I apologize if this has been discussed before...

There is an implied "put" option a swap taker has. The Swap Taker can take at a specific rate for a specified period of time. Let's say BTC 0.0055% per day for 30 days. Let's say that someone posts 0.0050% for 30 days, then the Swap Taker can take the new swap and cancel the original swap.

I do not have a problem with allowing the person to cancel, especially if they are cancelling a loosing trade. Since the swap provider does not have a similar cancellation ability, I think there should be a cancellation fee for the unused remaining time. That way, the swap taker will be more careful about how many days they take.

Heads up.
X13 pool disabled for a bit here (hopefully so miners failover).

Glad I switched over to X11 (x13 is less stable for me) for the weekend before I left.

He's asking for the data regarding WHY we switched to a coin (the price/etc that made us consider it the right choice), not the data once mined (which is all public already).

Ok. I thought he wanted to confirm he was being paid the right amount (not cheated by the pool). If he wants to know why WP mines a particular coin, then that's a secret you have a right to keep.

Quote from: Goldbit89
once again im not asking the pool owners to describe the methods, but i do want the hard line profit numbers.

If he wants "hard line profit numbers", the only missing data is the actual conversion rates to BTC.

I finally got x13 working. My hash rates stats for a pair of r9 280x are: x11 is 4.2x scrypt, and x13 is 3.1x scrypt.

Since WP assumes 4.0x and 3.5x, I actually need x13 to be estimated to be 20% more profitable than x11 to break even.

Some things we publish because of the potential for me doing something nefarious, for example, we publish all of the blocks we find, which can easily be matched up to the work we send for miners, and you can easily see I'm not skimming blocks (a large number of other pools don't publish this info).  We certainly have no requirement to publish anything, but I try to publish as much as possible to make sure everyone understands I'm being as transparent as possible (within reason), and that we're all on the same team.

If you published the following, Goldie can figure out if he is being paid about the right amount:

1) Add "pool hash rate" to the recently found blocks stat. I presume my approximate share would be (my average rate)/(pool rate)
2) Coin Conversion transactions: Coin, time, # of coin converted, Net # of BTC received)

So, if 12 urocoin were mined when the pool hash rate was 93GH, and my hash rate is 6GH, then I should be allocated about .77 urocoin (ignoring pplns effects). That number can then be compared to the earnings log.

If 24 urocoin are then converted to .18 BTC, then I should get about .00578 btc.

So, the only piece that Goldie is missing is a log of conversion transactions. Although, if I recall correctly, gains and losses are allocated to current miners at the time received (coins got stuck at exchange, price went up, and people currently mining benefited).

So, Goldie can figure out for himself if he has the right payout by:
Using the Recently Found Blocks to estimate his share of the payout (he would have to pull the pool has rate, and use his own average hash rate).
Compare that to Earnings Log for his miner, with slight differences (averaging to 0 over time) likely due to PPLNS effect.
Pull the spot price for the coin. Compare that to the Earnings Log.

PW would then have to somehow disclose the allocation of conversion gains/losses. With that adjustment, he should be close to the actual payout.

Goldbit:

Assume Altcoin/btc spot prices are:

8:00:00 500 Altcoin/btc, is profitable, and added to the mining pool
9:00:00 spot price is 475
9:30:00 spot price is 450
10:00:00 spot price is 500
11:00:00 spot price is 600
11:30:00 spot price is 400
12:00:00 spot price is 375

Let's say that 50 Altcoin is mined at 9:00:00. Confirmed at 9:30:00. Exchanged for BTC at 12:00:00. What time do you want what posted?

1) The numbers that i was primary proposaling are the numbers (current exchange price) that are the "most profitable"  at that time. It is just a basic addition to the stats that would enhance the already shown "most profitable" and should be as easy as the already shown "most profitable" coin as it would come from exactly same data.

Coins are mined continuously. Do you want the last block of the most profitable coin, or the average for the last [time period] of the most profitable coin?

What if the "most profitable" coin being mined is only 25% of the pool?

What about "price/btc"? Time it was mined? Average over the last [period of time]?

You also want the actual exchange rate. Sometimes that doesn't happen for a while (hours). Wait to post until the exchange actually happens?

