Is anyone here interested in a BTC to Betfair service?
I have a old UK Betfair account that I can use to place bets on your behalf in BTC equivalent.

Any suggestions are appreciated

Re: Sites to buy and sell on

Well BitMit is definitely the biggest one out there, I heartily recommend it.

Unfortunately there is a big cloud over BitMit in the moment as to exactly who owns it, and who has control over escrowed funds. BitMit don't appear to be interested in trying to clear this up either. How can you trust an escrow service if you don't know who runs it?

This is discussed in a number of threads on bitcointalk, for example:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=135366.0

That's them off my list then.

Seems the only real place is to trade here and otc with individuals direct.

I have to say as a businessman my early impressions of bitcoin as a medium for doing business with isn't good seems safe to assume everyone is a crook at worse or unprofessional at best until proved otherwise.

They are just following the trend. Spending cash in the EU is slowly becoming somewhere between strongly frowned upon and outright illegal. I cant see that changing ether within the Eurozone specifically as it becomes separate to the rest of the EU over the next couple of years. They need to try and make sure they are getting all they tax revenue they can and making cash unworkable forcing everyone onto a bank account and debit card then taxing transactions at source is the only realistic way.

Get a random gift from me

As I am new here I thought a fun way to build trust and earn some coin would be to send out surprise gifts to people from things I have lying around the house which is a lot. Guys never let the wife buy "stuff"

Most of it I would think is about 0.5BTC - 1BTC in value.

I would prefer only people inside the EU as the post here is a royal pain in the arse for sending outside the EU.
You can use the address in the sig to send the coins other than that I am not sure of the procedure but lets how it goes.

Before sending BTC, please tell me the amount you want to send and your shipping address.

Re: Moral Obligations of Bitcoin

This is a bit like asking about the moral obligations of having a bank account with BCCI which was the bank that said yes to Terrorists and Dictators.

The question is never "Is it moral", but "Is it legal".

I am interested sounds like a interesting project.

The specs aren't a problem as I use Premiere Pro CS6 to edit and encode projects that size easy enough.
The net is fast enough it isn't going to take a month to download and upload.

Do you have the footage already?

I have no idea about the US real Estate market but private mortgages between the existing owner and buyer are quite popular here they are legal contracts and pretty much like your option 1 suggestion.

The other way could be a land bank style company

One of the main problems is going to be trying to keep any sales within the community so it is bitcoin only

Re: Buying gold with Bitcoins?

That's always the case with Bitcoin, be it an ounce of $foo on SilkRoad or a moneyclip from Finland.

However, if you're ordering from someone who is/has a "real" company, registered within the confines of (say, European) mercantile law, you're really no worse off than when ordering and paying in advance with Euros or Dollars.

That being said, I can understand your need for escrow. I myself have never used it, I have *always* demanded my customer send the BTC first and there hasn't been a single one who hasn't received his goods in full and on time.

When you're not doing "meet-me-at-the-7/11-at-10-past-9pm" deals, you shouldn't *need* escrow. That (for one instance) is what #bitcoin-otc is for (this is me).

Good enough answer for me. Can you source gold sovereigns?

Re: Easiest way to buy bitcoins with credit card.

I would think it defeats the object of bitcoins by using a credit card but it seems that there are a few options. Does anyone know any others as using a card to purchase directly is so much easier
