Re: Bitcoin not so anonymous?
by

The IRS has stated that recently they can track down people who are making a profit of Bitcoin without claiming it on their tax return. I wonder if the Core Engineers will start to look at ways to keep Bitcoin anonymous from prying eyes of the IRS and other Governments?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
No need to worry about this, the trading being done in btc are technically not yet under the jurisdiction of the taxation system. Not unless you country has regulated it already.

what happens to the value of the coins that you purchased using bitcoin?
Will still hold its dollar value, then you can look for an exchange where you can have a direct alts to USD trade. If none then hold it until one comes.

Why everybody is doing blochain?

I feel the world is already doing good.
Our internet speeds are good, hospitals are doing good, insurance is working and so are the schools, flights and education

Why there is so much hype about blockchain and decentralization all of a sudden?

If insurance industry or banks are storing the transaction information in a central database/system and its been working fine so far and there is no double spending problem
, how would making it decentralized help so much?
Atleast from end user/customer it really doesnt matter as long as the information stored is accurate and transactions are going fine (which is already happening)

Agree that in the past, lot of hacking attempts happened (the big retail store credit card, credtit rating hacked etc) but these problems would still exist even if we do blockchain

May be I did not understood the concept of blockchain. Does anything changes drastically for me, the end user?
I would be still going to website to book my flight tickets or go to centers to write exams or get my insurance claims or be dependant on the banks for withdrawing my money etc
Please provide any links or articles to read which explains it in layman terms on what is really changing and what the sudden splurge of devs/companies are really doing

Don't be too skeptic about it my friend, but you need to see it this way. The block chain technology is our way to get out of the current norm of our society where in big companies dictates how the financial system goes. Think of it that the block chain system is like the internet all over again. Whether you like it or not, you will eventually succumb to it.

Re: A friend sent me .03 BTC - what to do now?
by

So long story short, a friend owed me for a favor and since I did not have bitcoin before he asked If I would take it in BTC. I didn't mind since I can cash out whenever.
My question is.. what do you think? Its a decent chunk of money for me to just hope something keeps rising, do you think I should "let it ride" or cash out and just be happy with ~$500?
Since its technically a money that you can afford to lose, maybe you can try and perform some alts trading. Or You can just buy other altcoins and hold it until it grows then sell it to bitcoin again.

3 Guys to Watch in 2018:

   1.  Andreas Antonopolous
   2.  Brock Pierce
   3.  John McAfee

Who else will become a powerhouse influencer in 2018 for Bitcoin and the Cryptocurrency Markets?

BTC

John Mcafee coin of the day has passed out and people are no longer buying the FOMO it has caused. But to be fair enough, it did quite some gains for verge.

Hey folks,

Do you guys think Etherium will go up to $10,000 or more?
I would vouch for this and YES it might go 10,000 or more. When people ask me what is better, if btc or eth then I would simply answer them that btc is currently apple and eth is android during its early days. Right now btc has the upper hand but eth would eventually catch up to it.

How common is Bitcoin in Asia? Just want to know Huh
In my country  its quite popular but not yet regulated. What alarms me the most is the idea that people jump into it expecting the big profit without even understanding the entire block chain technology.

Re: Why is bitcoin the most popular cryptocurrency?
by
raven1322

I believe that they're popular mainly because well it was the first of all cryptocurrencies to be made. Honestly most of the other coins are scams and greedy ways that the developers make money. The only other coin I can think of that isn't a scam are dogecoins! What do you think?
How about etherium? have you seen the 1 year chart of it? Take a look and see that there is not much volatility in its growth(as compared to other altcoin).

All crypto currencies  have their pros and cons .  I do not like the fact that transactions are  can not be reversed. What don't you like about bitcoin ?

What I don't like about btc would be the people who uses it for scams and robbing people. Due to its high value people tends to get blinded by the idea that this is the easiest way to get rich. This is one of the reason why btc is being dissed in my country.

Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?
Other crypto that would make it obsolete = No
Other crypto that the market would embrace and would be used in daily transaction = Yes
There are other coins that actually has a better technology than btc, btc just have the upper hand when it comes to dollar value.

What would you do when you're talking to someone but then he suddenly talks about his hatred on Bitcoin, what would you react to it?

I've never actually experienced anything like this before, I just want to be prepared when it happened to me.
Well, no need to put to much effort on those people. The time spending on bothering them should rather be invested in reading and trading. They've got nothing to lose same as with us who supports btc.

As indicated by predictions bitcoin should have achieved 15k$ by end of 2017 and fall in first week of jan 2018

In any case, shockingly its effectively reached 17k$ in 2017.

Should I purchase or hold my btc?I don't plan to sell at any point in the near future.
Hi, To be safe you can cash out money as needed only. Lets say for paying your mortgages or other basic needs. But if you just wanted to purchase a new gadget or other stuffs out of the necessary needs, don't use your btc money on those things yet.

Huh It's a rollercoaster???
Well the graphs in crypto currency is a wile one. It's like the hybrid of stock market and forex. Due to the continuous bullish run, we all know that people who invested will start to sell at their desired profit.

Re: [ANN] #3 [XUN] UltraNote is READY, Everyone is welcome to mine.

Hello! Is there any way to view the balances and transactions of a specific wallet on the block explorer? I always end up with a not found popup when I try it out. Don't know. Seems like the XUN team is testing a new block explorer.

Also, my two 4-day old deposits to stocks.exchange are still awaiting confirmation, despite there being new blocks already being found. I had a transaction of XUN deposit to the exchange and it went through and is already confirmed in my wallet. Did you delete the old blocks as instructed?

Lastly, another two transactions (that were sent the same day as the tx mentioned above) are not showing on stocks.exchange, but my wallet balance has been deducted. I share the same issue with you here. It has to do with the XUN deposit transaction I speak of above. stocks.exchange specific XUN wallet is still disabled. I think that its a thing with the exchange itself - still following through after their maintenance.

TIA!
Please see my responses in bold and note that I am not a XUN developer so those responses are only of the circumstances as I understand them to be - but they may not necessarily be wholly correct.

Hey thanks for the responses mate! Currently syncing the new wallet, and hoping to see my transactions on the GUI at least. Waiting for stocks.exchange to resolve things on their end as well. Cheers!

thank you for the reply! yes i used the correct payment ID sibe 2 out of the 4 transactions are now waiting confirmation on stocks.exchange but the other 2 cant be seen at all though my wallet balance has been deducted.

Please make sure to use your Payment ID

hi there! has anybody been having issues with transferring coins to stocks.exchange recently? did a very small transfer and it went smoothly, although quite slow. afterwards, i made four consecutive bigger transfers. only the last 2 got through (which is still awaiting confirmation though). but the first two can't be seen anymore, though my wallet balance reflects otherwise since its now empty.

Pre ICO 1 Nov to *15th* Nov  (*30%* Discount)
- ICO Launch 15th Nov to 15th Dec

Any news in the ICO of Moya Token? In the Ann thread the ICO is written at the date of Nov. 12- Dec.15 but in their official site it will be until January 15,2018. Why is your official website not updated and the timer is not working too?

Maybe the 2 weeks extension  of MOYA affected the ICO dates. I believe the MOYA team is working on updating all of their sites. Smiley

2 weeks extension would be great the Christmas bonus will be a big help so that people will buy with their eztra money. Moya will surely go to the moon
with the extension and bonuses, people will still have a chance to help and invest in this project. Lets hope to habe the token sale completed before the deadline.

that being said, lack of investor interest may be due to the increasing price of bitcoin, driving the market share of all other cryptocurrencies down, and affecting the ongoing ICOs as well.
