hi all

Thanks for the instructions beastlymac, i followed them on my laptop and i seem to have it working Cheesy.

Now i have 3 questions for anyone that may be able to help

 - will there be support for CGminer? - if so what do we need to do different?

 - cpu miner is not showing the KH that sits at 0, but its accepting shares and working (as i can see hash rate on pool stats)?

 - Can we somehow downclock this and run lowerspeed to make it quiet?. i live in a flat so i dont care too much about a large hashrate i just want it to be quiet, i can manage to probably downclock the fan myself - how do we check the temp and whats a safe temp?

Thanks

i wouldn't mind buying a few more if the option comes up.
obviously at a lower BTC rate due to the price rise
or i can pay in fiat if that suits too.

mine are currently showing in CG
2.5
2.7
3.1

they keep fluctuating between 1.9 - 3.4, they move around alot, think this might be CG miners fault though - not sure, im not over clocking, im running stock.

well probably looks really messy but figured how to start at boot with making a "bfgminer" file in the /etc/init.d dir
i have little linux exp so this probably looks like garbage but works.

 #! /bin/sh
# /etc/init.d/bfgminer

### BEGIN INIT INFO
# Provides:          bfgminer
# Required-Start:    $remote_fs $syslog
# Required-Stop:     $remote_fs $syslog
# Default-Start:     2 3 4 5
# Default-Stop:      0 1 6
# Short-Description: Simple script to start a program at boot
# Description:       A simple script from www.stuffaboutcode.com which will start / stop a program a boot / shutdown.
### END INIT INFO

# If you want a command to always run, put it here

/usr/bin/bfgminer -o stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -u ***address here -p pass -S bitfury

# Carry out specific functions when asked to by the system
case "$1" in
  start)
    echo "Starting bitfury"
    # run application you want to start

    ;;
  stop)
    echo "Stopping bitfury"
    # kill application you want to stop

    ;;
  *)
    echo "Usage: /etc/init.d/bfgminer {start|stop}"
    exit 1
    ;;
esac

exit 0

===============

than run these 2 to get it to exec

sudo chmod 755 /etc/init.d/bfgminer

sudo update-rc.d bfgminer defaults

========

now to schedule reboot!

Bitfury stable/rpi?
by
psyberwolf
on 17/11/2013, 01:59:57 UTC
hi all,
   I currently running 7x bitfury's on my Rpi under bfgminer 3.0.99. BFGminer seems to just stop every 24 hours or so and the USB's get sick, if i restart BFGminer all seems ok and the sicks start mining again..just wondering if anyone knows and easy way i can do the following

run bfgminer on startup
set a script to reboot the pi every 24 hours.

should the sticks be doing this?. dunno if its the version of BFG or the sticks doing it,.
ive done a bit of fiddling around but figured someone may have already set this up so might as well ask.

Thanks,
Brendan.
