Hi, my wallet stops synchronizing from block 346000.

Any idea, how to solve this?

Had the same problem, delete the whole folder and start new

Every unit I ever received from Bitmain looked brand new.  I'm sure they they test them prior to shipping.  I don't think a company would stake its reputation on selling premined machines.  Furthermore, wouldn't it cost them more down the line in warranty repairs?

Hey all,

I've been reading this forum for a few months, and have been waiting to get into the mining game for a while. I understand there's a lot of uncertainty around Sia and the A3 with respect to long-term profitability, but even at $30-ish daily payout the ROI is far superior to other miners and the payback period is the shortest in the market (so far).

I finally got my A3 set up tonight, and things are looking great - but I have a few questions.

First, current stats:

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 G2, on a 110/120v, 20amp dedicated circuit

Avg hashrate: 830GH/s

Frequency: default 600

Temps:
PCB   Chip
45   58
45   59
46   60

Fan speeds: ~3,400
(I'm getting such low temps because it's sitting with the intake pointed at an open window with ~20F outside temps, so that won't last too long but really enjoying that it's quiet enough to sleep next to. I like a little white noise anyway)

Now my questions...

  • Mining pool selection - I set up SiaMining at first and was getting around 80SC/hour. In the spirit of decentralizing and supporting good pools, I swapped over to Luxor, and my SC/hour was much smaller. After over 90 minutes it was estimating about 30SC, so I reverted back to SiaMining. However, I just refreshed the Luxor page and it is showing 362SC for just under 2 hour's work. Why does the number fluctuate so much, and why was that figure so delayed? Is that typical with Luxor, or is it due to the nature of PPLNS? Also, it seemed to take MUCH longer for my hashrate to reach ~800 on Luxor (30 mins or so) vs. SiaMining where I had full hash within a couple minutes. Or should I go with F2Pool instead? Haven't tried that one out yet.
  • HW error rate - People have been mentioning HW errors as "a lot of errors" or "an acceptable rate", but I haven't seen hard stats on what those rates actually are.
     Is 0.01% too high? 0.1%? 1%? I'm currently at 0.006%...
  • Overclocking - Given my stats above, I'm surprised everyone is having to underclock their miners... I guess I'll chalk it up to it being reallly cold outside at the moment. However, I'm looking to overclock my miner, at least during the day when I'm gone and don't need lower fan speeds for noise. I'm not going to touch anything until my Kill A Watt shows up and I can monitor power draw, but with the EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 Gold on a 110/120v, 20Amp dedicated circuit, what does everyone think I should limit my at-the-wall wattage to? Also I'm more than happy to get a read on draw at a multitude of frequencies since seems other people have also asked for that as well. Curious about HW rate tolerance as well.

Thanks in advance!

-Glosed

When I was mining on Luxor I noticed that they update the true share count every half hour or so hence the reason it spiked after awhile.  I haven't mined there for awhile and not sure if they did change the payout scheme but when I was mining at Luxor, I found out that in the long term the SC mined per hour was equal if not better than siamining.  3% is robbery but its on par with most PPS pool.  I don't like the centralization at one pool either but I like seeing the stats in real time which is why I use siamining despite the 3% fee.

What happened to the Dagfix update option on the dashboard?  Is the driver update built into all distributions now?

The reason I ask is because I have two rigs each with 12 GPU's.  These GPU's are combination of AMD RX series 470, 570, 480 and 580 cards.  All have been bios modded and I can hit 900+ H/s when mining Electroneum or other CryptoNight coins but I recently decided to start dual mining Ethereum and Decred and all 24 of my cards are barely hitting 22 mh/s.  Everything I've researched says I should be getting at least 27-30 Mh/s per card.  I've been fighting this issue for a week now and can not figure it out.

Please help me before I loose my damn mind.
yeah i also asked about the dag fix update because you can't undervolt without it, but i got no answer..

Here you go:

http://download.simplemining.net/

Not sure exactly which one works, its been awhile since I've burned the img so you may have to try different versions.

Would be nice if you got some screen shots of this in action and what OS or Linux it is based off.
thank you so much

What do you mean what OS? Simple Mining Operating System.  Title of this whole thread.   Miner program=sgminer.

Not sure if this has been addressed but is anyone mining Keccak coins with smos.  If so can someone post a config script please.  Nm got it:

sgminer
--no-submit-stale --kernel keccak -o stratum+tcp://: -u -p x

Dfferent algos, its most likely hard coded.  You won't be able to hash X11 with A3s for sure and vice versa.

Some local guy is trying to sell one for $8500. Will these be hard to get? I know they are sold out now.

There is no way it’s worth even half that price. Income has dropped by half in the past few days and will likely go south of $100/day by next week.

Yea, its not worth 8500, but that stupid Baikal is selling for 10k wtf...  All these miners are way overpriced... have no idea what is going on. Huh
What is going on is in the name of CGMINER...    Crypto Greed Miner!  I don't understand why people pay so much and their ROI is 8+ months with a flat calculation, and not calculating in rate of decay of income.  But hey...  just makes the rest of us look smarter!

where there's abundant stupidity, there's abundant opportunity.

I feel bad for the Obelisk buyers, they're really screwed unless SC price goes through the roof.  ROI is drastically decreasing as more miners come online.  ROI is now $75/day.

Network hashrate has gone 4x since I plugged my miner in 2 days ago.  Profitability going down by the hour.

Support me on the decred redit. Let's push the decred community to soft fork to defend itself against the obelisk dcr1 miner. The SIA development team have proven themselves untrustworthy. Who knows what they will do with all that decred asic hardware?! They will probably 51% attack the network! I heard that they sold 1 million miners!

1 million miners! yeah that doesn't sound credible.

Hey, a guy said it. It must be true. Just like how siacoin community believes that bitmain produced 100,000 A3's. Some guy said it, must be true. Let's work together to defend decred from obelisk!

Just because some guy said it doesn't make it true, you need hard data before you can make such an accusation.  Also isn't obelisk working with the Decred dev team? why would they attack their own livelihood?

Luxor works but they report hashrate every 4 minutes and total coins earned maybe every half hour.  Siamining shows you stats in real time.  Seems Siamining gets more coins per hour for me which is strange because my ping is 2ms to Luxor EU as opposed to 1000ms to siaminng.

Curious, they have so massive interest these days in altcoins and they decided to become unactive on this forum, just see bitmain's profile.
What do you think guys, does it worths to buy this miner? Maybe it's out of stock now, haven't seen but can buy in a good price.
Also what about price of those coins which are minable by antminer a3? Did their difficulty grew much these days?

The network hash rate has doubled since yesterday, expect the difficulty to keep rising and the profitability decreasing as more miners join the network.  By how much its difficult to say as Bitmain has not released total units sold/produced.  Some estimates are that 10k units have been sold judging from the bitmain bch receiving address but this doesn't account for power supplies and other miners.

Guys if Sia decides to softfork it won't happen overnight, it takes considerable thought and planning.  This is decentralized storage  user and company files are at stake, there needs to be consensus.  Sia is not gonna just flip a switch and softfork.  If they do it will probably take a couple of months at least.

I'm using 3 power supplies to power a A3 using 120v power.  The miner takes almost 1500 watts using a watt meter.

Anyone got their A4 working with nicehash? I tried the stratum under Sia but the miner shuts down after a few seconds.  NVM found it:

"Temporary, we have disabled placing Blake2s orders and we may reinitiate placing them when we have stronger anti-market manipulation tactics in place."
