Pleased to let you guys know, we're now live with Cryptopia so feel free to check it out: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz

If you spot anything that doesn't quite look right you can either log a support ticket on the site, or email us at support@cryptopia.co.nz or comment here.

Good work. Cearly represented. Account registration worked like a charm.  Smiley
I'll test it in detail the next days.

keep it as  kimdotcoin  Grin

It looks to be making some gains lately, today somone purchased the whole side of sell orders at Cryptex

Sa_ddam, glad you are back and taking it in strides. Sorry to hear about your losses.

Hopefully you are one of the 3 nodes I'm seeing on the wallet.

I know KIM blew hot air but if you leave the name we would could become the first successful dis coin AND imagine if it becomes the new crypto of NZ and he didn't have any of it!

I'll keep on thinking about names for 500K DOT

I would love to decentralize AIRBNB with Belocoin and a sister website for searching.

Well the other problem with the current name is that 60% of New Zealand hate him, so its making it hard to promote.

And there is nothing stopping a rename from making the coin successful, there is no premine and there are enough coins out there for fast distribution once the big promotions start.

we are sinking a tonne of time and money into this, we have a huge vision for this currency, and to me if we want this to be used for everyday items the current name  will not work.

so the name needs to be simple, catchy and basically just awesome, and since I'm just a programming nerd I'm not the best guy to come up with a name, LOL

After hearing about how he handled you, I started wondering if he is actually a cold war relic sent to shit on a burgeoning free world like the Barron Harkonnen.

I can see why Kiwis don't like him. I was in NZ once as a student and he is the antithesis of health and conservation.

AND I will forever be grateful he led me to DOT because at the time I thought KIM was uber cool and represented the power of the bounty in the digital realm.

He now inspires the alliteration "deutschbag"

No dis to DOT's German mining arm, Ratohe the great!

here in Germany Kim is known as a part of the huge internetbubble wich collapsed. He raised 2 or 3 companies wich were only written papers with ideas of others and brought them into stock-exchange. He ripped all his investors and with this money he builded his mega-imperium. I think this was the main reason for him to move to NZ and change his name to Dotcom.
Back then when I started to get interested in coins one of the first threads I visited was this here. I was not attracted by the name but I thought, if you start mining, this one is as good as the others, give it a try. Now I know, this was a good decision. Cheesy  And DOT is in fact a really good name for a coin. It' short and catchy and it's a synonym for the Internet.
But it has to get rid of this ugly face in the logo. Tomorrow I've off time for a few days, relaxing with some friends and maybe I get back with a good idea for a new logo. Smiley

The way you design the logo of this coin makes it seem like you're almost mocking him. Is this coin in support of kimdotcom or against? I think he's a fairly good dude.

I know what you mean. I took it as a tribute and thought he was a good icon for bountying in the digital realm. Bummer if true that Kim didn't keep word.

KimDotCom, do you have a bitcointalk account? Can you respond?

I like to give folks the benefit of the doubt. Especially public icons. And he just got divorced. And he is always tweeting photos of his toys and views and pumping the internet party. Dude seems busy.

Nevertheless, coins move quick and they don't tolerate BS. You definitely don't want to get on the wrong side of DOT. Sa_ddam213 is a mad crypto wizard and the internet party should be considering him for finance minister. If DOT gains TOR or other anon, I believe it could have a chance at being a NZ nationcoin with 0 premine and only a small percentage of the total coins have been mined.

Cryptomania looks great but I couldn't register. I have been waiting for someone to combine mining and exchanging. Nice work Triplehexxx! Many thanks.

Dotcomcoin sounds great. DOT is still a great acronym . . . Department of Transactions if national currency.

GO DOT GO!

Ratohe,

Perhaps our blockchain bounty could go to Cryptomania to seed the exchange?

I think the guys from cryptex won the race. Condition fulfilled. Seeing the good job of TripleHexxx I'm willing to spend another 250k for seeding cryptopia  Cheesy

This will be interesting, since there was no pre-mine there are people out there with more DOT than TripleHeXXX and the KimDotCoin developer.

So if people want to use these in Cryptopia they will have to buy them from the users Smiley

You and whalebone should do pretty well out of this, since you guys are pretty much the KimDotCoin ambassadors  Cheesy

Go DOT GO!!!!

ps: I like your idea of rebranding to DotCom, that way we can drop that lying politicians name of the coin, could also be a possibility of branding it close to the Cryptopia name.

Perhaps a vote/poll/competition could decide

yeah, voting could be a good solution

Hey Guys,

I know its been a while since we updated everyone.

OK, so TripleHeXXX has bee working on a new exchange platform for the last 8 months and it has just gone Alpha Smiley.

KimDotCoin is going to be used throughout the exchange, used as payment for users upgrading their accounts and advertisers to upgrade the ads on the services directory.
There is also going to be a system similar to Crypsty points that will be using DOT, so the price should rise quite significantly.

Now, When we meet KimDotCom to talk about DOT he made us a lot of promises, offers to help, promote etc, so far he has done nothing and won't even acknowledge us at all.
In fact he totally ignored us and decided to back KiwiCoin which turned out to be a Chineese scam coin and dumped and ran.

So that leaves us with a decision do we rebrand DOT? Why give this guy all the promotion when he wont even do the same to us, DOT has a great community and we want to see it succeed fully.

