Lol you guys still hodling dash? LOL forgot about other altcoin that rised and are now dead? Go back to btc while you still can. Make no mistake. Dash is decreasing everyday. Get out before others get out. Dont get trapped. Anyway good luck hodling Dash. Dont complain that nobody warned you.
So many naysayers have come and gone, saying the same thing for years. If I had listened to people like you, I wouldn't be paying off my student loans in full right now (while still being able to keep my Masternode for the future).
Odds are, all of us old hands will likely never be underwater again. I do feel a little bad for the newcomers having to deal with the trolling (that we are all so used to).
Yeah, I've been lucky that I haven't been underwater ever since I first bought mine around 80 cents in March 2014. Sold for the first time, about 200 DASH near the ATH a couple of weeks ago, and even then it was hard to let go knowing there's still so much potential here.

Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency
I might as well ask here too. Can anyone tell me why or how giving away my cell phone number on wall of coins is safe? Do other people get it? what is their policy? I have never ever given out my cell phone number to anyone but family and have enjoyed a harassment free / no sales calls existence with it. So I'm pretty paranoid to give it out. Our home number on the other hand is unusable, I'm not sure why we still have it. We never answer it unless we recognize the caller or are expecting a call. So I need to know that this info is super safe. Any insight is very much appreciated
If you're not comfortable giving it them, just get a Google Voice number instead.

Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency
When Dash transactions get locked (to enable fast transactions and prevent double spending), who or what is in control of the "locking"? Thanks
A set of 10 (pseudo-) randomly, but deterministically selected Masternodes.
Thank you. You're probably not totally surprised , that that sounds a tad confusing.
So they are randomly selected but there is a deterministic component too?
It's based on the blockhash from the proofofwork for a block, and those hashes cannot be predicted before the block is mined, That's the random component. Once a block is found, this hash and some other (Masternode-) attributes are used to compute the 10 Masternodes responsible for locking. This is the deterministic component.
Thanks again. So there is a bias towards certain MN's? If so what are these attributes?
thanks

InstantSend (formerly InstantX) Transactions in Dash version 12 are secured using a consensus of deterministically selected masternodes. This set of masternodes is informally termed quorum and must be in a majority agreement, at least six out of ten, for a successful lock of the transaction inputs.
Quorums are self-selected on a per-transaction basis using a combination of three elements: Transaction Age, Block Height, and Masternode Funding Transaction.
Transaction Age
When an InstantSend transaction is broadcast, the age of the first unspent input in the transaction influences which proof of work hash to use as entropy for quorum selection. All InstantSend inputs must be at least six blocks old or the transaction will be rejected.
Block Height
The age of the first InstantSend input is then subtracted from the current blockchain height. To prevent using transaction malleability to influence quorum selection, four is then added to the calculated block height to guarantee choosing a block generated after the input was created.
Masternode Funding Transaction
Each masternode receiving the InstantSend transaction lock request then compares the hash of its funding transaction to the hash of the block calculated above. After validating the inputs are not spent, the top ten masternodes closest to this proof of work hash broadcast their acceptance of the lock.
By the end of the year, the cryptocurrency landscape could look radically different. Robert Genito, project lead for Wall of Coins, believes that Dash will end up at the head of the cryptocurrency pack:
"Technology moves quickly, obviously and so do cryptocurrencies, perhaps even faster. However, a market of people and their decisions can move even faster, and I truly believe that by the end of this year Dash will overcome Bitcoin entirely."

Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency
PS: From more moral reasons I would keep away from Dash (that instamine part)
Every cryptocurrency is "instamined". Even Bitcoin is 100% owned by less than .03% of the world's population (and that's making some very generous assumptions regarding distribution). Accusations of "instamine" may have some value in the insular world of crypto politics, but on the stage of global financial markets (on which even Bitcoin is still only a minuscule blip) it's completely meaningless. If "instamines" really are an issue from an economic standpoint, then every cryptocurrency seeking adoption on a global scale is in trouble.

privaTX feels a bit awkward (to both write and pronounce) and is similar enough to InstantX that it might cause some confusion. Personally, I'm fine with Darksend, but if we're throwing ideas out there, how about something simple like "SafeGuard".

I'm opening up a crypto accepting t-shirt store and of course DASH will be a payment selection. Where can I find the digital assets to DASH ? Or, if anyone is a good designer here I'd love to get your design on a shirt
Hit me up with any questions!
define .... Digital Assets ??
Oh ya like the current logo design for DASH. Those sort of things.
Most info and what not, can be found on the website and DASHtalk - sooooo..........
It's Publicly available...
Thanks Mangled Blue. I guess I was being lazy I'll see if there is anything on the main website.

Quick question: Is there a way to export the private key from my wallet?
I'll add that into the queue as a tool to be added. For now would you be comfortable with using the daemon?
Best regards,
syntaks
Thanks, that would be a useful tool. Can't say I've ever used a daemon before, unfortunately.
What system are you running on?
Best regards,
syntaks
Windows.
Sorry for the delayed response it's been a hell of a hectic day here. Click start, then either type in the input box 'cmd' or if you have 'Run' click that and then type 'cmd' (without the single quotes). This will bring up a DOS prompt. In there, type this:
cd %appdata%\Neos-v2.1 (if Neos-v2.1 is what you chose to name it) neoscoind.exe -datadir=neos-data dumpprivkey neos-address-here
That should do the trick. If not, please let me know and we'll get you all squared away.
Best regards,
syntaks
That did it. Thanks a lot for your help. Much appreciated.

Re: [ANN][FAIR] FairCoop launch Fairmarket Alpha testing version
I haven't followed FairCoin for some time now and just updated my wallet for the first time in over a year. I noticed that all of my FAIR is now gone from my wallet and was sent to the "FairCoin Recovery Fund" without my knowledge back in February. What's going on?
I'd say read up on the frontpage and visit fair.coop; much has happened in the last 12 months.
Regarding the lost coins; we've announced this through various channels, including this forum. So also read up and contact support@fair-coin.org for the procedure to reclaim your lost coins.
