Buyout is currently set at the price of 280 USD, with a 20% discount for purchase by bitcoin, putting the price at $232! PM me if you want to make an offer. You don't need to go through the unusual trading site if you don't want to, but it's a good place to compare prices.

If anything, wouldn't BTC be satanic? Sounds a bit like the supra-national currency mentioned in Revelations, and I'm sure that 666 has popped up in the blockchain here and there.

Software generally isn't an issue, there are drivers, and you can use MSI afterburn on multiple cards. Do you have enough PCIe slots for the cards?

Re: Burn Wii games for me -- .10 BTC apiece
by

Hang on...

1BTC is worth about $7, right?

So you're paying 70 cents for each game?

I doubt very much that will cover the cost of the disc or the packaging, let alone both and adding postage on top of that. Especially since I know at least one of the games you asked for requires a dual layer disc.

This is a silly idea.
Which game? Sorry, I was under the impression that Wii games were all small enough for a single layer disc. I'll pay double if a single iso image had to be split across two discs to fit. Also, I mentioned that I would pay for packaging and shipping in the original post. And at the Fry's near where I live, you can buy regular writable DVDs for around $10/50 disc package. That leaves a 70% margin to pay for bandwidth and time.

Also, this is not an FBI-Nintendo joint sting operation.

provide a list of download links/ torrents so we know what you are after exactly.

That way one can download all the links burn them as iso files and let you create the Wii compatible disks

Sure, that would work, but you'd have to physically transfer the files to me somehow. My download kB/s is in the double digits, so internet is no good.

Burn Wii games for me -- .10 BTC apiece
by

I recently bought a modded Wii, but my internet connection is terrible. Burn a working Wii backup from the list below and mail it to me, and I'll send you 10 bitpennies for every working disc, or just send me your existing, working Wii backup discs. PM me with the games you have, and I'll set up a clearcoin.

Desired games:
 - No More Heroes 1
 - No More Heroes 2
 - Super Mario Galaxy 1
 - Super Mario Galaxy 2
 - GoldenEye 007
 - Resident Evil 4
 - House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return
 - House of the Dead: Overkill
 - Conduit 2
 - Super Smash Brothers Brawl
 - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
 - Castle of Shikigami 3
 - Mario Kart Wii
 - Elebits
 - Trauma Center: New Blood
 - Guilty Gear XX Accent Core
 - Tatsunoko vs Capcom

edit: added links.

That's 1.7 BTC altogether, for a handful of DVDs and a stamp. I'll pay a bit more if the games arrive in soft sleeves, but don't send hard jewel cases. Since a DVD weighs 16 grams, and the USPS charges 44 cents for an envelope up to around 93 grams, I'll send another .10 BTC to cover shipping costs if you're sending more than 5 discs at a time.

People who have a Wii to test out games are preferred, but I'll buy from anyone with a working backup. Games should be NTSC or RF.

It depends on your confidence in bitcoin. Whether or not you'll pay for your videocard in a reasonable amount of time depends on how you expect bitcoin's value against other currencies to behave.

Re: You are threatening Bitcoin’s security
by

on 18/05/2011, 11:27:06 UTC
The idea Tycho would do something with his 'powers' as soon as his pool reaches 50% is just simply stupid.

Currently (in the current market) the guy makes 1000 - 1300$ PER DAY , that is 30k to 39k PER MONTH. In untaxed money even.

He would be stupid to do anything to destabilize the bitcoin market.

So what? There are lots of entities that would like to endanger Bitcoin and they would certainly bribe/infiltrate with money that would let your figures look like peanuts. But yeah, let’s just wait until this happens and trust in Bitcoin vanishes in an instant. As long as you can get USD for your Bitcoins everything’s fine.

Yes, there's a long theoretical list of people who might like to endanger Bitcoin. If any one of them have that much cash available to them then they can also build a super cluster and/or manipulate/corner the market. Both can be accomplished pretty easily and with relative anonymity for someone with said amount of cash. Trust would only vanish for people who are only worried about getting USD for their Bitcoins.
Based on the structure of bitcoin, wouldn't sheer processing power be the least profitable way to attempt to attack it? I'm more worried about tycho losing control of deepbit; the thought that entire this currency might hinge on one individual's security measures is a little disconcerting.

no kidding. I didn't see a price tag on the site when I posted this, but from their retailers, it's obviously not cost-effective. $900~ for the cheapest set, I'd be better off with a new rig.
