Re: bitcoin vs world economy
by

Bitcoin represents an existential threat to the banking industry and even the monetary system itself. This may be why the mainstream news has reported the death of Bitcoin countless times over the years. It’s their attempt to scare people away and crush sentiment.
As we can see, Bitcoin is still alive and well and bigger than ever.

Re: How is Bitcoin different from Etherium?
by
queenstella
on 27/07/2018, 17:39:33 UTC
Bitcoin is a “cryptocurrency. while Ethereum is  a token.  Ethereum’s innovation is that it allows you to write Smart Contracts. Ethereum dramatically improves this model because it is digital, and proof of the transaction can never be deleted.
Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are competing against existing money (and gold) to replace them with a truly global currency.A global currency which allows individuals to own their own money (without having to rely on national banks).

Re: ATM machine for bitcoin reached kenya
by

Some Bitcoin ATMs offer bi-directional functionality enabling both the purchase of Bitcoin as well as the sale of Bitcoin for cash. In some cases, Bitcoin ATM providers require users to have an existing account to transact on the machine.
A Bitcoin ATM is a machine that allows people to buy Bitcoins with hard cash. Some machines allow selling of Bitcoins for money, but these kind of machines are often hard to come by.

Bitcoin offers us all the opportunity to ‘be your own bank’. But that isn’t just limited to storing your own digital money balance in an app or on your computer rather than on a bank’s computer systems. It can also extend to helping to provide financial services to your peers, such as currency exchange services, or becoming a currency trader – With these profit can be made using bitcoin

Re: Do you think Bitcoin will become the first world currency for buy and sell ?
by

Bitcoin, is not stopping at buying and selling, It is a transformational technology.
Bitcoin, which runs on an open-source network of computers, was founded to provide a way for people to exchange value for little cost, circumventing the cost and oversight of banks and governments.
The world ultimately will have a single currency, the internet will have a single currency. I personally believe that it will be bitcoin.

Re: What factors scare others from investing into bitcoin?

Some factors faced with Bitcoin is the challenge of making it  work with no central system and no one trusting anyone else. The blockchain’s life span is limited by a decade under current circumstances. The growth of HDD capacity definitely lags behind. the blockchain’s life span is limited by a decade under current circumstances.

Re: The dollar affects Bitcoin?
by
queenstella
on 25/07/2018, 16:38:42 UTC
Bitcoin is capable of volatility in the form of 10x changes in price versus the U.S. dollar, in a relatively short period of time
One reason why Bitcoin may fluctuate against fiat currencies is the perceived store of value versus the fiat currency.  Bitcoin has properties that make it similar to gold.
Bitcoin volatility is also to an extent driven by holders of large proportions of the total outstanding float of the currency.

Re: Can we compare Bitcoin with tulips?
by
queenstella
on 24/07/2018, 20:42:23 UTC
With Tulips prices were driven by greed or the fear of missing out. Speculators were buying bulbs in the hope that they could sell them on at an even higher price. Again, it didn't last.
Bitcoin values may well collapse the way tulip futures did, either on their own or due to government efforts. But the problems cryptocurrencies address will not disappear with that collapse. People will continue to pursue technological innovations to improve financial services.

Re: Poverty and its effects to the world
by

on 24/07/2018, 08:27:12 UTC
Poverty is an exceptionally complicated social phenomenon.   the effects of poverty are revolving, one result leads to another source leads to another consequence. To fully understand the effects of poverty, the causes have to be rooted out to develop strategies to end hunger and starvation for good.
millions suffer from poverty-related health conditions as infectious diseases ravage the lives of an estimated 14 million people a year and are of the top effects of poverty. These diseases are contracted through sources like contaminated water, the absence of water and sanitation, and lack of access to proper healthcare.

Re: Should we teach children to have businessman mentality or be successful employee

Entrepreneurship is not for everyone.
Your ability to sleep soundly at night could be at stake, either way. Some people crave security and would never be happy in the variable world of the entrepreneur.
To become a business owner, you must have access to financial capital that you can invest in the start-up. This creates a higher entry barrier to becoming an entrepreneur, than to simply taking a job as someone's employee.

it’s the future of money, privacy and payments, the end of greedy banks and the fall of government fiat currencies
They are safe, anonymous and utterly decentralized. Unlike conventional currency, they are not controlled or regulated by some singular authority, their flow is determined entirely by market demand

Re: Will the bitcoin be outdated by another currency?
by
queenstella
on 23/07/2018, 15:51:05 UTC
Bitcoin was designed as a digital currency. The technology allows only basic programming. This prevents bitcoin from being used in more complicated situations like for smart automatically executing contracts. Think of it like a calculator compared to a computer.
There are now over 1500 cryptocurrencies newer than bitcoin. These coins are more efficient, faster, and offer features that bitcoin lacks.

You and you alone are responsible for your cryptocurrencies and their security is only your concern. “ is the first and most important thing to know

The public key is the address that anyone can use to send you the money. On the other hand, the private key is what you will use to send money to anyone else. ONLY you should know what your private key is, remember that, and under no circumstances should you ever lose your private key. Otherwise anyone can use your wallet to send your money to any other addresses.

Clearly, from the popularity of Bitcoin, although limited uses still have quite a bit of value to a nontrivial number of people. I have no objection to the use of Bitcoin However, people should stop expecting it to become a currency that ordinary people use for ordinary transactions. It is destined to stay in its niche as a way to hide things or speculate. A currency, Bitcoin is not, nor shall it be.

Re: stupidity is so close to poverty
by

There are a lot of people living in poverty who I would classify ( based on my professional training) who have low intellectual function, undiagnosed learning disabilities, etc.  This would make getting out of poverty, planning ahead, managing finances, being literate much more difficult
On the contrary, it probably makes people more resourceful because they lack the easy access and comfort to items that others may see as commonplace but to them are luxuries.

Investors who make the right moves right now – before the announcement of this massive upgrade starts making headlines – will have the opportunity to make HUGE gains very quickly.bitcoin is much more risky than bank investments, but it's worth it, because bank investments will not earn much unlike bitcoin would. so i would say the risk is worth it

Re: Does modern civilization is currently progressing or declining?
by
queenstella
on 21/07/2018, 08:00:00 UTC
Our civilization appears to be advancing faster than ever. Yet anyone who looks will see the same.  The more advanced the community, the greater the intensity. Wages and interest fall, while rents rise. The rich get richer, the poor grow helpless, the middle class is swept away.
When the disparity of condition increases, democratic elections make it easy to seize the source of power. Many feel no connection with the conduct of government. Embittered by poverty, they are ready to sell their votes to the highest bidder or follow the most blatant demagogue. One class has become too rich to be stripped of its luxuries,Another class is so poor that promises of a few dollars will outweigh abstract considerations. A few roll in wealth, while the many seethe with discontent at things they don't know how to remedy.

I think that without the Merit system it was much easier to pump . to achieve a high rank...
Exactly! This is the main reason to bring merit on the table. Isn't it working fine now? One can be proud of telling the story that they became Legendary even after an evil like merit was invented by theymos  Tongue

Before merit, the forum was boring (My honest feedback).

Boring really?
