In the least version. The -d or --devices switch does not work. if I do -d 0 it still mines all gpus.

Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.6.8 - V8 & algo switching

I'm just struggling with the Vegas.
Doesn't seem to matter whether I increase voltage or lower clocks, after a few minutes mining Monerov8, all GPUs go boom, i.e. SRBminer says hashrate is zero for every single card... and it will fail automatic re-initialisation.

Using 120/16/2. They're all 56's flashed to 64.
Maybe I'm just at the limit of what the PSU is able to cope with... Power draw is between 1400 and 1435 for a EVGA 1500 G2...

hmm .Mybe. my 6 nitro+ vega 56 use 1170W on V8 and 970W on V7 from the wall. i have 2*750W PSU and all work...

just try mining with 5 vega.

just del last gpu { "id" : 5, "intensity" : 120, "worksize" : 16, "threads" : 2},

and try.

if work your PSU is problem
1170W from the wall? That's pretty good... What frequencies and voltages are you using? I know I've got one card that's struggling but I have yet to find time to isolate it and test with different frequencies & voltages. Anything under Mem_P3@975mV will not initialise it.

6*vega56 nitro+ (hynix) - GPU: 1498/900mv MEM: 929/936/958mhz -900mv (3 card work with 958mhz - 2card 936mhz 1 card 929mhz -all use 900mv

V7 970W(11650HR) - V8 1270W(11120HR) - FAST 1020W(22600HR) - Heavy 940W(9110HR) - TUBE 960W(9380HR)

what does your full system pull from the wall ? with V8 not just the cards

Doc,  Switch over worked great, thx for your continued support...

Do we need to tweak any of the setting for V8 or will the v7 work well?

meaning card settings..

Whats the good of having the tokens without a GOOD exchange listing. If you can't buy and sell the tokens they are just useless poker chips...they Market the hell out of this but yet no focus is given to actually having the ability to buy or sell it. Are they afraid everyone will dump it?

doktor,

I have a rig of vega56, I start the miner up and in getting 1500+ on the cards...it runs fine then about 1 hour into mining they all move to 1300+ . I checked the temps are fine, and they run but I loose 200+ per card after a hour or so..this did not happen on the last version..can you give me a clue what might be happening?

Anyone else getting random crashes...My miners will run fine for a day or two then I will get "all cuda devices are busy " error and the miner keep rolling with that error ... I even have a card that will not start with this error, I tried no over clock and even under volting but does not seem to help.

Seem to be more prevalent with my 1070 and 1080ti rigs.

Re: Vega FE and 1.6.4 Update
by
ripcurrent
on 26/07/2018, 13:41:08 UTC
Vega FEs are allergic to 18.3.4 and I'll get less hash-rate on Alloy/Heavy and CN7, on Alloy there is alot of STALE shares too, so the only viable driver is 18.6.1.

Results for a rig having 5 Vega FEs SRB Miner 1.6.4:
driver 18.6.1
CN7  = 11060 H/s
Alloy = 5670 H/s
note: Mining Alloy, on DevFee we get miner crash or error

driver 18.3.4
CN7  = 10900 H/s
Alloy = 5580 H/s
note: Mining Alloy, there is a lot of STALE shares.

Results for a rig having 5 Vega FEs SRB Miner 1.6.1:
driver 18.6.1
CN7  = 10910 H/s
Alloy = 5630 H/s

driver Blockchain Aug 23

Hello,

I was wondering if you could share how you setup your FE, I have one in which I cant seem to get working. I am trying to mine bittube with no success and if I do get it running it draws too much power.

CN7  = 10910 H/s
Alloy = 5630 H/s

=========================================
So in conclusion:
18.3.4 won't work for Vega FEs. For Alloy we have to use 1.6.1 and we get similar hashrates as blockchain driver.

Edited: The said crash/error occurs not on DevFee but right after when resuming!

Stales are not a problem if they are accepted,i guess the difficulty on the pool you use is low, and the pool sends jobs quickly, so that is why you get a lot of stales, but if they are accepted then you have no problem.
Also could you turn on logging (use --logfile log.txt in bat added) maybe i can get more info on the crash ?
If i understand you correctly only on 18.6.1 is the miner crashing, on 18.3.4 it isnt ?

Yes, I'll do this and see what we get. Regarding the drivers, I think 18.3.4 is just not working for me, even on CN7 I get lower hash-rate simiar to what I used to get on Blockchain driver about 150 H/s less or 50 H/s less on heavy/Alloy, but 18.6.1 has been very stable for me. So I avoid 18.3.4 totally. As for heavy/Alloy algo while using the SRB 1.6.4, I get GPU crash right after DevFee sometimes recovers after resetting the miner but other times I have to close the miner and restart it manually. I noticed this happened on 1.6.1 too but apparently less often. I don't have a clue what the cause could be, but I guess it might be something to do with change of algo from Alloy to DevFee and back. Unfortunately I have not had the chance to try any other heavy algo yet. I'll set the log and see what happens and come back. Thanks
