anyone has gtx1060 running on smos? try calling nvidia-smi check the power limit.

i had mine set to lowest 75 but it shows 96W / 75W limit killawatt confirmed power consumption is way higher than the limit

i think nvidia drivers is bugged.

managed to get overclock working on the nvidia image.

installed lubuntu desktop, manually startup a bash file applying nvidia-settings -a commands to apply fan speed, core&mem clock, applying cool-bits=24
also need to increase the partition size to fit the desktop. /dev/sda2 to 13gb

its 4am here.. time to bed will test more tomorrow.

bare in mind the nvidia beta without any oc working im sure those speed are running at factory gpu bios clocks. maybe someone can share a simple bash command to manually set the clocks before claymore starts.

e.g.
nvidia-settings -a [gpu:0]/GPUGraphicsClockOffset[0]=YOURCORECLOCK
nvidia-settings -a [gpu:0]/GPUMemoryTransferRateOffset[0]=YOURMEMCLOCK
nvidia-settings -a [gpu:0]/GPUFanControlState=1
nvidia-settings -a [fan:0]/GPUTargetFanSpeed=FANPERCENTAGE

some of my rigs mine 12 hours straight no issue. some after 1 hour the terminal seems lags and hashrates dropped significantly. until i close the terminal. all smooth. without restarting the ubuntu, gpu wont apply OC saying failed to applied or something and the lags begins.

tried lower down the oc on core and mem did not help. it seems like a random freeze/lags issue happening. if GPU failure the watchdog of claymore works fine. something its still hashing, just real slow because of the lags and watchdog wont kick in.

any idea?

i really wanted to see a low security image with fast boot and sudos for cheap usb key option. we all miners monitor every few hours. im sure it will be fine if claymore/ewbf gonna plant some codes hidden inside.  we'll caught it before it could do anything harm to those rigs.

cant wait

I just added a fully compatible image for the:

ASUS PRIME H270-PLUS (in stock, 6x gpu (8x if you use 2x m2 adapters) all OC) Link

It also requires you to flash the bios (but you can do this via the internet) with this motherboard it can be done by connecting an Ethernet cable and entering the EZ Flash 3 Utility.
Select DHCP (unless all your devices are manually configured  Smiley ) and download then install the update.

It should look like this.

After updating ensure 'Above 4G Decoding' is enabled in the bios.

The SHA256 hash (for the zip) is:
Quote
edf1d67a539e6e56f4ddc1e44df582dd91726fc95905af00212c034421338b1c

Note: you must use 2x m2 adapters to use 8x GPUs with this motherboard.

You can thank rabbitr32 for wanting to try this motherboard.

It is the best $/supported_GPU Motherboard I have tested.  M2 adapters might be hard to find right now.

THANKYOU!!! the board is on its way with 10x m.2 to pcie adapters. will test with latest bios and get back review here. good news!!

I added a fully compatible nvOC image for the ASUS Z270-F GAMING Motherboard

The SHA256 hash (for the zip) is:

ASUS Z270-F GAMING up to 9x cards with 2x m2_to_pcie_adapters (note all OC) Link Grin

nvOC is for fast 16gb or larger USB keys see the OP for a link

This image includes plusCPU setting to enable cpuminer-opt to mine XMR while mining another COIN with the GPUs.

This image has the newest oneBash supporting these COIN selections:

ZEC   ZCL   FTC   LBC   MUSIC   ETC   EXP   ETH   DCR   PASC
DUAL_ETC_DCR       DUAL_ETC_PASC        DUAL_ETC_LBC         DUAL_ETC_SC
DUAL_EXP_DCR       DUAL_EXP_PASC        DUAL_EXP_LBC         DUAL_EXP_SC
DUAL_ETH_DCR       DUAL_ETH_PASC        DUAL_ETH_LBC        DUAL_ETH_SC
DUAL_MUSIC_DCR   DUAL_MUSIC_PASC    DUAL_MUSIC_LBC    DUAL_MUSIC_SC

cpuminer-opt is compiled several different CPUs in this image.  I built this image with a G4560 CPU.

This motherboard requires the following bios changes before it will work correctly with nvOC:

ensure 'Above 4G Decoding' is enabled in the bios.

ensure PTP aware OS: is set to 'Not PTP Aware' in the bios.

ensure you 'Clear Secure Boot Keys' in the bios.

