for actual chat, I guess not.

I'm not sure that there's much that can be done for this community with the overwhelming amount of shitposts that occur here.

Later guys, signing off for a few years. I might come back when BTC hits $1 million.

Friend, the game is just beginning, but you are leaving, it doesn’t seem wise.
Every day, people from different countries gather and chat. I think I can learn a lot. Since I came to bitcointalk, I have learned a lot of knowledge, not just crypto.
Shitposts should not be the reason for your departure. I found that most of your posts are in Politics & Society. To be honest, Politics & Society is very clean and very few shitposts, I also often read other people’s posts there.
The merit system has blocked most of the shitposters, although I am newcomer, I can realized, because I saw a many people begging for merit at Beginners & Help and usually they all failed. So I think that what you are worried about is moving in the right direction, this is the reason why you should not leave, and you are also very helpful for newcomers, many beginners here need your help.
By the way, if you have to wait until BTC hits $1 million to come back, it seems to me that you have given up on the forum because BTC hits $1 million is unlikely to happen. I suggest that if you really want to leave for a while, then you can come back when BTC hits $50,000.
Anyway, this is your choice, good luck!

Just Millennials? I think everyone has such delusion.
The desire for wealth is irrespective of age, which is the nature of humanity.
