Yes, the product was launched on Friday!

I'm Divya from BTX Trader -- the guy quoted in the news article.

Please see below:
EDIT: We've launched!

Just because someone's using a nice template doesn't mean you should trust their site. Use with caution!
someone else is just using the BTX trader icons and layout.  which make sense as the ssl certificate for this site was registered on 2014/7/18 by BTXTrader LLC.

not saying the site is good or bad; just making the observation that it was setup with the past week or so.

bitbay,

We've been operating BTX Trader for the past six months with thousands of users who have linked their exchange accounts via API keys.
We are backed by a NASDAQ-traded public company (WPCS).

We're adding some testimonials to the site soon we well.

What kind of security do buyers have? I mean here, people use really old trusted escrows to purchase/sell bitcoins. So how can a user trust you, that if he sends money to you, you will send him bitcoins? Would you trust a stranger by sending him bitcoins first?

Regarding bank info:

Your information is never stored and is secured by an industry-leading financial aggregation service called Yodlee, which is trusted by companies like Paypal and Venmo. Please feel free to look them up. Coinbase uses them as well if I'm not mistaken.

We know and understand that some users just don't want to use instant account verification. At some point downstream, we will add micro-deposits for those users.

Regarding templates:

This is an in-house design Smiley

Regarding legitimacy:

Here are some links that might make you feel more comfortable:

Celery

We're just finishing up our beta testing. Buy coins directly from your bank account. Currently, US only.

Our goal is greater consumer adoption of digital currencies.

Could you give us some feedback?

The 200k is just the deposit. You still have to pay the full bid amount (likely close to the market price for 3,000 btc

Wouldn't it be the final bid amount + auction fees minus the 200k deposit? Where is a million dollar lottery ticket when you need it!

We're doing exactly this. Take a look https://www.govcoins.com

Is there a min buy in?

Folks, the btx group bid off -- we won't be able to get the necessary operations in place, in time.

Are you still going to charge everyone $100 for depositing their money with you since you were not able to get everything in place in time?

No.

The BTX group bid is off.

Folks, we're putting together group bids for the USMS auction.

My company (BTX Trader, backed by NASDAQ:WPCS) will put down the initial deposit.

There are a lot of details so please see them here: https://www.govcoins.com[1]

We consider this a near free opportunity to buy bitcoin at potentially good rates. Our goal is to give broader access to this auction.

Start by signing up -- we're opening bidding later today. There aren't that many days till the auction so the quicker you get started the better.

Example bid: $5,000 @ $400 -- so for 12.5 bitcoin. Worst case if we don't win, you lose $100 to our service fee. If you do get hit however, you just acquired bitcoin at great prices.

I am not sure if they will allow representative parties to bid
That said if someone made a 200K deposit on behalf of a group of parties and entered the auction it may be possible to resell them to the ones who wanted these coins.
They would need proof that they are an official bidder in the auction though.

Wait this runs in the cloud somehow or it runs on my PC? I thought it was a downloadable application.

Although it is a downloadable app, a lot of the features run on the cloud.

For example, stop orders stay active even after you log off. Another example would be the multi exchange historical data used in the charts (tick and bar) -- this lives in the cloud and gets pulled into the app.

Re: STOP LOSS ?
by

You can use BTX Trader. It supports Stop Limit orders for mt gox, bitstamp, btce and btcchina.

See this post on how to set it up.

Disclosure: I wrote it.

Is there an exchanger who offers STOP LOSS ?

slightly OT what are the price on which a stop loss should trigger off? "executed" price or market price?

I'm asking because if the latter is valid then all that was needed to trigg the stop loss order is for the highest bid to suddenly drop, even if there was no actual trade related to this dip. So there might have been a flash crash in the bid even though there was no flash crash in executed price.

Since if the makerket is still pretty low volume and has stop loss order based on market price, the highest bid can easily move a lot, especially on a volatile period like the ones we're in.

In the case of BTX, it triggers off the last price which is a common choice.

An update:

I've added OHLC/Candlestick charts. Bars are being created for bid, ask, mid and last price. The bars are updated in real-time as ticks come in.

I've attached a few screenshots.

Thoughts?  Grin

Thanks for the explanation, at least now I know what it means.  Still not easy to read, though.

Are there any plans to add any kind of bot-type features?  I'd really like some kind of trend-following stuff, like EMA/SMA crossovers, or even VWAP crossovers, for example.

As for priorities, I'd suggest that getting it working on other exchanges should be higher.  Simply due to there's a good chance that the legal issues and other problems surrounding Mt Gox will likely make it a bad exchange choice, or maybe even non-existent, in the very near future.

As it is right now, it is a non-choice for me.  There is no low-cost option for moving USD in/out any more with the Dwolla seizure, and what with no wire transfers going on right now.  Even so, wire is not an option for me, since I'm not going to pay $50 (or whatever it is) to move $20 over there to buy coins.  CampBX and Coinbase seem to be my only options to buy BTC with little to no cost of moving in the USD for the volume I'll be doing ($20 or so every paycheck).

I will incorporate your feedback in prioritizing the work to add additional exchanges.

If you have any specific suggestions for the chart -- please let me know; I am happy to make improvements.

Yes, I have something related to bots coming out in the near future. I will add more details once the features/functionality are hashed out.

Anyone unable to post and getting database errors?

On 'Post' it gets stuck for ~30s and then says database error when I try to post in the Trading Discussion forum.
