Bitcoin is convenient for international wire. However, bitcoin is used more as a payment approach, and in this case, tens of minutes is too long, think about you want to buy something and you have to wait tens of minutes for the payment to go through.

This question makes me think that what happens when most bitcoins are mined out, and gradually less and less bitcoin exist in the world because some people lost their private key when they pass away or by some other reasons.