You also want the number of coins exchanged, and the realized BTC. What happens if there are a bunch of blocks that are all exchanged at the same time?

PW's accounting has that all matched up in order to allocate distributions. If you want real-time data, you can't get the actual exchange rate, because it may not happen for a while (takes time for coin to become confirmed, to transfer coins to exchange, and to execute an exchange order).

PW already publishes a list of recently found blocks on the Stats page. I suppose he can add to that list the spot BTC/coin at the time it was mined. Maybe also add the pool hash rate. Then you can estimate your share of the payout.

I don't know how hard it would be to add an exchange log: coin name, time, # of coins, BTC received.

Then you can do all the math you want.

Quick update guys:

From now on (first went out about 15min ago), payouts will be merged for all algorithms.

Yea!!! My Scrypt "Earned (not yet sent)" was cleared out.
I still have some "Unconverted (approximate)" of .00001496. The last time I mined Scrypt was a month ago. Is that an artifact of the algorithm, or are there some coins that have not been mined for a while, and have some token balances that are too small to be converted?

Also, I noticed the scrypt hash rate was 69% for 7/13/14, and 81% right now on 7/14/14. Any reason the coin switcher doesn't mine LTC to stay around 100%?

What does everyone think about this proposal? Would love to hear from miners, pool operators and even coin developers and who ever else would love to chime in.

Sounds good in theory, in practice it is much more difficult.
1) The numbers have to be for a period of time, and thus an average.
2) How the heck is PW going to know the spot coin/btc price average over the period of time?
3) What do you do with coins that have been earned, but not yet converted?

In any case, the short answer is: If you don't like the profitability, then go mine somewhere else. The x11 stats for 7/10/14 says you should have received 298% vs LTC mining. That should not be hard to check. Much easier than trying to verify coin by coin. If you think 298% is low, then have fun trying to beat 298%.

Btw, I see many ppl assume that everybody is mining on *nix systems. Why? windows works good enough, no driver hassle, cgwatcher friendly, easy to upgrade. Is it just because of a need for a hdd and some more ram?

*nix is free.

Are you running any Windows XP machines? If so, I might consider the switch, as I have XP licenses I am no longer using.

from x11 to x13 it just takes less than a minute to reconfigure everything. Almost all x11 settings work out of the box, it uses the same sgminer, a readily available kernel and likes the same graphic card drivers. Hell, it took just 10 seconds to restart cgwatcher with the another batch file.  Where is the problem?

I am using Ubuntu with Sgminer. I have been mining x11, and tried to switch to x13. I changed the kernal from x11mod to x13mod, and get the following error when running sgminer:

Question about "Flash Return Rate". Is the rate fixed at the time of borrowing? Or, if I borrow for 2 days, and on the 2nd day the rate changes, I get the new rate that day?

A couple of weeks ago, I switched my GPUs from mining Scrypt to X11 (same bitcoin address). The WP Stats page shows that I still have Script Coins earned (not yet sent), and a few unconverted. How long until those are all paid out?

Unconverted (approximate)    0.00001681    0.00048521    0.00050202

Smalltimer: Did you get x11 working? I needed to restart my miner, and everything I tried, sgminer for x11mod kept crashing.

I finally restarted the rig, and ran cgminer (on scrypt), and that ran fine. I then stopped cgminer, and immediately started sgminer (on x11mod), and it is working fine. cgminer must be setting something on the GPU that sgminer is not.

Is the x11 stat of "92% vs LTC" for 6/23/14 (partial) related to the guerilla coin problem?

Threadconcurrency can also cause problems. 8192 works on my 280x.

Smalltimer: I got 2 R9 280x GPUs running on a xubuntu box (ran for 2 days without any problems). When I tried to fine tune the settings sgminer started crashing the system. I narrowed it down to different settings for different cards (trying different settings on each card to see which is better). SGminer did not like that. Try the same I=16 setting on all cards (one parameter, not the same value for each card), and see what happens.

I also just noticed that you do not have a valid User name (field is blank). Did you blank it out in the pic? It should be your bitcoin address.

yokay: My novice guess is that you have a bad User address. Seems like your worker address is your wallet address. The form of the user name should be: "_". Since you only have one worker, just skip the "_" part. If you do that, on your stats page, it will show as "(default)" under the worker name.
