Lol, To much netflix could create fantasy so better minimize watching that since in real life there's no one will notice on bitcoin since if you look on current situation even if there's no war still we can see it unnoticed by many chines and american
Firstly, I have no idea which Netflix movie or show you are referring to here. Secondly, the governments would probably try to gain control of BTC since it is basically money in a digital format and money wins wars.

What good would it do if China hacks Bitcoin? Bitcoin doesn't belong to any country.
Op does have a point here. Even if BTC is decentralized and doesn't belong to any specific country, it is still money which itself is the most important resource when waging wars.

Simple answer... no.  As we can see China will rather focus its monetary fund for warfare than spending billions of dollars hacking the Bitcoin Network.  It is illogical to hack Bitcoin in the middle of a war.
The Chinese government could actually execute the 51% attack if they possess their own quantum computers secretly hidden away. The same could be mentioned about the USA. BTC could prove to be a valuable resource though the scenario that op described seems impossible.

Thank you for your answer. You seem to see the larger theater given the conditions I proposed.

Does the US make any components anymore?

Are we already a vassal state of China?

The whole picture changes if BTC goes to 10 trillion. That kind of money topples governments or the government topples the miners within it borders.

Bitcoin's protocol doesn't just rely on the idea that no one will get 51% of hashpower to avoid getting attacked, the point of PoW is to make attacks so expensive that it would deter attackers from doing it. So, theoretically miners could try it, but it would be hard to profit from it, and it won't be sustainable in the long run. Also, from the point of view of miners, it's like killing your goose that lays golden eggs - if their attack is successful, it would cause panic and drop the price, thus reducing their profits from mining.

that only considers bitcoin's mining incentives. the real danger of highly concentrated mining inside china's borders are incentives that are external to the bitcoin protocol.

here is one possible motive for such an attack: the chinese government forcing miners and mining pools to attack the network under threat of imprisonment.

now you might say this is an unlikely scenario, and maybe you're right, but it exemplifies the problem of thinking about this issue purely in terms of the bitcoin protocol. if the chinese government wanted to crush confidence in bitcoin this is one possible option---and since they can leverage the capital of miners (instead of their own) they can do it at virtually no cost.

This answer is closer to the point. In a time of WAR, the Chinese miners would be funded by a war effort to destroy Bitcoin.

I bought Bitcoin when it was 80 bucks. I sold it for around 600 bucks and bought Ethereum when it was 30 cents pre launch.

I turned 1000 buks into 1.5 million cash out. I could have made 30 million had I held my Ethereum.

Im back into crypto and just waiting to cash some out in about 16 months.

Biggest lesson. If I had not traded into Ethereum, I never would have made what I did, but I over traded things.

I cant trade, but I was early.

My Ethereum balance on CT for Poloniex is WAY off. Anybody know the cause? In fact most of my balances on CT are way off for Poloniex, Binance and Bittrix.

Hello, i'm using coin-tracking to simply understand how much profit am i at given my buys/sells/trades. One thing i am confused about is "Current Balance" on the dashboard. It is showing the total number of coins i've ever purchased and doesn't seem to reflect the total coins i am holding right now (i.e. somehow not reflecting sells). Is this expected?

I am having the same problem.

I imported about 19000 trades.

I have about 3 years of trading to get in the software. I paid for the premium package.

My gains seem quite high.

Do I need to import all my wallets to get these gains reduced?

I mean, am I missing any critical info other than the trades from my exchanges to calculate my tax?

Another thing is...  Why do you - bittrex - allow deposits knowing that unverified accounts cannot withdraw? Are you planning something? This is really suspicious! Wake up people, find better place than bittrex.

The worse scenario is when someone is verified and cannot withdraw.  Ridiculous.

Bittrex you should say something in public, are you  afraid to say we are sorry? And deal with your issue to keep your customers at least assured the money deposits are secure?

They did send a private email saying they will fix it but fuck me after months of not saying anything only 1 shitty mail telling people they will fix it? No official statement in any social media/web, somewhere? I don't know, just unprofessional.

They got Vincent Briatore account unstuck today, but he is a big shot over on Utube. You got be a big shot. You gotta have some weight. My ticket is #564123. Hey, they can fix your account if they think you can harm there business. Vincent is a big time trader - I guess they help who they want is all.

Legal action needs to be taken. Ryan Henz is also Ryan Pumper - they pump coins and then send us a letter from their CEO that they are looking for suspicious trades? PLEASE GIVE ME A BREAK. I got 90k stuck on there and I want to just go ahead and meet with their legal team and get my money back! Trading in their 4 years with no problems.

The depth of their scam has already been exposed by the numerous testimonials coming forward across all platforms.  The question is now what can be done about it...

I have been stuck as well, same as all describe. My ticket # is 609639. People are still trading on Bittrex because not enough have bee hurt by it. People are desperate to trade and will continue until.

