Did I miss something here?  what about bounty for FB, twitter etc.?  I have not found anything about it

IMO bounties offer questionable ROI

Could you please let us know more about your team and background? Personal achievements in the real estate industry? Do you have an office? How have you funded yourself so far?

ECTA core team is consisted of scientists and academics who created over 20 patents, worked on over 35+ international patents, and have over 100 million users of their digital products worldwide. The team collaborated with fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, SIEMENS, Bloomberg, UNESCO, and others.  We have been funded partially from the proceeds of existing platforms, ARK.io co-founders and partially from the ministry of technology of Slovenia. Yes, sure we do have office. Two actually.

It would be great to have more detailed information\evidence of your team having worked with these major corporations.

there is a "spec" for it on their site, what states: Daisy Chain   MAX 32 units.. .whatever this means, I am curious if anyone has some actual info on this! Smiley

go to B2 press release where some features are explained more completely.

Only requires plugging one of them into the internet, and the rest hook up to eachother

How do you evaluate a crypto whitepaper \ website?
by
quixote.moon
on 15/06/2018, 17:22:44 UTC
This is the second in a series of "How do you evaluate?" posts for each aspect of evaluating a cryptocurrency project.

The end-goal of this series is to develop an exhaustive set of research goals and evaluation practices for investigating a crypto\blockchain project. Once the exhaustive research goals are well detailed, we can break it down into: "The Short List," "Due Diligence," and "Exhaustive." In part, this is in response to the various ratings agencies with non-transparent evaluation guidelines.

This series of discussions will detail "How do you evaluate" the following categories:
  • ANN Post(s) \ BCT
  • Official Website(s)
  • Whitepaper
  • Project Background \ Technology Used \ Current State of the Project
  • Team
  • Github
  • Competitors \ similar projects
  • Partners \ who plans to use the tech
  • Community \ Network Effects
  • Advertising
  • Revenue
  • Roadmap \ History \ Upcoming Events (past\present\future)
  • Research guidelines specific to ICO phase \ pre-launch
  • The difference between evaluating a whitepaper for an Ethereum based project, and one with its own chain

For this post I've combined Whitepaper Evaluation and Website Evaluation because the website evaluation is a pretty small list.

Website

is it useful \ helpful \ professional? Is it missing info, broken? alexa ratings?

Is it informative enough to give you a good idea of what the goals are and how they will achieve them?

Does it have links to whitepaper github social media?

Who is it registered to, where is it registered?

Whitepaper - To be clear, this is simply for evaluating the presentation of the whitepaper. Evaluating the project itself, the team, etc will be in additional posts.

Grammar\Font (does it look professional or like flashy ad copy?)
Comprehensive?
Readable?
Transparent?

Does it make unverifiable claims?
does it look\read like a marketing tool\powerpoint?

Presentation of Tech and Business Plan
Does it make sense \ Is it understandable?
Does it contain:
* References
* Information about what team will do with tokens
* describes attacks against the cryptocurrency, and how they are countered
* describes the mathematics and cryptography adequately and technically

should include things like the consensus mechanism, total number of coins, inflation rate, block times, transaction fees.

shouldn't promise insanely good returns

I'll be very grateful if you can offer any additional advice or guidelines for evaluating the website and\or the whitepaper of a crypto-project. And please check out the other sections linked above. When complete we will have an ultimate set of research goals for evaluating crypto-projects, and be one step closer to a community standard.

How do you evaluate a cryptocurrency ANN thread?
by
quixote.moon
on 14/06/2018, 20:39:04 UTC
I'm working on a set of exhaustive research guidelines for evaluating a cryptocurrency project. Partially as a response to the various cryptocurrency ratings agencies, and evaluation initiatives, with non-transparent evaluation standards.

This is the first in a series of "How do you evaluate?" posts for each section or phase in evaluating a cryptocurrency project. As I create each new post, I will link them all together.

This series of discussions will detail the following categories:
  • ANN Post(s) \ BCT
  • Official Website(s)
  • Whitepaper
  • Project Background \ Technology Used \ Current State of the Project
  • Team
  • Github
  • Competitors \ similar projects
  • Partners \ who plans to use the tech
  • Community \ Network Effects
  • Advertising
  • Revenue
  • Roadmap \ History \ Upcoming Events (past\present\future)
  • Research guidelines specific to ICO phase \ pre-launch
  • The difference between evaluating a whitepaper for an Ethereum based project, and one with its own chain

Over the next few days, each bulleted point above will have it's own individual thread detailing the guidelines I've already collected, in hopes of crowd-sourcing crypto-vetting techniques, and eventually creating a complete and exhaustive set of research goals for investigating a cryptocurrency project.

