Re: Is it possible to send commands to the Electrum Console through a Python script?
by

I have successfully used RPyC ( http://rpyc.readthedocs.org ) for this - in electrum console, import rpyc and start the server. Then when you connect with rpyc client from other python script, you can call any function in running electrum process.

Alternatively, you can write your own python module that calls electrum functions, import it in the console and call it.

Just a reminder: Many people still did not claim their S.MPOE-PT and S.BBET-PT holdings (passthroughs operated by Namworld).  If you had some, please sell them or convert them to direct MPEx shares held on CoinBr, it's still open:

I also saw that every time I refresh the page, a new deposit address is showed to me. so, are all the address showed exclusively mine or they are just temporary address? if they are temporary, you should say for how long they will be assigned to my account.
Is the user ID the same, just deposit addy changes? If yes, it's probably a Coinroll bug . If the user ID changes every time, then Coinroll can't remember you, maybe you have disabled cookies or there's another problems. Write email to support and tell them your user id and browser.

Seriously, what is it you're so butthurt about?
Less butthurt. More confused as to why this recruitment scheme has such a delusional cult following.
Did anyone invented anything better in bitcoin space? Or at least is there anyone else who has the balls to sustain running such business for years while publishing all information? I don't see what is here to be confused about.

And as I said before using a broker is like using another service. You are not avoiding the mandatory 30btc reg fee by paying some guy who has already paid that fee a slightly lower fee so he can buy shares for you.

You can continue to hurl insults and state how misinformed I am in every post but its not going to do anything besides waste time.
30BTC on CoinBr.com would pay you (if used half by half) 65 years of monthly fees + 750 withdrawals. I don't see how you can call that "slightly lower".... if you don' like people to call you misinformed, then don't try to scandalize a perfectly reasonable business.

Re: Problem with BOURSE forced buyback on Cryptostocks
by

Shame how this devolved into MP trolling, it only suits the BitcoinBourse perpetrator. This BOURSE cryptostocks stuff is only most recent of the string of fail (but more likely, outright scam) that this is. Just a short review:

September 2013: IPO launched by dotcoin and forensick, with early bird share prices of 0.1 BTC, total 30000 shares. I have talked personally to the cofounder (forensick), what made me gain some trust and I did invest in it.
October 2013: BitcoinBourse launched, IPO is still running (onsite) with share prices of 0.15BTC. Shares trading is not possible, will be only after all shares sell. Still over 20k shares unsold.
November 2013: The cofounder (forensick) left the company and told me he has not seen any bitcoins from the IPO and moreover was left with some outstanding debt by Markus Weiler (dotcoin).
December 2013:Announced planned relaunch by Christmas, with finally enabled trading of shares. Relaunch was later postponed. Still over 18k shares unsold to this day. Shareholders can't do anything and Markus explicitly wrote  to me shareholders aren't to receive any information how the IPO proceeds were used.

Whole time, the trade (and thus, dividends) on the exchange has been meager or non-existant. It has many reasons, from the weird SSL certificate, the fact that ID verification is needed, supply/demand on the order book was not seeded so it was often empty, to nonexistent or inappropriate advertising.  I tried to write Markus about this, he was convinced that Adwords campaign is the most he can do. He refused to understand that people coming to some random site via adwords click will not want to do ID verification. That won't stop him from claiming in the newsletters he has 500 or however much users. Also, instead of devoting the time to the project, he launched another side project, CryptoBourse, and started and stopped selling shares of both bourses on Cryptostocks.

If anyone considers to take steps against BitcoinSARL and its "CEO" Markus Weiler, I can provide assistance. I have got some background information that issuance of such unregistered "shares" may be frowned upon by French regulator. But most likely I'll never see my bitcoins again.

Re: Bitcoin with Raspberry Pi
by
rini17
on 18/01/2014, 12:49:07 UTC
I'm thinking about running a full node on Raspberry Pi with a web interface that looks like blockchain or Coinbase so that you could have a 'home server' that was secure and that supported the network. With so many thin clients running we're really losing a lot of Nodes.
It plainly won't work on Pi. Even if it would sync eventually, it would be so slow that it'd provide no added value to your nor to the network. Just stop dreaming and build yourself $150 celeron miniitx system + some > 100GB HDD from drawer. It would also easily support additional p2p goodies you'll want to try some other day.

For example I'm using this one as all-in-one bitcoind, electrum server, litecoind, freenet, home router, print server, anything: http://www.mini-itx.com/store/~GA-C847N

Pankakke - show me an escrow with 20 BTC in it and I'll code it up myself.
I might throw something in the pot myself, such a prodigious talent deserves it Cheesy

Incidentally, just recently I have procured the MPEx manual, which you are free to use as specification: http://explo.yt/category/MPEx

Not sure if you aren't troll... from the link it should be obvious that I'm using ZNC IRC bouncer and want to fix otr implementation for it. There is no other otr implementation for znc. I'm using it under Linux, don't know which other platforms znc-otr is supposed to support, that 's up to programmer.

My IRC OTR experience so far was a disaster (even irssi-otr doesn't work right for me, but I hate irssi anyway), it's time to have to have one good alternative implementation.

See here: https://github.com/rufoa/znc-otr/issues/1

For start, 1 bitcoin bounty is considered, I'm open to discuss.