Anybody know how to contact them legally? I'm ready to sue for damages.

Ryan Hence ("Ryan Pumper") Is one of the owners. He pumps coins in here and then Bittrex has the gall to send out a letter to traders that they are looking for suspicious pumping activity. Then I get this letter that myetherwallet staff says I have suspicious activity. Now I here that was a "fishing" letter.

Looks like massive corruption going on. Hard to know anything. Nobody seems to be able to bring them to heel.

I had a 'Legacy' type account on Bittrex (more than 18 months old) which effectively had a limitless daily withdrawal limit.
I never had any withdrawal problems in the past and used to deposit and withdraw substantial amounts of btc without
any hassles. Recently I deposited btc to trade alts and when i tried to withdraw i discovered that my account type had been
changed from 'Legacy' to 'New' and that i now had a ZERO (0) withdrawal limit! Note that at the time I made these crypto
deposits (over the last couple of months) there was NO WARNING whatsover that my account type had been changed to New
and that I now had ZERO withdrawal capability! (Due to the outcry about this disgusting deceitful behaviour I see
Bittrex NOW has a warning once logged in that says you cannot withdraw anything due to being 'unverified'... TOO LATE
to put that notice up now!! It should have been put up there the second they changed my withdrawal limit to zero and
my account type to New so that i could back then decide for myself whether i still wanted to deposit funds knowing i
would then need to give up my privacy and get 'verified'.  These scumbags took that choice away from me and are
now holding my funds hostage to extort me for my personal information!

This is totally unacceptable and is nothing short of entrapment and plain theft.

I figured i'd do Basic Verification but this did not work - no surprises there after researching the problem and found that
NOBODY is getting it right to complete Basic Authentication anymore... so Basic Authentication is a joke! in fact it's just
a trap that Bittrex has laid out in which they use the info you input into Basic Verification against you after they purposefully
fail it and then coerce you into doing Advanced Verification ... and then if there is ANY mismatch between the info you
entered in Basic compared to Advanced then you are screwed and it can take months (if you're lucky) to get Bittrex Support
to manually verify you. Note that there is no option to review your Basic verification info or update it afterwards ... this
is by design to trap you into a position whereby you upload all your docs for Advanced verification but get this failed anyway
due to some mismatch (no matter how trivial) so still no withdrawal ability even although you have uploaded more than
enough personal info to allow identity theft. Do you trust Bittrex with your personal ID documents when this is how they operate??

I refuse to give in to this extortion by Bittrex and am not prepared to do Advanced Verification due to the shady way they
went about entrapping me (no warning) into depositing crypto all the while changing my account type and withdrawal limits
to zero stealthily without my knowledge! This is the lowest of low i have ever encountered - not even Poloniex pulled this kind of devious sh1t!
I opened a Support ticket regarding this but get no response.

i'll be joining the class action against Bittrex for sure due to their unacceptable shady behaviour and their use of my
deposited funds to extort all my personal ID info from me against my will!

If there are any decent human beings left then please give me my coins back

I have had an account with them for about 4 years. Had a 1,334 BTC limit. They locked me out. I recently got a note from them saying myetherwallet staff flagged me as having suspicious activity. I have no idea what is going on. Looks like Bittrex is going to hurt a lot of people including myself. I have about 7 btc on there. This hurts bad when people hurt others. My ticket # 564123 is not fixed. They accept my enhanced verification but won't except my basic verification. Nothing has changed.

According to the link below dated October 24th - the new GUI/wallet will not be available for another week which around November 1st.

https://blog.iota.org/gui-v2-5-2-latest-release-with-iota-reclaim-tool-32d364d6241a

Unfortunately, for United States holders on the Bifinix exchange - Bitfinix will be closing all US accounts around Nov 11th. Lets hope Bitfinix can accommodate US holders of IOTA and provide a remedy - otherwise, we got a situation brewing.

I would just like to get my wallet so I can take my coins off Bitfinix before they close US accounts.

Patience and cool heads will hopefully prevail.

I must say I bought IOTA months ago and have been meaning to set up my wallet. Now with this Bitfinix announcement - well ,,,, I'm hoping some humanity be provided by all parties involved.

Maybe Bitfinix could issue me a voucher for my IOTA.

I will ask them.

Hi guy

Today, I try to use IOTA Light Wallet 2.5.1.

But , I can not use IOTA Wallet .

It always inform "could not connect to remote node" .

How can i fix it ?    or   Is there another way to transfer IOTA  at IOTA wallet ?

I believe they were doing some bugfixes and the network should be working normally again soon.  They are releasing a new wallet update so I think we will have to download that then generate addresses to restore balances.

For the light wallet (when it is revamped - hopefully tomorrow) - I see a long list of nodes to choose from. Which node should I choose? Any of the ones on the list? My coin is still on Bifinex - should I choose the Bifinex NODE?

Thanks
