Negative news seems to affect the price a lot. Gives it the biggest swings. Bbbb.

the biggest thing that affects the price of BTC is simply the number of users that every day decide to join BTC. More users more buy orders.

Mt Gox got robbed?  I think its more like Mt Gox is robbing.
+1 ,,, wait ---  Ponzi Scheme?

For me is not a ponzi scheme. For me Gox is increasing its security because it is implementing LITECOIN on its platform. It's just a guess Smiley

ASICs for LTC and its impact on price
by

on 23/11/2013, 20:03:44 UTC
Hi everybody. The next year will come out the new ASIC to mine LTC. It isn't cheap so.. For me the price of LTC will go down because the first thing a guy (that have bought a so expensive hardware) will do, is to sell every LTC that he had mined to regain the money spent. Are you agree with me? If not why?  Grin

Re: Bubble phases

That bubble phases chart makes me nuts and I just figured out why.

In most bubbles I can think of the resources were not bounded.

  • Tulips: Just grow more
  • Housing: Just build more
  • Stock Market: Just issue more

Feel free to add to my list.   Does this make sense?

Re: Closed Trading Structures. Price Manipulation?
by
qu.fadep

Is the last rising of Bitcoin a sign of starting closed trading structures?

Example:

The daily volantlity is about 5.000 Bitcoins.

Some people build up a group, which own´s 10.000 Bitcoins.

Through that difference of Bitcoins they can make the price fall or rise, like they want...by selling or buying among themselves.
->The Bitcoins stay in a closed trading Structure.

Is that just a silly thought or theoretical possible?

Thx

ALT COIN is the solution..

Re: Relation between the markets
by

There isn't really a relationship.  They are just different markets to trade on.  All markets should even out after time as markets that have lower BTC prices will see increased demand, while higher prices might see a reduction until parity.

Supply/Demand will cause all markets to remain constant.  There really isn't any barriers minus the ability to fund/withdraw from them.

Thanks. And why some traders decide to buy/sell according to the price on BTC China ( the biggest market of BTC ) ? thanks

Connected to USD and BTC...
Mostly to BTC.

So when the BTC go up the LTC should rise in turn, isn't it ?

The BTC is connected with the USD (like gold): or when the US economy went throught a crysis period the BTC price rise up. What happens instead with LTC, they are linked with what? What rise up (or down) their price ? thenks

Re: Is PPC a better store of long term value than BTC
by
qu.fadep
on 10/11/2013, 19:07:24 UTC
If i understand correctly,
[1] PPC takes a lot less power to keep the system secure
[2] Transactions cost more, but you can mint to cover some of this
[3] Inflation is low, eg much lower than LTC, and similar to btc (not sure about this)
[4] inflation some what cancelled out by high transaction fees??

accordingly does PPC make a better long term storage of wealth than BTC?

For me the LTC will die than the PPC will reach at least 10 USB before 2015. BTC will never die but LTC is based on script that could be vulnerable. PPC has the same algoritm of BTC also it has the innovation of proof of stake. This is my opinion. Bye  Roll Eyes

Re: Whats happening to BTC ?
by
qu.fadep
on 10/11/2013, 19:00:09 UTC
Hi guys. Whats is lowering the BTC price ?  Undecided  Undecided maybe the china ?

Yes and no.

#1: We've had an epic growth period, time for a correction/consolidation.
#2: This is a weekend, market is less bullish on weekends.
     - Because people are doing other things
     - Because banks are closed, not processing transactions - no more fiat coming in to buy, but BTC can still be easily sold = sell pressure
#3: This is a long weekend, meaning at least in the US, people will have to wait until Tuesday before banks start processing deposits/wires.

So, I think these factors combine quite nicley to explain this drop. The fact that we're still ~ 300 is actually probably a good sign, as it appears to be more of a correction than crash.

If we resume the upward trend next week, it will considerably increase my confidence of the current price levels. I, for one, while sad BTC is not $50,000 at hte moment, am happy to see the end of the exponential price gains - it makes this much more realistic and sustainable. We shall see what happens next.

Thanks. I agree with you!
