No. The 1.0.0 wallet is still the same one that is on GitHub. The dev is updating the source code though. When there is a new build ready, he will let us all know.

Wise move dev, better to get it working properly, may just save the coin. Bring in them high reward blocks earlier too whilst you're at it :-)
Ya no doubt like only the first maybe 100 blocks should be 1 coin rewards and then bring on them highstakes

No, you just run the new wallet with your wallet.dat.