Please note to use 9x cards you must use: 2x m2_to_pcie_adapters.

will this image work on ASUS H270 PLUS PRIME ? It has same 2 M.2 slots.

The H270 is a different chipset; so I am not sure if it will work.  I should get a H270 PLUS PRIME in today and should be able to test it / make an image for it tonight.

SUPERB.. let us know. i think z270 is kinda exp now. H270 is a lot more affordable.

I updated the MSI Z170A GAMING M5 image (in stock, 7x gpu (all OC))

see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1854250.msg19203907#msg19203907

now supports OC on all 7x GPUs.

going to buy a few of asus prime h270 plus 6x pcie slot + 2 x M.2 and will this mobo work?
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/PRIME-H270-PLUS/

there is 2 m.2 slot as well can we run 8 GPU on this?

Also i have one rig running nvOC on sandisk ultra usb 3 stick 16gb all seems running well, one issue i have is the boot takes almost 1 min. compare to simplemining its big difference. any idea how can i improve the boot up time?
maybe a 32gb faster usb sticks?

I won't have more m2 adapters until the weekend.  I haven't tested any h270 mobos yet, not sure if they will be able to do 8 GPUs with adapters.  If that is your intent: I would make sure you use at least G4560 cpus.  I will order one of these tomorrow for testing.

Boot time was never something I was considering; I'm not sure why you would need to reboot your rig at all.  SmOS boots quickly because it is running in console mode (x is not loaded).  If there is enough interest I can make a console image, but when you consider the frequency of needing to boot your rig, I think there are more useful improvements I can make first.

ok, will get G4560 on the h270 if it works i have many (40 1060 3GB) on its way.
regarding reboot im not sure because i saw how SMos works id there is GPU freezes it send force reboot command to reboot the rig. i have experience some GPU freezes the whole ubuntu it did not reboot at all requires a hard reset. not a biggie anyway i have ppl monitoring the farm 15/24 a day.
thx for your great effort puttin into all this nvOS. cant wait for ur update on the h270 boards, hopefully 8GPUs is possible.

i had the same card.. it runs hot even on 0.8v Core Voltage,

currently running 1110/1950 27.5mh/s on SMos

XFX RS 570 4GB Elpida mem Mem straps 1500 all the way to 2000

on the other hand, Gigabyte was my fav. i can get 29mh/s with 1120 core /2070 mem on 0.8v core voltage for stability. Max 30mh/sec with 1150/2100++ but consume more power.

Sapphire ITX 570 single 6 pin card best i could get 28mh/sec 1090/2050 same 0.8v but the card pulling 84watt on the core.

guys. i have a sapphire rx 570 4gb itx single fan version. ive copy 1500 timings to the rest on top. hashing 29mh/s but couldnt lower the voltage. tried everything till 800mv the card still running 1.0v on the core.
tried claymore with -cvddc 900mv or 800mv doesnt change anything.

What could i do to lower the power. ive tried on afterburner reducing power limit or -100mv on the voltage did not help but only reducing the hashing speed by big margin.

other cards works well with the polaris editor by reducing voltage there.

i have a power color red devil rx470 4GB. just follow this guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP_zSP2H6ho copy the memory timings for the 1500mhz memory speed to the rest above e.g. 1750mhz. max hashrate i got with 1030core/1900mem is 27mh/s pulling about 100watt

been running more than 12Hours zero problem. temp stable around 55c

Anybody have A2MEGA 110mh/s?

yes i had the same problem exactly like you said. i had tried to adjust the clock manually via ssh to force higher clock but no go, the driver pre compiled in the cgminer 3.9.0 its giving less work to the chips if u clock higher. Best is running 1200mh/s i get around 90-95mh/s at wafflepool. make sure difficulties set at 2048

i just received another similar 12mega from insmart its running 110+MH/sec because the miner able to adjust clock rate, voltage mV of the chips manually. It's far more powerful than the unit from innosilicon but i get a lot of heat from it. A2 from inno is running around 39-42c but the insmart unit running 50-57c big difference. well, u get more than 10mh/sec average ofcos it does came with 1150w PSU opposed to the 1000w from inno.

Inno A2 mega, 3 intake fans, 2 exhaust fans from delta.
Insmart A2 only has 3 intake fans but compact case airflow is ok.
