As you may already be aware, an issue has been identified in the Dash network which came to a halt on May 22 at block #1874879. We understand the importance of maintaining a stable and secure network, and we are taking immediate action to address this matter.
New blocks have been consistently produced since approximately 2000 UTC on May 22.. In light of this situation, we strongly advise you to upgrade Dash Core without delay. Currently, over 75% of the network has already upgraded, and this number is rapidly increasing.

Visit the official Dash GitHub repository at https://github.com/dashpay/dash/releases/tag/v19.1.0to access the latest version, v19.1.0.

Recently Firo, former Zcoin had a 51% attack and it was possible to change/tamper data of 306 blocks(or so). What exactly is that? Is it like the guy who had control of 51% of the network had overwritten the block? How does anyone get benefitted from such an attack? What's the step to prevent such attack?

For the Firo team, the attack was only possible because the project was yet to deploy Chainlocks on the mainnet. A Chainlock is a secondary validation layer that reportedly
mitigates a 51% attack.

According to Yap, with Chainlocks activated, an attacker would need to control at least half of all Firo master nodes in addition to the usual 51% mining hash rate dominance.

Firo has reportedly completed the testing protocols for Chainlocks and is primed for its full deployment in the next few weeks. When integrated, Chainlocks will be the latest protocol
feature added to the project after activating the Lelantus upgrade.

This is bad and will likely turn investors towards other privacy coins like Monero. That is, if a team can't protect their blockchain and give hackers a taste of what it feels like, that is to say the platform will find it hard getting investors or users who will trust them henceforth, and considering it is a privacy coin which is believed to be decentralized, this is a bad one for them. Or maybe it could be that in the process of developing a new feature or protocol like the Chainlock as mentioned, they made a mistake thus giving hackers the loophole they are looking for. Nevertheless, I hope they come back stronger and better, while giving investors good reasons to keep trusting them while also using it for anonymous purposes.