Once the exhaustive guide is assembled, the intention is to create three tiers of research goals thereby establishing a community standard. 1. The short list 2. Due Dilligence 3. Exhaustive

For this post, please respond with any expansion on these research guidelines for evaluating a bct ANN thread, and its bitcointalk presence in general. Not necessarily the steps that take us away from bitcointalk, unless you think its very important to mention here.  This thread is for detailing the evaluation of an ANN post\thread, any other threads created for the project, as well as any other BCT presence the project has.

Also helpful would be if you can let me know if you think that I've left out any important section of crypto research in the above bulleted list.

ANN Thread(s) \ BCT

Collect a list of all relevant btc posts related to this project.
Also, include a link to bounty threads or any other official threads.
Links for any non-official threads about this topic if they exist and are significant.

Note author reputation

For younger projects \ ico phase:
Sending devs a personal message inquiring about the project to see how responsive they are may be a good idea.

Make note of presentation of the post, including images and spelling.
Make note of whether relevant links have been included in OP, as well as that they are all working.

I'd like to see links to chat\social media\github\whitepaper\website(s) on the ANN post

read through the thread to find out how responsive team has been to questions \ criticisms. make note of any significant anomalies with attention to forum rank of the message sender

Be aware of experienced writers comments, and also look for negative messages, sometimes it could be a warning sign. Use Select [All] to see all comments in the thread and use CTRL + F (Windows) to search for red flag words like ‘scam’, ‘con’, ‘MLM’.]

If multiple ANN posts for the same project, make note of the reason.  It might be that project leads are trying to sidestep detractors\scandal, or there has been a re-branding.

I'd like to hear some opinions on bounty threads as well. What makes a bounty a good what makes a bounty bad?

That's it, pretty short, but all I have for ANN Thread research goals. In the coming days I will continue with the process by creating new posts which will be connected by links. It's going to be a big guide by the end and will be easier to discuss in separate topics. I'm trying to generally keep the sections in order that project research might logically progress.

Any additional tips or guidelines you can offer on evaluating an ANN Post\thread(s) would be gratefully appreciated.

I'm looking for red flags or any other indicators that you might look for in the confines of bitcointalk.org.
Especially helpful would be things that you look for, but only if you encounter a particular warning sign.

Thank You!

Re: post quantum bitcoin?
by

But quantum computing is about as far fetched as teleportation (heck it may even be the same technology!) so I am extremely skeptical about it.
Quantum mechanics is utterly incomplete.
Physicists are starting to come to grips with possibility of the multiverse.

Time is but an illusion of mutual circumstance.
As virtual reality becomes more realistic, what reality do you really exist in?

Interestingly enough, quantum computing began to be developed specifically because our current computers are not powerful enough to model quantum processes.  A bit of a catch 22, we don't understand quantum reality so we need to use it to make computers that will explain it to us better Cheesy

yes of course that would be a fairly simple way to solve... I'm just curious that I've not heard about any blockchains doing so, especially with all of the Quantum hype... cryptos love to ride hype trains...

But seriously, it would make more sense to implement quantum resistant cryptography before a quantum computer is created than after. Although I suppose if the practice had developed very far we'd already be using them for everything.

Not that I think practical quantum computing is so close... but, ya never know.

post quantum bitcoin?
by
quixote.moon
on 28/05/2018, 17:16:34 UTC
I understand there is some movement in cryptography to create code that will be viable and secure in a world with quantum computers.

As skeptical as I am about the likelihood of practical quantum computing in the near future, it seems like a proactive approach would be appropriate for the entire blockchain sector.

I'm actually surprised I haven't seen any projects working in this direction. Then again, maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

Has the bitcoin developing community made any moves towards post-quantum algorithms?

[For Hire] Research, and Information-Dense Research Articles.
by
quixote.moon
on 28/05/2018, 05:26:20 UTC
Do you have the time and patience required to complete the research you need done?  I do.

I have a dedicated research ethic and attention to detail. When entrusted with a research project, I am more concerned about creating an exhaustive collection of facts than I am with how long that takes me.

