In the new setup dialog that pops up automatically with v2 (not accessible via the browser), I no longer see the currency and altcoin fields that I used to encounter.

I just updated a unit to v2 successfully (I think)... But when I fire it up, it says "WELCOME AFKDATA" then "SETUP MODE" but then nothing. It used to offer up the prompt to connect via wifi to 192.168.1.7 etc., but no more. It just stays on "SETUP MODE"... What am I doing wrong?

Bitclub Network profits materialize excruciatingly slow (unless you recruit others MLM-style). Basic retail recruits like me "invest" dollars, and they dribble pennies back at you over an incredibly long period of time. Here's my story: In June 2017, I invested the basic $603 — i.e., $99 plus the basic mining package — in the form of 0.24 Bitcoin (the price of BTC was $2,470.10 at the time). After more than 200 days, so far I've pulled back 0.023 Bitcoin. In other words, the rate of payback is about 9.6% of my investment after about 7 months. At this rate it will take about 2,062 days, or 5.6 more years, to recoup my investment. Hope this helps someone.

You state this so authoritatively, but everything I'm reading from so many sources (both mainstream and crypto-specific) suggests that Futures trading actually works to lessen volatility across trading sessions.

This sounds like a bunch of baloney for a few reasons:

1) The US government is concerned with those services that convert to and from the US Dollar. In order to convert to the Dollar, an exchange must become compliant with federal "money transmitting services" regulations.

2) Bittrex doesn't convert to and from any fiat currency (including the US Dollar). For that reason, the US federal government isn't concerned with what Bittrex does. As far as the US government is concerned, Bittrex is engaged in converting one "useless" (ie., fiat-less) token for another.

3) There is one exception to this rule: If a government (including but not limited to the United States) thought that a website/business/entity was involved in other kinds of illegal activity — like financing drugs or weapons, or promoting child prostitution, and so on — then that government might inject itself into its proceedings. However if that government's fiat currency wasn't involved, then the criminal charge would pertain to the illegal activity itself and have little to do with any fiat-less tokens being exchanged.

I think the more important question here is this: Why did the original poster go to all the trouble of creating this remarkable FUD about Bittrex today???

Because those with substantial hodlings in BTC don't want to risk a sudden transfer to a relatively new asset class.

I suppose those of us who use a hardware wallet (e.g., Trezor) are basically disenfranchised because accessing the private keys is as involved as throwing a Bar Mitzvah Safari in Somaliland. As an alternative, can you work something out where we sign a message in order to prove PoS for various addresses?

So most of the participants in this thread from June 07, 2012 onward took (WME | Alexander Vinnick | the MtGox mastermind)'s side against Cryptoxchange, demanding that they return his money. And when Cryptoxchange protested that they couldn't yet do so due to an ongoing investigation, the folks here reflexively decided in favor of someone who is shaping up to be one of the world's most notorious criminals ever.

And although all of that would make this story pathetic (at best), it's likely that some of the folks who defended the OP here were themselves the OP's victim in the half-billion dollar MtGox heist.

Surely some of these individuals owe Cryptoxchange a humble apology at least.

Need some help... Google failed me (or perhaps I failed Google)...

I don't have any old wallet.dat files any longer. But I do have several clam-worthy Bitcoin addresses as well as their private keys. Is there a way for me to recreate the wallet.dat files in order to import them into Clam-Qt so that I can claim my allocated clams? Any advice/guidance/clues would be appreciated.

[Later append... I think I'm on the right track... Will post this in case it ever helps someone else:] So I downloaded a pre-HD version of "Multibit Classic"; then exported its private key to a "multibit.key" file; then text-edited that file with my actual clam-filled private key. I found this instruction on the clamclient.com site: "Place the '.key' file in the same folder as clam-qt.exe. Go to 'console' in clam-qt, type 'importwalletdump yourfilename.key'." (We'll see if this works for me. First, I'm waiting for the Clam-Qt client to finish importing the bootstrap.dat file, which could take awhile.)
