Re: Bitcoin becoming a safehaven currency in Argentina
by

I wonder why traders on those argentinian exchange don't just switch to internation exchanges like Binance. If bitcoin is trading at a premium of $10k++ when it's only around ~$9k+ on the global market, why buy premium?

I think arbitrage can't be done if they're limiting exchanges users to argentinians but on the flip side why don't they just buy cheaper from global markets.  Huh

Re: The secret of gambling?
by
realaccountakira
on 03/11/2019, 13:02:54 UTC
After playing gambling games hundreds of times, without much effort in winning substantial profits at all, it makes me wonder what could be the secret of gambling? Personally, I find myself comfortable playing crypto-based gambling games, because of their greater level of accessibility than traditional games. I believe that gambling games which use cryptocurrencies and Blockchain tech, are much fairer than traditional ones within the mainstream world. Yet, you tend to lose more money than you've initially invested into a gambling game.

Which is why, I'm deeply curious to know if there's actually a secret within gambling that would allow me to win more than losing? Any thoughts about this will be greatly appreciated. Smiley

I don't see how can there be further secret to it. It's a gamble on whether you win or lose and the odds are always in favor of the house. No amount of superstition or mumbo jumbo that you do will change those percentages of winning, especially with online gambling games that involve crypto.

If you're playing poker and counting cards i could see how you could use that to your advantage if you're smart (genius) enough, but other than that, it's all the same. Just play!

Re: Getting scammed

I got scammed by this project called temtum. Signed up for their bounty months ago, posting for their campaign, filling up 2 kyc forms and pushing for its deadline, and now they are telling me i didnt pass it. It is not only me who encountered this. Hello Richard Dennis.

Sadly, this has become common practice with altcoin bounties nowadays and there is nothing we as bounty hunters can do but risk our time on joining such bounties. My tip to you is to carefully scrutinize the bounties you join and make sure if anything at all, it at least looks professional and iss a project that servers to solve a real world problem instead of just promising unnecessary 'innovations.'

This ain't 2017 anymore and lots of bounties are crap.

Re: How did you start trading?

Hello traders!

I would like to know how you started trading? Any interesting articles,
videos or guides that you found helpful before you started?
Can you share your opinions and experiences please?

I started by simply trading, and of course consequently, started by losing money. I believe making mistakes is a great way to learn. When i started losing money, it was an eye opener that doing the necessary research and analysis is a must before you trade.

If you want, you can start by doing virtual trading so that you can test the waters without actually losing much money.

Re: what makes us good investors.

Selling or buying investments ?
As a bitcoin trader the hardest decision that we can ever take is , selling our beloved cryptocurrency and this is preety hard because of :-

1.   Our emotions
2.   Our lack of knowledge
3.   Hope !

Well you all can relate to the fact that whenever we are into selling something, we take hasty decisions, generally if the price is falling and we lack patience and even if we are scared that this can go worse in the future we generally sell and then regret moments later when we see it climbing ladder.
Even if the price is going great and its increasing we generally tend to regret if we sell it and the price continues to grow.
This is really hard once our emotions are involved with our investments.
I think that the best thing we can do is separate our emotions with our investments. We should kind of make a pact to never regret any decision that we ever made because in the words of Victoria Holt “never regret, if it was good , its wonderful and if its bad, its experience.”
I think what’s important is taking into account every single detail in the market regarding our investment and at the same time emotionally detaching our minds and making stable decisions and that’s what makes a investor successful.
Also someone has truly said “the investment market takes money from the hasty one and gives it to the patient one”

Those are some fine points, and I especially love the quote by Victoria Holt. As bitcoin and cryptocurrency investors, I believe what makes us good investors is that we've invested early. Bitcoin and crypto is still at it's early stages and it's true value has yet to be realized.

We will need to keep those 3 items you listed if we want to be good investors till the end.

Re: How Often Do you Bet on Politics?
by
realaccountakira
on 03/11/2019, 04:20:36 UTC
Politics seems predictable most of the time but looks like few people actually bet on it. Example, you know Joe Bidden has probably 50% chance of winning the Democrats primary. What stops you from picking and betting on that? Do you bet on politics and what are your winning stats.

Some time around October 2016 after the Access Hollywood tape was released, a certain betting site gave 108 to Trump winning the election. I believed strongly that Trump was going to win despite everything thrown at him. I had $5,000 and wanted to pick the odd. Somehow, I didn't follow through. That could have given me over half a million dollars in winning.

How often do you bet on Politics? Any reason why most people don't really bet on Politics? Do you know any trusted betting site that offers good odds in American Politics?

Didn't realize you could earn big with betting on politics. It probably never crossed my mind because it feels like there is something so wrong about betting on politicians. It's like betting on the fate of an entire country.

Some may say it's unethical and i tend to agree, but when you think about it i surely hope that these political bets don't affect the outcome of the polls.