Since its going to be a major part of the exchange platform we are looking at rebranding to TripleHeXXX coin or Cryptopia coin.

Let us know what you think, you can also check out the early Alpha of the Exchange here : http://www.cryptopia.co.nz it will be an exchange with Trading, Mining and a list of products and services for each given coin, a one stop shop in a way.

The current Alpha is trading only with mining going Alpha next week and services the week after that.

If you are keen on this idea please give us some input.

thanks
sa_ddam213

DotCoin is the first coin I mined and unfortunately it never really came to life. So if there is any possibility to get this baby running I'm with you.

Is somebody here who knows whats up with leetpool? I mined there for some time and got my payouts. After they changed their css-template "into something better"
my payoutaddress vanished. I tried to put it in again but I don't get this fucking confirmation-mail. I wrote several mails to them via the contact link on their site but got no answer yet.
I want my coins get payed out. Any suggestions what to do?

MPOS email doesn't work and they probably haven't bothered to fix it.

Email them directly if you can otherwise, they aren't getting the contact emails either.

Mmh, thanks for your answer. But I don't have any mailaddresses from them...

Ah ok. Whalebone seemed pretty excited about where the future of this currency may lie when I spoke to him. Currently I'm using a little POS all-in-one HP touchsmart 600 with a stock Intel HD graphics card that I bought in 2010. Top of the line tech right there, I know. lol.

As for what program I'm using, it's CPUminer, which I grabbed from here somewhere this morning. I have no .bat file as I was just writing it direct into the prompt, and I wrote it out as  --algo=scrypt --url= stratum+tcp://dot.pools.tripplehexxx.net:3333

A web article I read at Ars Technicia had it written out as --url=stratum+tcp://[whatever url]:3333 --userpass=[userpass].[workername]:[worker pass]

That's where I was getting stuck. I had no username, password, and I couldn't find an explanation as to what a worker was, and I certainly didn't have a password for that either.

Like I said I'm about as new as it comes to this.

first of all, you need to register at dot.pool, there you get your worker. Put a name on the worker. After that you use it like this: "poolusername.workername" .
Example for cpu miner:  minerd -a --scrypt -t 6 -s 4 -o stratum+tcp://dot.pools.triplehexxx.net:3333 -u poolusername.workername -p WorkerPassword
Best you put this in a text editor and save it as "miner.bat" (dont save it as .txt) in the programfile (same file as minerd.exe is in) of cpu miner. After a doubleclick the miner should start.
But in the moment you'll get not much coins with it. Nethash raised to 100mh and difficulty is really high (not really, but for this coin).

if you post your wallet adress I'll send you some coins as wellcome Cheesy

The traffic on dotcoin raised but we still have no blockexplorer.
I've rent some webspace to host the explorer and I tried to set up one but, as I mentioned before, I'm a lousy coder
and it ended as an epic fail.
So, again, if someone is able to set up an explorer contact me. You'll get the link and the password for 500mb (could be extended if necessary) webspace.
Linux is ready installed and some other features (php, mysql, pearl modules, rubygems, ruby on rails).
After you've done your work you'll get 500k dotcoins bounty. If you don't like dotcoin bounty, we could talk about getting some NLG or ICB if you like.

Hey all. I'm new to actually attempting to mine crypto currencies (whalebone got me interested during a convo we had last night), and I could use a bit of help. I have my wallet set up, but am having a bit of a problem connecting to the dot.pools.triplehexxx and related pools. I'm unsure if my command inputs are correct (windows user) in the command prompt. When I tried to connect, I get a "JSON decode failed(1):'[' or '{' expected near '<' getblocktemplate failed, falling back to getwork" message. Please excuse my ignorance, as I know very little about this. Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi VexusMalius,
I need a little more infos to help. Which device (graphiccard), which miner (software) and the content of your .bat file (leave password and user blank) or your input at the command promt if you write direct into it.
The error sounds a little like syntaxerror.
For cgminer 3.7.2 and an ati r9 280/290 it looks like this: cgminer --scrypt -I 20 --thread-concurrency 32768 -o stratum+tcp://dot.pools.triplehexxx.net:3333 -u username -p password

Hiring CoinDev/Team
by

on 08/08/2014, 15:22:59 UTC
I'm looking for an experienced dev or a team who's able to set up a new coin and a user framework
with integrated wallet and interface for different apps (win&android). It's not only a new coin, it's a package of new usability and distribution.
I'm working on a cost listing and I need prices for the different parts.
We already raised some capital and now I've to proof if it's enough for the first steps.
We don't need everything written new but approved functionality. We have some brand new ideas for marketing and distribution
but none of us is a dev with coinexperience. We have graphic designer, web designer, accredited advertising agency and a softwaredeveloper (delphi).
And we have a huge bag of innovative concepts. The project is a little bigger than only making a new coin.
If someone here has contacts or knows someone who could help us pls send pm or mail.

edit
It's not necessary that one is able to do all that I requested above. We work in modules. So everybody who could code in the above mentioned skills is wellcome.
Payment is a matter for negotiation. You say what you need and I check if  it's possible.

Entwickler/Team für Coin und Userframework gesucht
by
ratohe
on 08/08/2014, 15:07:27 UTC
Hallo,
Nach "mobile first" kommt "crypto first" Cheesy
