Re: Should Gavin resign from developement of Bitcoin? [POLL]

It would be good if everyone just ignored him and never ever even discusses to accept anything he codes. Best would be he comes out and says he's not coding for btc anymore because otherwise we have to deal with such bullshit all the time. He needs to make an altcoin because he is mentally not big enough to lead a decentralised open source project that requires a consensus of a large group of people. In an altcoin he can be the king and have a coin with 3 nodes of which are all hosted by him personally and all his minions can support him there.

What the guy means is total doomsday;

Ohhhh, like the millennium bug, I'm seeing what you're smoking now.

just wait for it after that idiot posted it here. The enemy is reading it too. Last time in here some spam was suggested to attack the network and 3 weeks later it happened. Can't wait for this to be tried out. Will certainly be epic.

this attack dwarfs a 51% attack by several orders of magnitude. Does this attack have a name or wiki-page yet?

Wat? 15-20% is now "several orders of maginitude" different than 51%?

Can we get some numerically literate commentary PUHLEASE.

i was talking about the fatality of the attack which would be enorm compared to a little doublespend.
Do you even comprehend the topic or you just try to deny it without even looking at/understanding it?

What the guy means is total doomsday; and relatively cheap considered the possible successrate and impact.
To resolve this issue one would need to hardfork bitcoin and change difficulty retarget. It's a total vulnerability as it is now.

alts are traded against btc.
I think since we are dealing with a lot rebels here too there could be a fair risk of a large part of trades going to litecoinmarkets and others. Seperating the altforum entirely will weaken bitcoin and strengthen altcoins particularly litecoin aswell as other alts which could be potentially then the coin of choice to trade other alts against if bitcoin is perceived as arrogant and elitist.

So seperating the two risks loosing demand for btc as the coin of choice to trade against.

I could be wrong but could happen. Seperating the forum could lead to seperation of groups (which is intended) and actually will weaken bitcoin.

so this guy -> AYEkRf9fNbLVkCTjHBpKHZD1X578TaYK6g
managed to get the passport of 120 people?

How many friends do you have who would give you their passport to put their data in some random website on the net?

Also this BS what i have heard of someone walking in bars asking for people to help out. As if people would give a stranger their national ID-card for not even 10$.  Roll Eyes

Look at yourself what a bullshit you are talking. Keep defending the scam, you are looking good!

b-b-b-b-but i thought Balduro was Jesus coming to safe us from the evil banks with free money raining from the sky  Cry

... no, seriously people: who's going to tell the icelands at facebook they were fooled? Who's going to burst their aurora-bubble-pipedream?

You think this is bad? I think we were lucky to have discovered this before it would have been too late!

Leave a single man unattended with a 50% premine to distribute to a nation is sure the most smart idea i have ever heard.  Roll Eyes

and then there was this thread in march:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=545475.0

this would be funny if it wasn't sad

Quote BCX in 29th march 2014:

"After digging deeper into the coin the only issue I had with AUR was the egregiously blatant potential for the development team to launder the premine for profit using the people of Iceland as mechanism.  To further this was the instant rejection by the founder to show any transparency or legitimacy into the Air Drop process with more than a month lead time pre-Air Drop. That was and still is the issue. "

what baffles me is how stupid someone can be to attempt to launder a premine like this on a public ledger. But what baffles me even more is how gullible and corrupt people on here are.

I'm sure the addresses that suck up many 31.8, 318 or 636 are the big buyers on the Icelandic auroracoin facebook groups https://www.facebook.com/groups/544259455688424/ they have a constant quote open and have been paying people out in ISK via bank deposits. But then again I'm no expert in digging through the blockchain.

do they buy in blocks of 500k?

This trust based airdrop is an invitation for balduro to give himself as many coins as he wants. Of course he is giving coins to himself. Everyone would do it if they were not supervised. Balduro really overdone it here. Too much to go unnoticed.

You can't make an unsupervised airdrop. You can't get on here and ask people to trust a single person with a potential marketcap of many hundred million. Think about it.

He would be jesus if he wasn't giving coins to himself. His absence here is suspicious too.