Re: WHAT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS GONE?
by

on 03/11/2019, 02:41:19 UTC
I have been gone for so long due to my hectic schedule at the university, but since I have graduated already and I have taken my board exam I am now back here! Finally.

I have noticed how altcoins I own before depreciate so bad. I even have two or more kind which up to now have no value. Is the market tthat bad already? I mean, I can actually read threads here but ofcourse getting direct feedbacks from all of you who stayed all through out the time I was not around would be very helpful. Please help me learn about the new environment of cryptos now. Thanks.

As usual, life goes on while you are gone. And YES, all the scam altcoins have shown themselves and the altcoin devs have either run away with investor's money or have  simply abandoned the projects altogether.

If you want to keep updated with the current crypto trends then i suggest reading crypto-blogs or websites like CoinTelegraph.

Re: WHAT DOES A TRADER NEED?
by

on 03/11/2019, 02:05:16 UTC
Reading news constantly and being on track?
Using platforms/tools?
Is trading view enough?
Thank you for helping in this matter!

You should be able to answer this question through a few google searches. But basically NO, tradingview is not enough, no matter how many analysis you read there, you will always fall short if you don't explore all possible streams of news.

You have to check crypto-related blogs, facebook groups, telegram groups, even twitter. You need to know whats happening and you need to read books about trading. If you want to be a successful trader that is.

Re: Ushering in a Crypto Golden age for India
by
realaccountakira
on 01/11/2019, 05:47:19 UTC
The article talks about facts! Let me summarize it for you all!

India is lossing opportunities big time as a lot of young business owners are still waiting for the regulatory uncertainties to go away! RBI and policy makers have already thrown away few good companies like zebpay, Unocoin from the economy and zebpay moved to Singapore to continue their business! So new entrepreneurs are not willing to take further risks during such uncertain times, rather they are considering foreign land to start their business and foreign exchanges are eating out a big chunk from the pie!

Not sue what is meant by Golden age by the author! It's no golden age, just dark times for crypto communities in India!

Yeah, seems like so many Indian nationals are going for opportunities outside of their country. I personally work in an international organization with lots of officers from India. They are dark times for India indeed but the article talks of an "incoming" golden age which may put an  end to all this government bureaucracy.

Most probably, cryptocurrency will bring India to this golden age.

Just wondering if miners still feel this card is worth putting money into this late in its life cycle. I am looking for opinions so let me know please.

Its not worth it, especially because its this late in the mining life cycle.

That card will barely even make a dollar after electricity costs. And thats not to mention the upcoming ETH E3 ASICs that are about to be delivered by bitmain next week. Oh and lets not forget the fact that ETH is switching to POS real soon as well. There are so many reasons not to buy mining hardware right now..

If it was meant to be it will!
Long live the BULLS!

Been seeing you and your emotional posts around this forum for some time now. I'm curious, how much did you invest?

It seems like it's really taking a toll on you and your mental stability. Take a chill pill dude. Maybe forget about bitcoin and crypto for awhile. Do something productive and find other means of making money. Obsessing over it like this will only get the best of you. Just hold and be patient.

stupidity is so close to poverty, do you agree with such a phrase?
if it yes, means the poor are the fools.
I want to know your opinion.  Grin Grin

Your statement is pure ignorance.

Some people are born poor and they have no means of education because of their environment. We are all intelligent human beings and it is the cruel nature of our environment that shapes our IQ. Instead of making smart ass statements like this, why don't you instead use your energy for something productive and help educate the poor.

Re: Do you switch your mined coins to USDT immediately or do you HODL?
by
realaccountakira
on 12/07/2018, 03:06:11 UTC
It's very simple. In a bull market hold your coins. In a bear market sell them for usdt.

Those that hodl their coins in 1st half of 2018 got rekt. Those that didn't hodl their coins in 2017 got rekt.

As for me I don't care as much. My rigs are paid off by holding most of my coins i bought in early 2017 and I use my normal day job to pay electric every month. I'm probably in the negative due to this but I'll wait till next bull run in 2 to 3 years before I sell.

Above post is actually a great example of why you should just HODL. I just think he got his first sentence mixed up.

Your mining business plan should take into consideration the electric costs because holding and selling in a BULL market is the way to make decent profits here. I mine, convert to, and hold Bitcoin and Ethereum knowing that a few years from now, the values of these coins will surely rise.

Re: Study says being rich is determined by chance rather than intelligence or talent
by
realaccountakira
on 11/07/2018, 06:21:12 UTC
A very interesting spin on anything that has ever been said about money, success or wealth!

I don't know what to think about this. The scaling argument which says 1% of the human population shouldn't own 40% of the world's wealth due to them not having IQ's of 200,000 or talent proportional to the highly disproportionate stake of wealth they control is something that will take time for me to digest and think about. Its certainly a novel concept.

