Dash Core v19 activated successfully on 6th of July 2023.
Evo Nodes have been popping up a few days later.
Currently there are 27 Evo Nodes operating on the Dash Network (you can either use the Dash Core wallet or the Dash Masternode Tool to view them)

In Dash Masternode Tool (DMT) it looks like this : https://i.imgur.com/29YaxPM.jpg

Each Evo Node get 4x masternode reward and can vote 4x
Each Evo Node needs to have a collateral of 4000 dash.
Currently Evo Nodes do not need to support Dash Platform (L2), they only need to support the Dash Network (L1)

Dash Testnet is currently on Platform v0.24, while devs work on both Platform v0.24 (with Javacript) and Platform v0.25 (Javascript stripped out of, to increase Platform performance)
Devs are also working on Dash Core v20 in Dash Github (Develop branche)

Most likely Dash Platform will launch on Mainnet with Platform v0.25 (better Platform performance & more bug fixes) and with Dash Core v20
When Dash Core v20 activates on Mainnet, Evo Nodes will be required to update, so that they can support both L1 (Dash network) and L2 (Platform)
Instead of receiving 4x masternode rewards, they get only 1x masternode reward and rest of the masternode rewards will come from Platform.

You can follow the Dash Platform and Core Development Updates on Youtube (every 14 days, use google to locate them) to see the progress on Dash Platform and on Dash Core v20.

To all Dash Partners: Urgent Action Required - Update to Dash Protocol v19.1.0 to Address Recent Issue

Source : https://www.dash.org/forum/index.php?threads/to-all-dash-partners-urgent-action-required-update-to-dash-protocol-v19-1-0-to-address-recent-issue.53743/#post-234703

The activation of Dash Core v19.0.0 has been postponed untill the 14th of June 2023 (through release of Dash Core v19.1 / hotfix)
Expect a Dash Core version 19.2 (that will actually fix the issues that caused the Dash blockchain halt), before the 14th of June 2023.

Keep an eye on Dash Social Media, for the upcoming release of Dash Core v19.2
qwizzie, welcome back.

I missed you a lot and happy to see you return here. Honestly over the last two years, with the pandemic and your disappearance I imagined of something not too good with your health. I hoped you are well and today, very happy to see you again.

In the past, you are the most active member who supported DASH and gave helpful technical posts about DASH. I much appreciated your posts about DASH.

Thank you for your warm words, feels good to be back  Grin

To all Dash Partners: Urgent Action Required - Update to Dash Protocol v19.1.0 to Address Recent Issue

Quote
Dear Dash Partners,

As you may already be aware, an issue has been identified in the Dash network which came to a halt on May 22 at block #1874879. We understand the importance of maintaining a stable and secure network, and we are taking immediate action to address this matter.
New blocks have been consistently produced since approximately 2000 UTC on May 22.. In light of this situation, we strongly advise you to upgrade Dash Core without delay. Currently, over 75% of the network has already upgraded, and this number is rapidly increasing.
To ensure seamless functionality and to align with the majority of the network, it is imperative that you take the following actions immediately:
Visit the official Dash GitHub repository at https://github.com/dashpay/dash/releases/tag/v19.1.0to access the latest version, v19.1.0.
Review the release notes and documentation provided on the GitHub page to familiarize yourself with the changes and improvements introduced in this version.
Follow the installation and update instructions provided in the documentation to implement the necessary changes to your Dash infrastructure.
Please note that failure to update to the v19.1.0 protocol version may result in disruptions to your mining operations and potential vulnerabilities in the network's security.
We strongly urge you to prioritize this update to ensure the stability and integrity of the Dash blockchain.

If you require any assistance or have any questions regarding the update process, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team at support@dash.org. We are here to provide guidance and support during this critical time.
If you are not the appropriate contact person for technical inquiries within your organization, we kindly request that you forward this communication to the relevant team. Please remember to copy us on the email so that we can provide any necessary assistance.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. By working together, we can swiftly address the issue and restore normal operations on the Dash blockchain.

Sincerely,
Dash Core Team

Can you please verify if your Dash blockchain explorer is updated to v0.17.0.3 and on the correct chain as one of my more recent Dash transactions is not showing up on your blockchain explorer,
i suspect your blockchain explorer forked-off (Dash very recentely completed a hard fork).