So he is strictly absent and making an unsupervised airdrop which is from an economic standpoint nonsense? I think all indicators point to: ask some serious questions here

I am sorry but i don't think you can unleash this coin on the world without risking serious harm to the whole industry.

Since Balduro is doing the airdrop he should at least be able to communicate here and answer some questions.
Unsupervised airdrop? Pardon me?

For me the blockchain evidence talks a pretty clear language. This is not some dude buying from people on facebook.

The one wallet is filled with 70k coins directly from the premine. Someone claimed hundreds of airdrops to the same adress (which should not even be possible). The other adress with 45k same pattern. Both end up sending to the same adress with exactly 500k in it. There is actually no real good explanation for this other than Balduro giving coins to himself. Just open your eyes man.

If Balduro is privately holding a large premine this can't be a useful coin for real life. The potential damage here is enorm.
I understand everyone holding AUR would like to see a ROI but people, you can't be doing this. Not on that scale.

this is apparently a scam of magnitude when you look through the transaction it's pretty undeniable.

I'd be careful to support this after this became public knowledge. Continuing suporting this could get you in trouble.

Good this was found out now and not later. Very lucky.

This is really a shame and could damage the reputation of all coins. Please get this mess cleaned up to protect investements on other coins. Thank you.

I'm going to make the call right now, and this isn't coming from some troll.  But I believe bitcoin will hit sub $100, possibly sub $50 before anything further interesting develops.  By all means, as a trader, I wish it hits $5000 or $10,000 in the next 3 days.  But I just don't see exponential development in the near future... the long run, who knows though.

I mean, wall street thinks bitcoin is overbought, overpriced, unsustainable.  The average citizen isn't crazy about bitcoin at all.  You ask the average Joe if they plan on buying bitcoin in the future and you get a melancholy "no".  You ask a smart ass in the streets about bitcoin and his answer is "the [expletivie] is that?"  You explain it and his response is well that is "[expletive] stupid".

Institutions are already in on it.  Speculators are looking to make a quick buck only.  Then there are cultists, which is a super minority, and they believe in a whole bunch of unrealistic possibility.  The problem with mass adoption is that why would someone go through all this trouble to buy bitcoins, only to spend it on a blu-ray player they could have just bought with their visa.

It seems like only select intelligent people truly believe in bitcoin, and intelligent people are few and far between in this world.

unobtanium, that's less inflationary and also less overbought. also not so expensive to run.

Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion]

ok, hello guys. I registered the token that was sent to me.
I figured redeeming stakes started.
I don't have traded on next ae, so no claimed nxt-tokens in my case.

Now if i run bob.nem.ninja/webstart it shows me a page where it says 'create new wallet'. I click that and create wallet.

My two questions:
1) is this already real nem-wallet or is it still testnet?
2) if this is the real adresses i can create now with bob.nem.ninja, what do i have to do now to receive my nem-stake? (where to send the adress to to get the coins credited?)

Hi,

Please read this: https://medium.com/@xtester/phase-2-btt-stakeholders-redemption-guide-becc1d120612 for more info on the redemption process.

To answer your questions:
1. It is a real NEM wallet address, but it's only there so you can use it in the redemption process. Later you will receive your NEM on the address you provide.
2. Please read the article above.

thanks for response. So claiming starts 1st of Nov, i didn't read that. I'll be watching the thread for progress. Thanks again.

no when you create a wallet they are testnet you need to uSe the create real account data feature in the options menu. Live net addresses start with "N" and testnet = "T". Do not send off a testnet address. There are some guides that you can follow but I'm on mobile so can't find the link.

The portal to send off your address has not been released yet.

ha! See! I was testnet. Valuable info. Thanks.

shit dev need to clam down , they scam people's money , they make investors bleeding  also they make miners heartbroken Cheesy

problem i see: legit coins only get launched once. The scam-devs need to make one or two new coins a week. And there is more than one scam-dev. So where is the end to that? When 100 new coins are released only 1 is no scam these days.

but it's right. In the end of the day investors need to become wiser.

New coins is risky as fuck these days.