Its also very interesting that they attempted to model along lines of standard deviation and wound up with a historical 20/80 wealth distribution. I think this is something which could use more exposure and media coverage. Its not often relatively original or new perspectives like this come along and the paradigm shift which can accompany them can often take decades to be fully appreciated within a pop culture vein.

I disagree. I recognize that, yes, luck can play an important factor in our wealth, but luck will easily be beaten by values like grit, hard work, perseverance, and determination. When we limit ourselves to things like luck or chance, we are no better than gambling addicts who bet their life and their families lives on a simple roll of the dice.

Simply giving everything up to luck or chance is synonymous to giving up on life.

Re: Can I mine any ETH or Others by using my Laptop?

on 11/07/2018, 06:15:02 UTC

You again. Technically, you are wrong again. VGA stands for Video Graphics Array. That being said, many people incorrectly refer to "VGA cards" when they actually mean GPUs.

Going back to the topic at hand, i would just like to chime in and add to the consensus that using laptops to time is an extremely bad idea. Like many have already said, you will burn your laptop's components before you turn a single dollar in profit.

Re: Cryptocurrency or Stock Market?
by
realaccountakira
on 11/07/2018, 05:53:10 UTC
As we all know, stock market had been there for a very long time now and on the other hand, cryptocurrency is a fast rising trend when it comes to the world of trade and commerce. Some may prefer to invest in crypto because of high returns but some will still go with stock market and play it safe.
In your opinion, what will be the best option to invest your money on?

Both traditional stocks and crypto markets have their advantages and disadvantages. It would be easy to compare both by simply viewing traditional stocks as safer yet slower investment vehicles while seeing crypto markets as faster but riskier.

In the end, it all depends on your risk appetite and how long you are willing to hold.

Which are the best competitors to Ethereum, and why do you think so?

(I know on top of my head that Cardano and IOTA try to challenge Ethereum,
although they still haven't proved much from my understanding?)

Currently, i don't think there is any other altcoin out there that can really compete with Ethereum's adoption rates.

If i absolutely had to choose, then Cardano and NEO could be possible options. But in the end, it really boils down to what the real world uses and that is Ethereum. Moreso when ETH finishes solving scalability issues, all other blockchain platforms will crumble.

Re: how much killowatt needs to run a mining rig?
by
realaccountakira
on 10/07/2018, 08:05:16 UTC
how much kilowatt does my set up needs to run this mining rig?
it depends on the brand/GPU type, AMD / NVIDIA has a difference on power consumption.

yes maybe Max 1.6KW will be needed

Unless you want to run inefficient mining rigs, 1.6 kw is a WRONG maximum amount.

If you really want to step out of the amateur "hobby" mining niche you need ffficient mining rigs which need to run with a minimum of 13 GPUs per rig. The better the GPU on those rigs the higher the power consumption. For maximum efficiency you would need high powered GPUs that give the best hashrate to power consumption ratios (1080ti will do). To run those, a 1.6kw power consumption surely won't cut it.

Re: Does bitcoin have a bad effect on economic impact and those who do not know it y
by
realaccountakira
on 10/07/2018, 07:14:39 UTC
Bitcoin is rising worldwide.
Is there a possibility to change the economy of each country?
because as far as I know bitcoin is also about money.
And bitcoin is can be used for paying bills, paying tuition fees and even shopping and more.
I just asked.
it has a bad effect on economy and normal people who have not yet known what bitcoin is?

Hard to answer your questions because it is so vague but if you want a vague answer too then YES, bitcoin can change the economy of a country.

From a macro economics perspective, bitcoin and cryptocurrencies can introduce radical change to financial systems and positively change the way a country deals with fiat. Just take a look at the countries who have started to adopt crypto (Japan, Philippines, etc.), they are surely countries to watch out for as their economy is projected to boom.

Re: Mid-year, buy or sell ?
by
realaccountakira
on 10/07/2018, 07:12:13 UTC

The cryptocurrency market has fallen by half a year since the highest point at the end of last year. Bitcoin has been supported for $6,600 twice, and this time the lowest point is $5,800, which is basically in the same position, and the market has gone down three times and many people have already sold their coins. The departure has already left. Not many people are willing to continue selling.

At the same time, we can see that almost all icos will lose money once they are listed, and individuals who participate in ico are few. But so far this year's ico amount has exceeded the sum of last year, what does this mean? Explain that it is not an individual, but an institution, because they only have so much money.

Therefore, at this moment, I believe that the market is recovering, the driving force for the decline is weaker than the driving force for the rise, and the market will have rising demand in the future. As long as it does not fall below $5,800, this conclusion will be established. So I choose to invest and buy a project that I think is good, using one-third of the funds. If it cannot be established, the stop loss will be sold and the opportunity will be found again.

Talk about your point of view, I hope to communicate with you.

Great analysis. I completely agree and believe that people are actually "tired of selling." Usually when the market sentiment starts to feel like this, it becomes time for the cycle to change and the market is treated to a BULL-run.

I would say now is the time to BUY before the market rises to new highs.
