Getting a lot of "Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC", even though the site seems to be up and everyone else says it's working.
I'm also seeing a much lower hashrate on the site than I should be.

Is it just me or is the site still fritzing?

Edit:
Doesn't seem to be happening with any other pools so I'll just assume it's a problem on their end.

The drivers aren't bad - why people still say that is likely because the installer looked like crap. It still looks bad, and there are plenty of issues installing drivers for older ATi hardware, but current AMD videocards tend to work well...though there are sometimes still installer problems Sad

People equate driver tweaking UI == driver

I always hear horror stories about people having to go through a long and pain-in-the-neck process just to get the drivers installed correctly, not to mention bugs such as the cursor corruption and having idle clocks so low the computer crashes. Not to mention the few times I've used computers with ATI cards there were huge problems with even simple things like video playback.

If none of this has happened to you then hey, congrats. Maybe those were just isolated incidents. I do think they put more effort into their cards than their software though.

AMD's drivers have always been notoriously bad, boot into safe mode before installing.

I've been mining on two different computers with windows 7 just fine.
Use Neereus's link.

That's odd... you're using the same flags in both cases? If so, can you try running the poclbm.exe that comes with the GUI and see if that does the same thing? I don't have an Nvidia card to test on but I haven't heard of anyone else with your problem.

Ah, I figured it out. For some reason running a cpu miner at the same time caused the speed to drop, but only when the console window running the GPU miner was in the background.
Since the gui didn't have the console window it got treated as always being in the background and wouldn't run at full capacity.

I didn't notice it before because I always had the GPU miner in the foreground.

Is there actually a way to set what % of power GPU should use for hashing?

I supposed you could limit it by setting -w to something ridiculously low

Looks like people are still confused with two existing reward distributhing modes, so now i'm working on third one.
Hope you'll like it.

I kind of wish it would automatically select the option with the greatest payout based on your hash speed, although I suppose that would be less than ideal for the pool.

I have a problem with the gui, it only seems to max out the GPU at around 30% even though the non-gui version maxes out at 100%
I'm using an Nvidia card with the latest drivers and windows 7.
