Why is there a token swap?
Apparently it's necessary for scaling, and I suppose general optics. This update is fundamental to realizing the full potential of the Ecosystem.
To ensure that the MyBit Ecosystem is able to effectively handle mass adoption, where IoT will become a 11.1 Trillion industry on itself. And where they need to adapt..

This is the reason why I prefer having my new digital assets on exchanges, at least I won't have worry about chasing the project every now and then to know when there will be a swap. Though some development team does a good swap in the sense that they tar a snapshot of the blockchain and pay everybody with the new swapped tokens/coin according to you holding power and swap ratio. I hope HitBTC holdings will be swapped?

I think the project has yet to really accomplish a major milestone but I believe the team is really working hard for it. They are also giving a little update every now and then. I hope this will really turn out good.

Yea i see what you mean but it was super clear to all of us investors that its 5 million max supply and phase 2 sale happening. I dont see it as penalizing because as hodler long-term its a good trade to have mybit with extra captial to execute with this ambitious project. With the 5 million max supply all token hodlers are going to reap immense benefits if mybit executes well
Ok I gotcha, I can definitely deal with a 5 million max supply, that's still tiny. MYB is doing quite well right now @~7.50 and zero hype.

@38 cents now it was 41 cents a bit earlier. All this and its not on a major exchange.
I'm also wondering what the Token Sale Phase 2 is about and if it will dilute existing shares.
What's the details on the "Q3 2018 Token Sale Phase 2" in the roadmap? Is this going to dilute the value of existing tokens?
It's my understanding that the second token sale will be done once the token is much higher in value (around $20 i believe was mentioned) and it is done in order to increase the liquidity of the token while providing additional capital for the Mybit foundation to be able to expand. As you can see in the end of year summary, it has been confirmed that there will be a burning model implemented for network access. This will be pegged at $1USD worth of mybit and will decrease supply over time (which is hardcapped at 5million), I am a long-term hodler of Mybit and I consider the token sale phase 2 necessary for Mybit to reach its full potential
Getting on more exchanges will increase liquidity. I get that more funds will help MYBit grow but there has to be a way to do that without penalizing the early investors by decreasing demand. Aside from the platform itself , the low circulating supply was a major incentive for many of us to invest. I wish MYBIT all the success but I would appreciate a solid explanation from the Mybit team.

This coin indeed had an ICO in 2015. Originally SAFEX was to be built on the Maidsafe platform, but because that platform had too many technical difficulties it wasn't going to happen. In 2016, after too much delays with Maidsafe, in a community vote it was decided to build a new blockchain from scratch.
Since then work has progressed nicely and everything Daniel delivered has been top-notch. Yes there have been delays, but he always delivered in the end, and put quality over speed which is the correct prioritization in this business. It seems Daniel and the team learned from their mistakes during the wallet release (promising too much too fast) and i doubt they will make the same mistake again.
fud or not, these are just the facts.
dan may be a talented guy who could pull it off, but there is a reason why he's pretty much a one man team and nobody else is working on it...funding? business skills?
if you call progress nicely a wallet, website and calculator, then sure.
of course everybody here who holds coins will shill...i'm just presenting this as i see it, from someone who doesn't and wont' hold any coins.
this project is too slow in handling, so the coin time is hit by dump is very difficult to rise again, with news about new platform that will be launched 2018 hopefully this project will be better again
Gives us time to load up. This coin would be a steal even @ $20....Just look at Minex coin, now @~$68 with a similar supply to MYBIT.. I saw in an interview , the MYB team is busy working on their platform and cementing partnerships. So the lack of news is not reflective of the project itself IMO.
I think it is like comparing apple and oranges, both projects may have similar number of token supply but their functionality differs, most of the MNX tokens are locked up in their MineBank which is driving up the price unlike MyBit platform
Even without locking up coins MYB has less supply. Sure they have different functions , but the I.O.T. has huge potential. When MYB introduces their platform and starts with the marketing, look out!
