Beware of Coins-e, No word from support, withdraws and deposits down for many.
They have put into maintenance mode many markets. One of them being Dogecoin.
It has been close to a week now and I have 0 responses.
Their twitter hasn't made an update since March 3rd.
Their trading markets are still up but you can't withdraw or deposit.
Since I'm one unlucky bastard I deposited 200k right when they screwed up. It's been in limbo for about a week now.
Can anyone help me out as to shedding the light on coins-e situation right now?

Well just to be clear, the coins that we will be adding will be added to a trial basis, due to previous coins having 0 transactions...
If whatever coin gets added and nobody purchases anything with it for a few months... Kinda pointless for them to even vote. lol
Also a note: A coin being added to our system most likely will not effect the price of the coin on a market, we are not an exchange.
But yea, way to go with raising the 1.40 btc!

i'm actually pretty sick of this voting shit.... i mean... if you make a new coin.... and are a big holder of btc yourself... you can buy youre own coin in so to speak.... that doesnt seem right at all.... thats more like scamming people mintpal!
they should set a maximum of btc donations for each coin... and let peoples voting do the rest

Coinpayment donates 100% of what it makes from votes.

I got a reply from creator Wantanabe about the issue on difficulty readjustment.
If you are not aware the block difficulty adjustment is around 1000 blocks. If a multipool were to jump on this the difficulty would skyrocket because as it stands the average hash rate is 100 Mh/s. If it were to jump, the block time would be crazy, something like 30 minutes possibly. As soon as multipools realize it's not profitable anymore they will jump ship and mine a different coin. So now you have 1000 blocks at a crazy difficulty that a network with 100 Mh/s has to deal with. This was a giant issue for catcoin but luckily the dev fixed it. My only question was, does the dev have plans on implementing a lower block readjustment.
The reply I got was, " He will adjust the one in the future, but not now. Recently, many Japanese have started to mine Monacoin, although many of them are newbie and use cpu. Adjusting requires updating of the wallet and the pool settings to make them be confuse. He doesn't want them to regret."
I'm really happy that I got a reply at all, even more happy that I know Monacoin won't be doomed if a multipool hits it.

I was, as recently as today, going to dump all my MONA for cheap. Why? I didn't think this coin was going anywhere.
Then I changed my mind.
More specifically, I remembered something from my youth.
When I was 12, I had a job at a paddle manufacturing facility. We made kayak paddles and canoe paddles. We made something like 20-30 paddles a week (my memory is foggy, this was 30yrs ago).
Suddenly, out of the blue, we were exporting hundreds of kayak paddles. Couldn't keep up with orders. Backordered for months.
Why?
For some reason I will never understand, hanging kayak paddles above your mantle became in vogue in Japan.
Then, as soon as we started to get orders under control, the fad ended. Back to 20-30 paddles a week.
The point to my story is, when the Japanese people get wind of something perceived as new and cool (and their friends like and/or use it), all bets are off. A strange kind of mania takes over and if you catch the wave at the right time you can profit handsomely.
I realise this little anecdote may be irrelevant to crypto-mining and currency speculation, but it did make me stop and hold my MONA. All I have to lose is few hours of hashing. Hats off to the speculators, I wouldn't do it but it takes balls and risk to make $$, eh?
