Georgem,

Don't be so hard on yourself. I personally believe that this recent rise in Spread was due to all of the hard work and development you've done recently.

You should be patting yourself on the back.

Cheers!

can i still get helium if i buy right now spread from bittrex?
No real answer right now. I know there was talk a while ago of a manual swap but I'd be careful, that isn't confirmed. If you buy SPR now on Trex there is no guarantee of a swap that I know of. Enter at your own risk.

No, you can't get HLM because the snapshot is over. HLM is already listed on Cryptopia, just waiting on the network to launch.

BUMP

TL;DR --

The snapshot will take place on October 10th, at 10AM NZ local time (Cryptopia is a NZ exchange). The block height is 1657200

So as soon as you see block 1657201 confirmed in the SpreadCoin full node wallet is it safe to do whatever you want with SPR?

When will there be a wallet available for Helium?

I am personally going to wait until confirmation of snapshot completion / receiving my HLM on Cryptopia. However, in theory yes, as soon as block 1657201 comes through you should be ok to move your coins to where you please. If your coins are on Cryptopia, I imagine that you would receive your HLM fairly quickly.

can we move ours coins now to crypotpia or we need to wait the block number 1657200 before sending anything?

Move them well before that blockheight. Sometimes coins take a while coming out of Bittrex. Personally, I would send the coins ASAP or at the latest 1 whole day before the snapshot is scheduled just to be sure everything is all set. Any coins that haven't confirmed in your main wallet or Cryptopia by block 1657200 will not count towards HLM. Again, I would move them well before we got close to that block height to ensure they are safely on Cryptopia or in a local wallet.

How to partecipate to the airdrop?

Purchase SPR on Bittrex or Cryptopia and then move your coins to your local Spreadcoin wallet or to Cryptopia's SPR wallet. If your coins are in your Spreadcoin wallet you will need to manually sign a message from your wallet with your HLM address to the team to receive your coins (will be longer to get HLM doing this than using Cryptopia).

If you put your SPR on Cryptopia (BEFORE OCT 10 @ 10AM NZ Time (GMT+13)) you will receive your HLM on the exchange there. Ratio is 1:1.

Extra loud for the people in the back.

Put your coins on Cryptopia or in your local wallet to receive HLM.

Any SPR on Bittrex will NOT be able to be turned into HLM. DON'T KEEP YOUR COINS ON BITTREX IF YOU WANT HLM.

CROSS POST FROM SLACK - SNAPSHOT DATE & TIME & EXCHANGE INFORMATION:

KARMASHARK:

Good evening everyone (in Canada it is dinner time ). You all have been extremely patient while we have put together the final pieces of the snapshot and launch. We will have an exchange partner with us and that exchange is Cryptopia. Between the professionalism shown in negotiations with us and their growing positive reputation as an exchange, we felt this was an ideal pivot to make for the network. The reason why we are not using Bittrex is due to the changing regulatory landscape and the internal decisions that stemmed from that (more background checks on coins to be listed, legal requirements and potential lawyers, increased site security and KYC and AML applications). All of these changes put listing a new coin / administering an air drop to a much lower priority from Bittrex's perspective.

We are still on very good terms with Bittrex due to the hard work we put in leading up to this as we went through a thorough vetting process with them between @coins101 and myself.  This work we put will hopefully get us in a position to be listed with Bittrex once Helium launches without hitch. We continue to progress conversations with Bittrex to advance this long term goal for Helium.

About the snapshot:

The snapshot will take place on October 10th, at 10AM NZ local time (Cryptopia is a NZ exchange). The block height is 1657200 and should fall within the listed time-frame. You will want to have your Spreadcoins (SPR) in your local Spreadcoin wallet or deposited at Cryptopia in the Spreadcoin wallet in your account. Cryptopia will be assisting with the air drop of Helium coins so if you are holding your SPR at Cryptopia you will be credited an equal amount of Helium coins once the air drop commences.

In summary, you will have to two options to prepare for the Oct 10th, 10AM NZ local time snapshot of the Spreadcoin blockchain (please note the TZ and adjust for your local TZ):

Holding your SPR at Cryptopia
Holding your SPR in your local SPR wallet

Details on the launch and specifics regarding Cryptopia and holding your SPR in your local wallet will be included in the next update. We are very close now to launching the Helium network so get ready to start your engines, the show is just about to begin.

how long will it take for the Helium coins to appear in Cryptopia? I don't think they will appear instantly after the block 1644100. Maybe, Spreadcoins will also be locked for some time. In this case it will not be possible to sell them right after the snapshot.

Is block 1,644,100 even totally confirmed and 100% set in stone?

No. The blockheight for the snapshot is going to be 1657200.

Snapshot will be at blockheight 1657200. Should fall around the designated time of 10AM on October 10th (New Zealand time -- GMT +13). Launch should be shortly after -- details on that will come next update.

