So what just happened over the past 24h then? Will it be coming back down again any time soon? Or have we recovered that quickly?

At about the time you posted, about 9:30 Central time, lots of people lost contact with eligius.  The solution in my case was to change from mining.eligius.st  --->  stratum.mining.eligius.st

That did the trick. Thanks mate!

I'm utterly baffled here...

I've started getting the dreaded "Socket connect failed: Connection refused" error, for no apparent reason. The rig was mining just fine for the longest time (with the occasional reset, etc) via Eligius, until all of a sudden it stopped mining. Neither restarting nor resetting worked this time around.

I updated to ckolivas' latest stable firmware, opting to keep my existing settings, but I still get this output in the Cgminer API Log:

[Firmware Version] => 20130821
cgminer-70bc62c
luci-d854edc+
cgminer-openwrt-packages-800cc58
Socket connect failed: Connection refused

However, I can ping sites from Network > Diagnostic with no problems (even at each point when trying the troubleshooting methods I attempted, noted below). So the rig is definitely connecting to the Web. That's not the issue. Cgminer just doesn't seem to want to work. I'm stumped.

I've been through this thread seeking possible solutions from others who've encountered this error, and it seems like none of what worked for them wants to work for me.

Here's all that I've tried:
  • Wired the rig and my PC to a different router. It wasn't working at first, but after I fiddled with the router settings a bit (no idea what I tweaked) it started mining for about 30 seconds, then back to nil.
  • Reseated connections inside the rig, and made sure the USB connections were tight. To no avail.
  • Installed CK's latest firmware but kept existing settings/configuration. No cookie.
  • Disabled DHCP on the rig. A static IP of 192.168.1.100 was previously set and in use when it was working fine. I changed it to 192.168.1.101 to see if that helped. Nada.
  • Tried changing Cgminer config settings. I dropped frequency back down to 256, and removed everything from More Options. Fail.
  • Have Not Tried: Factory Reset (whether via backend or the hardware button). It was such a pain to set this thing up initially, I was hoping to try any other possible tips first in hopes that I wouldn't have to reset the thing after all.

I'm striking out here. Anyone care to chime in with other possible tips or things to try before I lastly resort to a full reset?

Sold him a coin without escrow. Smooth transaction. He sends PP after a single confirmation. Keep your blockchain transaction ID handy so he can watch it.

Someone Pay For My Threadless Order For Coins (Before 10am CDT)
by

I'm looking to "spend some coins" on Threadless.com but since they don't accept coinage, I'm offering to do an exchange instead. You pay for my order and have it shipped to me, and I'll send you an agreed upon amount of coinage. The sale ends today at 10am Central Time, so we'd need to work quickly.

My total order amount, with shipping, is estimated to be around $60. Happy to use escrow, and release coins upon receipt of valid Threadless order number, rather than waiting until items are physically received.

Anyone game?

Re: What's Your Avalon Batch 3 Order Number?

Someone speculated that order numbers are generated each time someone adds to cart or goes to pay, but payment fails.
Since there were 900 actual orders between batches 1-2 (presumably up to order 4500), I speculate that an actual order is placed only every 5 orders, meaning the 600 from batch 3 won't fill up until about order number #7500.

“without power supply” option highly encouraged as it is known to have less problems in customs!

Wish I'd known that before ordering! I don't think I can cancel now. I just didn't want to deal with having to order one separately... :\

I'm curious if there are any that are adjacent (4321, 4322, 4323, etc), or if they jump in fixed amounts.

Mine is 5765, which seems kinda high considering they started around 45XX...

Why not post your Ouija Board results while you're at it. I'm sure it'd be much more accurate. Tongue
Try asking it questions like "What day and time will the big bitcoin selloff occur?"

I don't think this is the place to ask about that. Try opening a new thread.
However, just FYI, no BFL ASIC devices have been released at all... probably won't be yet, not for some time.

I'm no noob to BTC. Been investing in it since around this time last year. There is however I guy in the marketplace selling stuff on Amazon that I'd like to talk to. He's in the Marketplace forum. Any chance I could get approval to post over there, or should I waste two more posts in threads here first? Smiley

Somehow I don't think 5 posts will hold back the trolls. As for me? I'm more of a lurker. I've been around since about this time last year, just never joined in on the conversation until now... :\

I'm purefusion. Been investing in BTC since around this time last year. Decided to pick up some more. I tried to flip some of my stash, but as it turns out I'm a terrible speculator, and lost I some money trying to flip over the weekend with some bad timing, so I've decided to just buy and hold.