Please verify,

Thank you.

What i don't understand is how people can sell their Dash, feel really negative about Dash to the point that they stop recommending it to others, but still feel such an overwhelming need
to read and reply to posts on a daily basis in this Dash ANN sub-forum. A Dash sub-forum that they not participated in for many many years, but which somehow got their full attention
these last 5 or 6 months.

If you sold your Dash during a bullrun and moved unto other coins like Bitcoin and ETH, then why still post negativity in this Dash ANN thread ? Why not move onto those other forums ?
If you sold your Dash during the heigh of a Dash bear market, and you are still in this Dash ANN forum posting negativity about Dash, then why do you expect your posts to matter to anyone ? (selling your crypto during the height of a bear market, is literally the worst thing one can do).

Oh well, i guess we will never know.

Lets take a look at how Bitcoin is doing and compare that with Dash :

Daily Bitcoin Chart

Source : https://cryptowat.ch/charts/BITSTAMP:BTC-USD?period=1d

Bitcoin price seems to register lower tops over time. Bearish sentiment taking over ?
Stay tuned.

Monthly Bitcoin Chart

Source : tradingview.com

Bitcoin price dropped from $42,000 to $27,734 and is now contemplating its next move.
I suspect MACD to signal a change in trend next month or the month after that.

Daily Dash Chart

Dash price dumped pretty hard, together with pretty much every altcoin out there during Bitcoin's sharp price drop.

Monthly Dash Chart

Dash price still very stable, not much changed there.

Something tells me that it is toknormal that is selling his masternode rewards at first opportunity. Simply because he was ill prepared for this long and brutal bear market and because
his country's tax policiy forces him to do that. The more smart masternode operators have reserves and can therefore save those masternode rewards up, to sell during a bull market.
And then you have those masternode operators that do all the above, and increase their crypto revenue by setting up more masternodes during a bear market.

It is sad to see the same ramblings from toknormal about the already approved and active blockreward reallocation change still occurring, i guess dumping those ramblings throughout most
of 2020 in this forum was not enough, so the ramblings continue in 2021.

Good thing we have the ignore button, i just wish people would stop feeding toknormal so much in this forum.

Re: 51% attack
by

on 21/01/2021, 23:43:35 UTC
Recently Firo, former Zcoin had a 51% attack and it was possible to change/tamper data of 306 blocks(or so). What exactly is that? Is it like the guy who had control of 51% of the network had overwritten the block? How does anyone get benefitted from such an attack? What's the step to prevent such attack?
https://cointelegraph.com/news/privacy-focused-firo-cryptocurrency-suffers-51-attack

That is mentioned in the article :

Quote
For the Firo team, the attack was only possible because the project was yet to deploy Chainlocks on the mainnet. A Chainlock is a secondary validation layer that reportedly
mitigates a 51% attack.

According to Yap, with Chainlocks activated, an attacker would need to control at least half of all Firo master nodes in addition to the usual 51% mining hash rate dominance.

Firo has reportedly completed the testing protocols for Chainlocks and is primed for its full deployment in the next few weeks. When integrated, Chainlocks will be the latest protocol
feature added to the project after activating the Lelantus upgrade.

What the article fails to mention is that ChainLocks has been developed by Dash, has been active on the Dash network for some time now (July 2019) to protect Dash against 51% attacks.
Firo announced in June 2019 that they were implementing ChainLocks into their codebase. Strange that it took them this long (still a few weeks to go according article).

Re: Privacy Coin Firo under 51% attack
by
qwizzie
on 21/01/2021, 13:13:55 UTC
This is bad and will likely turn investors towards other privacy coins like Monero. That is, if a team can't protect their blockchain and give hackers a taste of what it feels like, that is to say the platform will find it hard getting investors or users who will trust them henceforth, and considering it is a privacy coin which is believed to be decentralized, this is a bad one for them. Or maybe it could be that in the process of developing a new feature or protocol like the Chainlock as mentioned, they made a mistake thus giving hackers the loophole they are looking for. Nevertheless, I hope they come back stronger and better, while giving investors good reasons to keep trusting them while also using it for anonymous purposes.

The only mistake they made, was not implementing ChainLocks on their network sooner (they are still in testing phase).
They announced to copy Dash ChainLocks in June 2019, what was taking so long ?
