How do you revert a z9 mini from Fuddware 2.3 back to Bitmain  antminer-z9-mini-201805262047-500m.tar.gz?  (batch 1 firmware)

When I load Bitmain firmware, the miners are complaining

"Invalid system and miner configuration file. Edit manually or reset to default."

I have tried to reset to defaults but Bitmain code still complains.

Any advice on this?

Thanks,

Tom

Re: APW7 and Z11

APW3++ only does part of the Z11 miner on 120v.  I'm using two power supplies.  An expert said it's not really worth it to use a transformer, unless you have this really big, expensive one, and even those top out at 2% efficiency loss.

Not sure what country you operate from. My experience is in the USA but all 110-120v countries should be similar.

Skip the transformer.  Hire an electrician to install 240 volt circuits.  Your power panel should have a 240 volt main breaker.  Homes in the US typically have 100 amps, 200 amps, or 400 amps of 240v at the main panel.  The main breaker turns off all the power to your house.

Commercial buildings usually have much more power.

An electrician should be able to peel one or more 240 volt circuits from your panel and wire outlets to where you need them.

Figure out the amps you need for your miners and be sure to apply the 80% derating rule for continuous use (required by code).  For example, a 30 amp breaker can only run 24 amps on a continuous load.

Good luck.

I received my Ledger X on Friday May 17th.  I also received the free Ledger S which I didn't mention in the other thread and it sits here unopened.  Not really worth selling.  I already had a Ledger S from a year ago.  I'll probably give them to friends or family.

I wanted the Ledger X for more memory so I could load more than 3 coins.  I am currently hodling 4 different coins.  My Ledger X works great.  I like it better than the Ledger S.

FWIW Ledger Nano X is finally shipping.

I received my pre-order on Friday.

It arrived with a low battery warning.  I left it plugged into my computer's USB port for a few hours before the low battery warning went away.

I restored mine with the my Nano S recovery phrase.  Worked like a charm.

Used Ledger Live to add another coin group that would not fit on my Nano S.  Moved the coins from Coinomi to Ledger X.  Worked as expected.

Overall I am very pleased.

(Note: To ensure that you get your Ycash, you must possess your Zcash private keys.) <----not sure what this means. Will I be receiving my Ycash if I keep my Zcash in my Ledger Nano? If not where would I move them. Can someone elaborate?

It's complicated and not without risk.  I found two articles which explain what you need to know.

From someone on the YCASH team.

Is anyone getting more than 142KSol out of their Z11? If so, how much?

I have a theory that I need to prove as true/false that the auto-tuning functionality might be auto-limiting to prevent it from going above 142kSol and will auto-adjust frequency down to ensure that is the case.

-j

All 4 averaging 140KSol.    One is showing 156KSol /RT but it already has one chain downclocked.  Has been since yesterday.  My two units with a downclocked chain have not changed clocking.

zcash mining difficulty spiked today at an all time high.  But now is back down low.  Looks like a lot of Z11s were delivered or else somebody in China is testing a lot of them before shipment.

I also got hit with a $2127.01 charge from Fedex for the Trump tax on 4 units.  Sad

My shipment of Z11 just arrived.  Installed the first one 5 minutes ago.

Freq is 731

Mining on flypool.

Elapsed   KSol/S(RT)   KSol/S(avg)   FoundBlocks   LocalWork   Utility   WU           BestShare

Watch your frequencies -- it auto-adjusts. Will be interesting to see how/where it stabilizes. It is not clear to me if it continually adjusts frequencies or if it settles.

-j

All 4 have been running for about 3.5 hours and averaging about 140 KSol/S each.  So far, 2 of them have dropped the freq on one chain to 724.

Chain#   ASIC#   Frequency   KSol/S(RT)   HW   Temp(PCB)   Temp(Chip)   ASIC status
1           3           731           49.64           8      59                   80                   ooo
2           3           724           43.90           357   59                   81                   ooo
3           3           731           47.01           634   58                   79                   ooo

A side question: how loud is it?

Thanks!

7 or 8 on my Fender amp  Smiley

They are pulling 7.1 amps each at 208 volts.  That is 1477 watts.  Think about 4 z9 minis running. To get rid of all that heat, you need a lot of fan and there are only 2 of them on each z11.

Interesting these are actually clocking hardware errors.

Would you be willing to send me a copy of the system log from one of your z11s? If so, I will provide you an email address.

I’m hoping having some log contest will help with understanding some of what they have implemented in my reverse engineering efforts.

I can generate an image that provides the same control as my Z9 and mini variants (ie manual control over each hashboard), but I would have to disable auto tuning on an initial release with the information I have so far... and who knows if more can be squeezed out of these things...

Thank you,

Jason

Sure.  PM sent.

First batch of Z11 has shipped.  Fedex tracking shows delivery on Monday but I am guessing there will be a few days delay for US customs to do their damage.

Aye, https://blog.bitmain.com/en/z11-shipping/2019-04-11.html and https://blog.bitmain.com/en/z11-shipping/2019-04-12.html

The date spread on these two shipping days are odd for the orders... the first one covers 2 weeks but is "only" 124 orders. Day 2 is 10 orders over right at 2 weeks also.

-j

It also does not say how many units per order.  My order was either 48, 49, or 50.  Payments all arrived at exactly the same time for these three orders.  My order was for 4 units.

Hashrate: 135KSol/s
Reference power on wall: Watt 1418

Antminer Z11 uses Bitmain’s latest proprietary 12nm chip, which is made using advanced Bare Die molding technology for better heat dissipation.
Its hashing power of 135 KSol/s, is three times more powerful than that of the Antminer Z9

Shipping date: Apr.20-30,2019

$1336.00 USD    No coupons allowed on the first batch.

You will need an ATX PSU with sufficient 7 six-pin PCIE connectors. Bitmain recommends the APW7 to power the Antminer Z11

For this batch, if delivery to US, according to the NY ruling N297495 ,mining machine is classified under 8543.70.9960

Why are people buying these cards? Aren't the only ones who make money the ones who develop their own bitstreams? Feels like eating very expensive leftovers.

We bought them 5 or 6 months ago when the return showed more promise. The problem is that they are just getting delivered now in a way down market.

Their web site also shows shipped.  Fedex tracking shows Wednesday delivery.

Mineority couldn't make it. Sorry for anyone that signed with them.

Squirrels, FPGA.land, Zetheron will be next. They are all connected.

Anyone that hasn't got their refund for the 1525's, better hurry. They all are probably bleeding out.

Too bad the little guys can't compete with Bitmain, etc. Check out the F1 FPGA miners. Clearly looks like Bitmain.

12 algos to choose from....not waiting on 1 dude to come out with a stream at double the price for a unit.
From the discord most of the BCUs got shipped, so I don't understand that sensence about refunds...

Hmmm. I'm not reading discord.  But they haven't shipped my order from June 7th yet.  Originally supposed to ship in September.  Guess I'm not part of the "most" group.

Just got my 2 BCU's.  Also ordered early in June, but opted for the waterblock version, not realizing what a delay that might cause.  So thank you Senseless, this wasn't a scam, didn't think it ever was.  I am going to say that FPGALand/Mineority/AllMine/Squirrels back and forth got very confusing.  Customers want to deal with one face, one company.

I have 4 on order with no special cooling.  It sounds like Senseless is supporting customers much better than SQRL.  I have asked several times and they are always waiting for Xilinx to ship.  Sad