SPR needs more notice. The price isn't doing much and yet the volume went up 700%. Whats going on? I know SPR is heavily influenced by bots but id think this coin would have taken off to at least mid 8's by now..

The market is in correction at the moment. If it was rising I think SPR would be much higher. I hope it goes way up before the 9th/10th.

the Spreadcoin pump be like...

the Helium pump be like...

If you have your coins on Bittrex please move them to your local Spreadcoin wallet or to Cryptopia to be eligible to receive Helium. You need to have this done BEFORE 10AM NZ time on October 10th (9th of October for many people).

what is the block reward for this coin? 7% more coins per year but what is that per block?

Initially it will likely be around 3.6 coins per block based on my calculations - just a rough estimate though. (Less masternode and dev fund amounts; 45% & 10% respectively)

So we able to keep our coins in bitrex during the swap? Dunno if was already answered but apreciate if one can say if there is any update regarding this.

Thx

There hasn't been an update yet regarding that. I would suggest keeping them in your local wallet & that way you won't have to move anything around last minute if something changes.

I just want to post a quick summary here - someone please correct me if any of this is wrong.

1. Snapshot conversion from SPR to HLM will occur sometime (probably) in next few weeks. There will be some sort of announcement.
2. SPR currently for sale only on Bittrex

These are both correct.

Please help me clarify the following:

1. What's the best way to hold SPR for the snapshot? Just on Bittrex? Desktop Wallet? What is the best way to hold HLM post-snapshot?
2. What should i watch for the snapshot announcement and other info? link?
3. How many HLM will be required for a masternode?

Im interested but at work right now and thought id just post this real quick. Im sure many of these questions are answered here already but i have not found them in the replies yet - sorry

thanks!

1. Best, most secure way is in a wallet to which you hold the private keys. This ensures if Bittrex doesn't happen to facilitate the snapshot that your coins won't accidentally not be a part of the snapshot.
2. Slack is the best place likely. However, I am sure that the date and instructions will be made plenty clear here as well.
3. 1000 HLM will be required for a masternode.

You guy's know Helium is just an escape vehicle for Spreadcoin bag holders? Do some research.

https://github.com/spreadcoin/spreadcoin

Why would a developer fork this s@*t?

Only sensible reason behind it is so Spreadcoin bag holders are able to finally have a large stake in a masternode token.

Spreadcoin $1 now, nearing $10 marketcap... with the prospect of above code and masternodes?

Wow.

Over two years Georgem lied.

Read the link page to see why helium appears.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1045373.5480

I know exactly what happened, I have a little history with SPR.
And there's nothing wrong with what the Helium team are doing, I just personally feel
that everyone should know the real reason Helium is a fork of SPR and not a completely new token (So the large SPR holders can have a controlling stake and manage the project how they want).
Nothing wrong with that but the community should know the true motives here.

The SPR code is old and needs serious core development work, take a look.
I'm open to any reasoning as to why the Helium team would fork SPR, but it's pretty obvious from my perspective.

I don't exactly know why you are coming in here and spreading misinformation. But you are highly incorrect. HLM won't be a fork of Spreadcoin. It will be a snapshot of Spreadcoin and will be a hardfork of Dash until it moves away from Dash when Service Nodes are developed.

Semantics.

Snapshot of the chain so you guys can import your private keys over to Helium blockchain.
Why not just fork Dash and start over?

It's not semantics when your main point was about the codebase being old?

Coins has made a post about why the split is being done the way it is. It is in the OP. But clearly you don't care to read and instead want to spread misinformation.

Sorry, this confused me

Spreadcoin > HLM economic fork

The only 'Fork' is that of Dash>HLM. The only reason SPR is mentioned is to import SPR Private keys to HLM.
Again so large holders from SPR can have a majority stake in the project.

This isn't a Fork of SPR>HLM, HLM is a new Alt with a large pre-mine/instamine.
And will propably retain "Non premined status", great.

Worse than I originally thought.

The Spreadcoin to Helium switch is nothing more than a community based effort to change the direction of a project. Not much different from a hardfork, in principle. Do you believe if a community wants to take a coin in a different direction (after spending loads of time, energy and money) should just leave and make their own brand new coin from scratch? Most people invested in Spreadcoin (well, at least I did) because of Coins101's ideas and whitepapers. I and a number of other people spent time and money (donating to Georgem) with the expectation that Georgem would deliver on those ideas. Alas, he hasn't, and won't, because the whitepapers aren't in line with his ideology. That wasn't made clear initially though, because until the end of last year, the community was told everything was being worked on highly diligently... I don't need to explain this to you... you know.

As you have said, a hardfork is not technically feasible because the Spreadcoin codebase is so old. So the only other option without just ditching everything  is to fork a working coinbase and continue the community and ideas elsewhere with a competent developement team that will work inline with what the community here has invested in (Service Nodes).

I appreciate that you are allowed to have your grievances and your questions / skepticisms. But I can't respect the way you have brought them up as you made false claims and accusations from the very start.
