Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System

Are there any planned changes coming for the power limit configuration? This might be the one reason I switch back to Windows as my rigs now each use around 200W more than windows.

RX 580 4GB is having issues. Anything under power limit/stage 4 gives terrible hashrate and some cards stop mining.

I'm having the same issues. Nvidia works perfectly with the power limit per card, AMD should have a similar feature, the power control over AMD is VERY poor on simpleMining.

GPU mining will last as long as there will be crypto-currencies.

Correction: GPU mining will last as long as there will be PoW crypto-currencies without ASICs, which is NOT the most wanted choice for future currencies.

Most new coins are moving away from PoW, so probably the party won't last long. When Ethereum goes PoS everyone will switch to smaller coins, making none of them profitable. There's won't be big new coins to replace Ethereum.

but i think when they switch to smaller coins ,the price of smaller coins will rise.

Mining raises coin offer, lots of new people trying to sell, same people trying to buy. How is that going to rise the price? Market logic says mining will tank the diminish value by raising offer without raising demand.

Is it sure that by reducing DPM Levels Vcore is decreased for all GPU brands?

Is there a way to check reported voltage with software?

DPM does nothing to vcore, doesn't matter the brand.

Does it support Claymore dual mining? I don't think there's anything more profitable than that right now and if it's not included .... all you gonna do is earn less than it all the time.

GUYS SOLUTION!!!

I've been sitting here and try to get this dumb piece of sh*t to work for almost 3 days now.

So here it is:

All you have to do is download Bios v0808 that has been released 23.06.17. Put it on a USB stick which is formated with fat 32 (internet update didn't work with me for some reason)

 - Remove all Cards/ Risers, plug in your USB Stick with the Bios on it. Plug in your HDMI Cable to the motherboard.

 - Boot

 - While booting express your rage by hiting that mf*cking f2 key several times to enter the Bios.

 - After entering the Bios, press F7 and navigate to Tools

 - Open EZflash and choose Upgrade from Storage. Update your Bios to Version 0808.

 - Reboot while pressing F2 several times again to Enter BIOS

 - Press F7

 - Go Advanced ----> System Agent (SA) Configuration ----> Enable "Above 4 G Decoding"

(DMI/OPI CONFIGURATION --->DMI MAX LINK SPEED will stay at AUTO! Dont change these..)

(PEG PORT CONFIGURATION ---> PCIEX16_1 LINK SPEED will stay at AUTO ! Dont change these..)

 - Go back to Advanced, then PCH CONFIGUTATION ---> PCI Express Configuration----> change PCIe Speed to "GEN1"

That should do it!

Some other usefull stuff:

 - Advanced ---> APM Configuration ---> change Restore AC Power Loss to "Power ON" (Rig goes on as soon as PSU delivers Power, no need to press on button or short pins)
 - Boot---> Next Boot after AC Power Loss, change to "Fast Boot" (boots faster)
 - Boot---> Boot configuration ---> Post Delay Time, change to 0 sec (for no Post delay, in Case miner restarts.)

When done in BIOS, Press F10, Save and reboot.

prey.

Hope this helps... ASUS PEOPLE, YOU DIDNT MAKE THIS EASY FOR US

Mine worked yesterday by plugging in 5 cards, disabling 4g, booting windows (won't properly load more than 1 card), reset, enable 4g, profit. But it's very nice to know that there's another solution out there. Thanks for sharing.

All my PCI-E options set to Gen2, audio disabled.

Had 3 rigs running stable and smooth for a week. Had to move them. After the OS auto update they crash every 10 minutes. Please rollback the update or fix whatever is causing the problem.

2 are running Asus Prime Z270-P, 1 is running ASRock Z270 Killer. All of them are running RX580s.

Are you using modded BIOSes? Ethereum is crowded with Polaris chips, zcash might still be worth it for Nvidia cards.

I didn't know you could BIOS mod NVIDIA. Can you point me out to where you found that information?

Hey guys,

I got a 6x1070 ASUS DUAL and every experiment I did I came to the conclusion that dual mining Eth is always better than pure Zcash.

I can get 28 Etherum + 530 SIA on claymore 9.4 @ 140w under 70°. At that configuration I can get only 400 Zcash, which is way less lucrative.

Is anyone out there getting different numbers? Care to share you own experiences?

Re: What PSU is required for 1070?
by
rogeriosmorais
on 18/06/2017, 08:00:57 UTC
1070 cards have a 150 watts TDP , so for 6 cards + your system need min 150wx6= 900 watts + around 100 watts for ur cpu/mobo/hdd/mem , so your total system draw going to be around 1000 watts , if you know how to overclock and the same time undervolt your cards you will be ok with 1200 watts psu . I would not use 1000watts psu for ur setup...
Building mining rig to about 80-85 percent of a PSU's capacity is advisable to achieve maximum efficiency and stability .

If he runs at 60% TDP he won't be using more than 800w, so a PSU 1000w would be fine.

Also with oc and modded bios

There is no BIOS mod for NVIDIA.
