For a quick second I thought that FredFlinstoneCoin was a real thing, you never know now a days, just check out the names of coins on http://coingen.io/status.html that people have payed for haha. I must admit that I thought about looking that up to add to the list for about a quarter second.

When I post the list of total coins that I have come across so far, and you find a coin that I have missed, would you all mind pointing it out and possibly link the ANN post or website of the coin?

I had been browsing the forums and came across http://com-http.us/ where it currently lists only 209 cryptocurrencies as of this posting, so that was my jumping off point.

Update Total: 347

Through looking through these forums for a little while I've come up with a looong list of cryptocurrencies that are out there, whether active, dead, or dying.

Some are popular for their financial possibilities(Bitcoin), others for fun(dogecoin etc.), and others still for their opportunity to have the average Joe stand a decent chance at becoming somewhat involved with mining and all that. Taking all that into account, which one would you vote for and want to see become more prominent, further legitimized, or killed off, and why?

And no, my list of cryptocurrencies does not contain coins that were made on Mark Corallo's website, http://coingen.bluematt.me/. Too easy to pay him a few bucks and have your name slapped on the face of a different cryptocurrency and call it something new, if I did that the list would be over 500 easily.

Yeah Killua, I agree that there are two aspects that need to be looked at. One side being the ability to make money with a stable and community backed coin versus a coin that the average Joe has the ability to mine and be involved with.

Being able to make your own coin is just a joke at this point, as I've seen everyone state many times over already, I.E. http://coingen.bluematt.me/status.html

Pay Mark Corallo a few bucks and bam theres your own clonecoin with whatever name you want. Those are excluded in my book even if you want to count those in the category with which you can actively mine on your own and be involved with.

Update: 345 and counting haha

So after browsing the forums for a little while and seeing all of the alt cryptocurrencies out there, I am wondering, with all of the Coingen crappers, pump and dump coins, and failcoins out there, which ones do you all still favor and see as a big player for this year? Feel free to post whatever coin you want, if I come across a new one I will add it to my list and probably make a poll with everyone listed for you guys to vote on. Thoughts?
