Hey ryan I just wanted to ask seeing as you guys always climb into the best coin at a very early stage, i noticed the first recommendation for XBS was 3068 Satoshis and it has touched 151,890 since then so thats something crazy like a 4,850% profit for long-timers in the group

I just wanted to ask you what exactly you look at to pick coins like this that will have long stints in the limelight?

i was wondering if you could take me on for two months? Like under a mentoring type of setup where i could learn from you directly? Maybe we can talk for 2 hours a day and you can teach me every single thing that matters about manipulation and bots and the whole nine? I am very interested in learning crypto so that I can have some independence and not have to rely on someone else for help? I will make it extremely worth your while, I will pay any amount just let me know how possible this is and if you are willing. It will be a major help for me

thank you

(i have sent a dm to join for the picks for next week too by the way)

Replace "powerful group of traders" with "flock of sheep" who will give you 0.5 BTC fee + fill your pockets with profit when you signal them to buy the coin you are selling.

Amazing how people fall to this childish rhetoric.

I have never paid ryan anything ever not once. But he helped me with HZ in feburary so maybe what your saying is true
but from what i know with my own personal experience he is a stand up guy.
I made 6 btc with HZ so i will give credit where its due

thanks for helping destroy my childlike reasoning snr.pumpington Cheesy ysterday felt like i bought back 50 wasted hours i have spent trying to figure this paradoxical market out
even though i still feel like a terminally hopeless trader it looks like thars light' the end of that there tunnel LOL
i woke up and saw a 6.4btc balance on bittrex and though it was a glitch Grin and there is still some active dust offers left behind
HZ gave me 118% profit and it was your words that prevented my weakhands from selling a loss, all hats of to mister pumpington

im not, nor have I ever been a part of this or any group of any sort, but I made 6 btc on HZ which I will accredit to what I have read in this thread
and to advice that I received from the man himself in a private message
if it weren't for this message I would have sold and been out of 2 btc

Here in bitcointalk a lot of members attain the Legendary status.

Yes there a lot of them who is a great help to a certain site.

But should we trust them in every thing they say?

Look at their trust first Tongue

...and also to his "activity" here in the forum ( the last post, the topics , etc... ).
No, activity is a very poor indicator of a person's ability to be trusted. The activity is only an indication of how much time they have spent here. If a person who was going to scam has spent a long time here then he will have had a lot of time to study the market and what people will and will not believe and what they will and will not invest in.

If you are referring to quality of posts then it will only be an indicator of intelligence, and there are plenty of smart people who are scammers

Not the activity point (or activity counter) , I mean the activity = contribution here in the forum Wink. If you have contributed I don't think you will scam anyone.
Have you heard of tradefortress?

Was the allegation of him attempting to hire a hitman ever substantiated?

No!
It is all but certain it will not be. It is not an allegation in the current case (although there is a separate MD case that will be heard after the one in regards to him running silk road).

Additionally to be fair, no case has been heard yet and no evidence/testimony has actually been presented in court.

Hello!

Let's have a little look back moment together.

When did you first heard/read about BTC and when did you start getting into it?

I imagine there will be a low of spam on this thread, but here you go.

I first heard about bitcoin several years ago while reading about silk road. I visited the site and learned that they only accept bitcoin (at the time this was Huh to me). Reading more about it I saw that Ross/DPR would guarantee the fiat value of bitcoin in the event of a dispute with a vendor (and a refund was processed) or at least they gave the option for this. I believe this was back in 2011. Unfortunately I did not do any additional research as to how bitcoin works nor how to mine bitcoin at this time.

I read about both Silk Road and bitcoin probably at least 10-15 times from then to mid to late 2013 when I finally decided to get more "into" bitcoin and purchased some at higher levels then the market is showing now.

It wouldn't be good for your business if you exclusively accept bitcoins. You can't exclude fiat yet because most people still transact in fiat, and most things you buy are still in fiat.
I agree. I think a better idea for the OP would be to accept bitcoin via coinbase and offer, say a 4% discount for customers who pay in bitcoin. I would estimate this to be the lower bound of the effective cost of accepting credit cards (after accounting for fraud and charge backs). This would result in the merchant having the same profit on a per sale basis, however would potentially be able to gain market share due to the permanent discount.

Re: Random 0.00001 BTC from Laxo Trade?
by
psudoBTC
on 28/09/2014, 04:10:09 UTC
Anyway, here's a test, start paying!:
I had checked several of your addresses that you posted and they all had received at least .00001 BTC from laxo.
You are correct, I just imported the privkeys, and except for the first address (which may have been missed because of parsing errors when scraping) every single one of the 1600 addresses I posted was paid 0.00001 on 9/25 over a half-hour period, in the order that they appeared in the post, for a total of 0.01599 BTC.

Note that for a standard txfee of 0.0001, this is unspendable dust money; 1000 satoshis vs about 3000 satoshi min fee to send them based on the data size of a transaction. Spending all 1600 at once is also a non-standard transaction larger than MAX_STANDARD_TX_SIZE. You don't really want this dust, and because of the difficulty most will have spending them and the number of recipients included in one transaction, Laxo trade is spamming up the blockchain with what will be unprunable transactions.
How did you create/import that many addresses?

Since the inputs are essentially unspendable would you consider donating them to the miners, I believe I read about someone making some kind of script that allows you to essentially make a no output TX (the effect is that the miner that includes the TX in the block receives the entire amount in TX fees, although I am not sure how well this would work with that many different addresses/inputs). Another option would be to try to send a .0001 TX to yourself and include a .01598 TX fee, this may or may not get confirmed but I would only imagine that any pool with smart enough custom TX policy would include this TX in a found block.

EDIT: another option would be to wait however long it takes for the number of TXs to increase enough so that the standard TX fee would have decreased - this would likely accompany a much higher bitcoin price and likely a lower block subsidy - there is no clear cut time-frame for this to happen but you would simply need to wait long enough for the rules to change over time.

A third option would be to wait several months (or several years) so that the last time the inputs have been spend would be as long, giving them otherwise higher priority to have a TX that consolidates the inputs to get confirmed. You would likely need to wait long enough so that the rules that most pools follows changes (or get lucky and a pool like eligius that allows non-standard TXs to be confirmed will confirm your TX)

EDIT2: Looking at the TX that send the .00001 to 1PA16Zr4tAriJr6ZUKhBpMHNVuyaWxWBxC (a random of your addresses) it looks like they sent ~.42 BTC, which, IMO is a lot just for advertising that may or may not be effective. I personally think it would be more effective to spend this money on a signature campaign or advertising on the forum
