How do i replace the ancient version with the new one, without delete/recreate my droplet? And keeping the same wallet

I replace it.  Here, lete me help you out some on linux.  I move the old files out and then create a new section.

Quote
primecoind stop
cd ~
mv primecoin old4
git clone https://github.com/mikaelh2/primecoin

cd ~/primecoin/src
make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-
mkdir ~/.primecoin
echo "rpcuser=miner2
rpcpassword=test2
gen=1" > ~/.primecoin/primecoin.conf
sudo mv primecoind /usr/local/bin/.

primecoind --daemon

I don't understand. When I try to git the source, I get this:

Cloning into 'primecoin'...
error: The requested URL returned error: 502 Bad Gateway while accessing https://github.com/mikaelh2/primecoin/info/refs?service=git-upload-pack
fatal: HTTP request failed

Any recommendations?

I mined 2 blocks with my single 1CPU/512 MB VPS on digital ocean in the time that I was asleep/at work yesterday.

My AMD Phenom mined 0 though it didn't have internet while I was at work all day.

Since I got hom, I've started two more single core instances, using Chemisist's builds. So I now have three, one running the same build from Sunny that gave me the 2 blocks.

Haven't found anything so far. It's only cost me $0.40 to run all this, though, so it's worth it (to me).

I just want to extend a hearty thank you!!! to everyone who has contributed to this project so far.

I have had a blast setting up my digitalocean vps through SSH - something I haven't touched in more than a year. I am a *nix newb and this has reminded me of just how much fun it can be.

Just finished making my first build with the faster software. It says "blocks 0" on my terminal so I am assuming it just hasn't synchronized with the network yet. Once it has synchronized and I get a steady PPS I will update with my rate. I am on a 1CPU 512MB ($5/mo) instance.

Getting anywhere between 98-188 PPS right now.

Edit: I am running (1) VPS and (1) here at home using one of the compiled windows -qt from the sieve thread. Win7 64 on an AMD Phenom II X4 920 mobile 1.6GHz, getting 200-416 PPS depending on my usage of the PC. Much improvement over the 30pps I was getting last night, though I have been running for about 6 hours now and haven't found a block yet.

Here's hoping my luck improves, and I will send some tips out to the kind folks who have made this possible! Smiley

So, is the $160/mo instance profitable right now? Would it find blocks faster than 32 of the $5 instances?

It looks like I'm getting the same speed as one of Kimosan's 1CPU / 1GB instances with my 1CPU / 512MB instance, but his other instance of the same size is doing 270-300PPS? What is the difference?

I'm really interested in finding the ideal price/performance point on this VPS set up.

I think LTC may give BTC a good competition. Whoever wins that may be dethroned by an unknown contender.

We may end up with many different crypto currencies each with a strong enough network of support to outlast our individual lives.

Different cryptos excel in differing areas like anonymity, speed, security, stability, usefulness of "work" etc. We have hardly scraped the surface of possibility.

Cheers my good fellow. I am new here as well. A LTC connoisseur I am, having mined a few back in the day when a CPU could do it and receive 40/day! Though mining primecoin shall be my new goal, as soon as I can get some help compiling it in linux! Best wishes to you.