While learning the ins and outs of content creation, my application of those qualities led me to get hired for research tasks by friends of mine, which inspired me to offer my services on Fiverr.

I'd be happy to work with you directly, for pay in cryptocurrency. On the other hand, you might enjoy the fact that Fiverr has a rating system and buyer protection.

https://www.fiverr.com/daviddoer/do-your-blockchain-and-cryptocurrency-research

I have a growing body of knowledge in global cryptocurrency regulations, consensus mechanisms, mining algorithms, ASIC rigs, smart contracts, and beyond. On Fiverr, I currently charge $15 per 2 hours of research. In actuality, I tend to work 1-2 hour beyond what's advertised to ensure customer satisfaction.

https://www.fiverr.com/daviddoer/research-and-write-bitcoin-blockchain-and-beyond

As far as my article writing goes, it all started because a friend was hosting a class on one of the popular online course websites. They were slammed with work, had way too much material to develop, and believe in my ability to create high-quality information-rich content. They commissioned me to write a few pieces, including 3500 words about Bitcoin blockchain and cryptocurrency for $225. That's a lot of words and gave me the opportunity to dive into the history of virtual currencies, their academic history, and how that all ties into the creation of bitcoin. I learned how to explain bitcoin mining in a concise, complete, and accurate fashion. That essay also covered 2nd generation blockchains (starting with Ethereum of course) that explore the possibilities of blockchain beyond currency, as well as 3rd generation blockchains which seek cross-chain communication, enterprise-grade performance, scalability, and more.

That work gave me greater confidence that my writing is good enough to offer in the freelance market, and have since secured a weekly gig writing for a tech blog. In the next week or so I will be able to provide links to that, I'm currently stockpiling a handful of articles for them before we begin publishing.

I had a gig up there for researching ICOs, which I recently paused as I'm in the process of polishing an exhaustive set of research goals for investigating a cryptocurrency and staying busy enough with the other gigs.

In brief that covers a review of ANN thread, project background and technology, website, whitepaper, team background and communication, regulatory compliance, GitHub activity, social media activity, and token economics.

Feel free to send me a message here if you're interested in working with me directly. Otherwise, you can feel free to reach out to me on Fiverr.

Smiley  Thank You.

I will do your blockchain reserach

I've been doing this type of work for a friend for many months because they respect my diligent approach to research.

Then I brought it to fiverr: https://www.fiverr.com/daviddoer/look-up-stats-on-10-icos

Now I'm bringing it to you.

We all know how much time and effort can go into researching blockchain.

Whether you are looking for information about an ICO to decide if its a good investment, looking for information about blockchain projects in a particular niche to see what the competition is like, or need industry facts to include in your whitepaper...

I've Got You Covered!

I do writing gigs too, but I prefer research.

I've only been on fiverr for a couple months, but I have only 5 star reviews, and am developing a decent portfolio.  You can check out my profile there for more information.

Projects I've worked on:

* Look up stats on 10 ICOs
* Find information about the cost, regulations, and legal representation for opening a cryptocurrency exchange in Canada.
* Write presentation material on blockchain and cryptocurrency.
* Write a 3500 word essay about Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrency.
* Write a 3500 word essay about machine learning.
* Find out the features of dating apps, and find out all information about any blockchain related dating apps already in existence.
* Find contact information and research specialties for academics in blockchain
* Find out all information possible about a particular smartcontract developing team.

I've spent countless hours reading through bitcointalk threads, whitepapers, etherscan, research papers. You know the feeling.

I collect all of the information you need and deliver in whatever format you require. On fiverr, I only charge $5 an hour as an introductory rate, until I get enough reviews.  I make every effort to ensure that I've gotten ever piece of information possible for you to feel satisfied with my work. The best way to do that is for us to have communication throughout the process to that I can be sure that I'm gathering the details that you need, and you can offer feedback to fine tune the results.

I will accept payment in most currencies.

Thank you for your consideration.

The project seems to be not bad. But, information is sorely lacking. There is not enough information about the team, I would like to take a look at the white paper, analyze the project.

of course, there is no whitepaper! there is no project.  but they know if they build this webpage and tell you where to send money, that people will do it.

Hahahahaha.  This is HILARIOUS!!!!!!  You want to recreate the idea of steemit, which is on one of the most efficient blockchains ever designed, and move it to ethereum!!!! Cheesy

This is such an obvious scam.  The scary part is people are going to actually give you money!
