Re: [XMR] RX 480 Overclock settings / Hashrates. Collaboration of information

i see 760 h/s in monero , can i have more information ? how to achieve this speed

I've achieved this speed using a rig with xfx rx480 8g reference gpus where from I've copied the 1750 strap into the 2000 strap. And set core/Mem to 1250/2235 with the config of the mining software.

Mining software used is: ethOS (version 1.1.8 ) with the miner set to sgminer-gm-xmr.

Hope this helps you..

y'all just need to chill out. Obviously whatever server the dude is on wasn't meant to handle this amount of connections, thats why your getting stale shares (probably for an old block, because your miner didn't get new work).

Yes,..

Ofcourse "the guy" gets some cash of our mining, but he earns it because he's working his ass of to help us all mining in his pool with his miner!!
If you don't like it,.. find something else or start your own.

..and yes it's buggy and yes some time the pool has issues,..  but so are others and it's just one day zcash is out.. so like GingerAle says.. chill the F!@$K out!

Got my first payout today from mining yesterday.. just as he promissed.

Thanks so much for the hard work.

@eXtremal,

Can you make pool to pay from min 0.01. I think this will be the best !

I agree, 0.01 is good.

Does the fanspeed setting work on Linux? Doesn't seem to do anything on my 470's, and the fan is too slow.
The new AMDGPU-PRO Driver for Linux doesn't seem to have any console app to adjust it.
same here. it's over 70oC. sometimes, one of my gpu (6xRX470) crash.

Same same,

Running silent army under linux with rx 480 because win10 crashes with silent army but gives double sols compared to non-silent army..

It would be really nice if we could, in Linux, control freq, mem, fan through the config.txt as there is no AMD tweak tool for Linux as there is Wattman for Windows.. But.. changing this config.txt makes no changes.. not even turns fans faster..?

GPU's getting quite hot and need to turn fans up.. but how?

increase value in /sys/class/drm/card0/device/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1 (default on mine was 35)

i.e. set fans to 250 (255 is max)
Code:
sudo echo 250 > /sys/class/drm/card0/device/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1

additional cards change card# hwmon#

That works, thanks a lot!

Might you also know how to do this for core freq, mem and tune?

I find an app here, but I can't install it. Maybe not work for ubuntu 16.04 Huh

already try that one as well but no luck..

Nope, hopefully this will still be fixed before switch to mainnet.

Minimal payout on mainnet - 0.1 ZEC, pool fee 2,5% then down to 1%.

About silent army and NVidia, this kernel uses unaligned access to memory, that dosn't support by NVidia (miner crashes) and gives undefined behaivor on a part of AMD GPUs. It fast, but don't work everywhere Sad

That sounds fair! Smiley

We have to mine on his pool because thats how he gets paid for creating this software

Then it would be better to have a dev fee of 1% like claymore.
The 4% is too much for me.
And the 4 zec minimum payout I may never reach.

Totally agree

eXtremal have you also released a CPU miner or planning to release one? Sorry if this has been asked before, I looked around but didn't find anything

Has their been a wallet made for this for Windows yet ? Any updates as to when Jaxx going to upgrade their wallet system and introduce Zcash they did say they going to be adding at time when goes live so am guessing soon lol.

Be patient.... you can ask this a million times more but things won't change.

No addresses, wallets or exchanges for/with zec before first genesis block mined.. (somewhere today)..

Only way for now to creat an address is through linux, still I think it's wise to wait untill testnet switches over to live.

So,... be patient.... Wink

this miner is only compatible with the default pool?

could we use it on suprnova?

This question is alreday asked about a million this in this tread..

No stratum support and so no Suprnova or other pool support till so far.

As many of you I'm also looking forward to this.

If you check my other post, ethosdistro made annoucement on there blog they're also working on zcash mining support for there next release.

-1. How can I change the gpu frequency's, fan speed and tune in Linux Ubuntu.. when I change it in the config file it seems that nothing happens even when I restart the miner.
Under Windows with the normal (non silent army version 0.2.1) I just tweak with AMD's Wattman and sols/s go up higher after restarting the miner.
But it seems Ubuntu doesn't have a tweak tool for this right?? I'd really like to ramp up my fans a bit as the gpu's running pretty hot after a while and setting best freqs would be nice as well.

Overdrive outdated and not working under Ubuntu with new drivers I'm using for RX480's.

Still looking for a way to tweak freq, fan etc under Linux as changing these in the config.txt seems not to be affecting anything.. ?

-2. I'm really worried about the only pool we can use with this miner for now.. coinsforall really really looks scammish with the 4% fee and 4 coins minimum payout.. that's just really untrustworthy,.. there're the only one getting all our hash power .. what if they just dissapear with our zec before anyone got any of those 4 coins. Any body worked with this pool before for the other coins.. can we trust this pool??
Therefore.. stratum would be great.

Solomine or build your own pool.
The fees on the pool are the last things that affect the miner profitability. To be clear, a 0% fee pool could take 10%, no one would notice. The fee is mostly a psychological thing.

Thanks,

-1,. I'll check the links if I can make something work with that.

-2,. yea, well still stratum would be a lot beter.

-3. ethosdistro just made an announcement here: http://ethosdistro.com/blog/ that they will be supporting zcash (an other most profitable coins) in the near immediate future. Comming in there next realease 1.1.3
Using ethOS already for a long time to mine ETH and it works great. oh and also they will be adding a "new ethOS browser-based terminal, which will allow setup and configuration of ethOS rigs by connecting to their IP addresses via a regular computer web browser."

What I meant to say was when can we actually start mining zcash?

Today the first so called Genesis block will be mined (don't know exactly when today).. then pools will move from testnet to live..

Also Exchanges as Kraken and Poloniex will start adding ZEC and Jaxx wallet also made an announcement they will add a zec wallet today or in the days comming.

Hi there,

I'm running (latest 0.2.1 silent army) version under Linux Ubuntu 16.04 (AMDGPU-PRO 16.30 and 16.40 both working) as it still keeps crashing under Win10 x64. (Non silent army works fine under Win10 x64).

Using 3x RX480 and getting nearly 120sols/s (with the silent army) with the normal one that's halve of it (60 sols/s).

2 things I'm wondering..

-1. How can I change the gpu frequency's, fan speed and tune in Linux Ubuntu.. when I change it in the config file it seems that nothing happens even when I restart the miner.

Oh and eXtremal,.. you're the man, thanks for all your great work!  -- keep it up Smiley
