Heads up.

X13 pool disabled for a bit here (hopefully so miners failover).

There are very few X13 coins currently in POW phase, and those that are have abysmal profitability (sub 1% LTC).  If anyone has some suggestions of coins, feel free to throw them out.

There goes my x11 vs x13 test... x13 was in the lead by 25%... Shame about no coins being left...

Sorry Smiley

Figured it was better to have miners get alerted (or silently failover to another algo/pool) than show up 12hrs later and be like "why is this at 1% LTC... wtf"

Good call. I'd rather nothing at all than a massive power bill.

already sold at 952 after buying at 661. happy with the gain and can sleep without being afraid of a roller-coaster Smiley
Should have waited a bit longer Smiley ... Now 1210+ ... I'm selling off slowly.   I'll wait for the big reaping as PoW gets almost to end.  Then expect it to continue to rise for a day maybe and then fall hard and re-buy at penny store prices LOL.

I know but one of my trading rules is "don't be greedy" Smiley I made 30% on that trade and I went to bed. Of course I could have waited but I prefer small steps and relaxing sleep time. What went up fast could have gone down equally as fast.

I went a step further and stopped trading altogether. Nice not losing hair in clumps every morning. Long live WP.

when x11 came out it was true thats it was ~40% cooler than scrypt, but since then an improved miner was released and it's now more like 10-20% cooler only.

On Scrypt my rigs were using ~240kwh per day, on X11/X13 they're using ~140kwh, so it still seems to be 40% less energy usage, at least for me.

Many people are missing all the team did.

As soon as VeriCoin was alerted they shut off Veri-bit ect and secured the coin from every way possible. Including an unpopular descision to protect its community from a thief. End of Story, VeriCoin is here to stay, and its here to change the way people view crypto. Live with it.

I thought the point of crypto was that it couldn't be shut-off by just a few people?

Forgot to post this here aswell..

EDIT: Forgot to mention this BIN file is for 7950 or 280X cards, haven't tried it with any others!

If you're on 14.4 drivers and don't want the hassle of going to 14.6, just download this guys BIN file (I had to modify the BIN filename from 8192 to 8191 as that's the TC I use). I've got a 20% boost overall:

Delete that .bin created on 14.4 driver and copy this one. Its made on 14.6, 100% working  Wink
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z2igfbzxeqrtly0/x11modTahitiglg2tc8192w256l4.bin

I'm running Windows 7 with the 14.4 v3 mod drivers, lasybear's miner (sgminer_x11x13mod_03_06_2014.zip), and Pencha's BIN file.

I have 6 GPUs per machine and get 3.7 m/hash per card @ 1080/1500.

I pulled it out after I started having issues, and I have used it before on this rig for much longer periods of time with no issues.  PSU could be bad,  but it looks/sounds/smells ok.

Are you installing just the barebones driver? Best practice is to clean all drivers off the system, then run the AMD installer, wait for it to extract, then cancel the installer. Then go to your Device Manager and right click the card, manually install the driver, that way you get none of the AMD junkware.

I use AMD Cleanup 1.2.1.0 with Windows 7, but you must not use it with Windows 8 as it will corrupt the OS. This looks like it could work:

http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=379505

Anyway here are the instructions for installing barebones drivers:

Quote
Go to Start Menu > Control Panel > System > Device Manager > and expand 'Display adapters'.

Right click the display adapter that corresponds to a Radeon 280X and click 'Update Driver Software...'

Click 'Browse my computer for driver software'.

Click 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'.

Click 'Have Disk...'.

Paste the following path into the 'Copy manufacturer's files from:' box:

C:\AMD\Support\14-4-win7-win8-win8.1-64-dd-ccc-whql\Packages\Drivers\Display\WB6A_INF

Click 'OK'.

Select 'AMD Radeon HD 7800 [or 280] Series'.

Click 'Next'.

Your screen will flicker while the driver is installed. This may take a while.

Eventually you will see 'Windows has successfully updated your driver software'.

Click 'Close'.

Hmm, glad that it worked for you guys. I tried that both with lasys and the "14.6fixed" miners,  didn't see an increase on my 7950s though.

I think that it might be a problem with win8.1 and the 14.4 drivers because I noticed that I actually lost about . 1Mh per card after "upgrading" from win8 to 8.1 and running 14.4 modded driver (I have six cards) and lazys miner like I had been.

I'm running Windows 7 with the 14.4 v3 mod drivers, lasybear's miner (sgminer_x11x13mod_03_06_2014.zip), and Pencha's BIN file.

I have 6 GPUs per machine and get 3.7 m/hash per card @ 1080/1500.

How much are you getting currently?

You are right that no link should be trusted, however I think the 2 warnings on Virustotal are caused by the site the file is hosted on (http://puu.sh) as just scanning http://puu.sh brings up the same warnings:

Not working with my 6 GPU rigs unfortunately (only 4 GPUs are usable). The drivers will need to be modded if you have 5+ GPUs.

However, this *should* work, I haven't had a chance to try it yet:

https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=11761.msg185847#msg185847

I attempted to follow along from the original post and made this for the "14.6-Beta-V1.0-Windows-May23" download that you can grab currently from AMD. I only made 2 .infs that replaced the two in \Packages\Drivers\Display\WB6A_INF.

I initially tried it without cleaning out the files and it failed. I would recommend following the OP's post on clearing out the files here: https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=11001.msg79830#msg79830

I installed the same way as suggested in that post. I installed with fewer than 3 cards installed at the time. Afterwards I hooked the rest of them up and finally had 6 cards (r9 270s on Windows 8.1) working. I needed the 14.6 drivers as this miner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=658411 is optimized for them and now my r9 270s are hashing ~2.5-2.7 Mh/s on x11mod kernel.

Anyhow, try these at your own risk: http://www.filedropper.com/146modtest       * fixed link

Cheers

At least we had a good few days recently to pad out the lost earnings.

Not sure how feasible this is, but perhaps you should talk to a few of the exchanges and, considering how much they earn from you in exchange fees, see if they would provide chain information from their API. After all they have lost out too..
