I don't understand the purpose of these USB miners.

They will never make ROI, plus don't they have to be controlled by a computer?

And how much power does that consume?

in fact, this is the only unit i have owned that make ROI.. not in mining, trading the hardware. selling these units was a great deal Smiley

i dont understand why they add this heatsink, i have 50 U1 and heat is not a problem at all
Because the U2 is intended to be overclockable out-of-the-box via software control.  Naturally, people will be trying this and, knowing nothing of how heat transfer works, would be running into issues with them overheating with the U1's thin plate heatsink.  I suspect you could still make the U2 overheat, too, anyway.

I figure if you've got 50 in one of those bulky USB hubs, a custom cooling solution is probably not out of reach if the physical dimensions throw a spanner into the operation.  Or just get another hub Wink

running 1.95 ghs on each, 10 pcs in each hub and 2 fans..

in my country i also get free cooling from outside.. Cheesy my basement is always cold, even with 50 antminers in the room. Smiley

Why spend money on design? put all money in performance, ROI is more important then design Wink

IF u sell these devices for 3 dollar then its a great deal Wink

Good game guys.
Probably the greatest ponzi ever to be created.

Satoshi Nakamoto is CEO of Mt Gox Mark Karpeles.

Create date of domain says nothing, if previous owner dropps the domain, often the registrar keeps it and new owner can buy it on auction.

Try find more info about bitcoin.org instead, this says nothing for me.

Using BFGMiner.

BFG miner is fine, but none of the u1's initialise.  Apparently they don't like being set up on the same machine etc etc.  Even though the WINUSB drivers go in fine.

I don't get it.  What's the latest on getting these little buggers to work together?

win or linux?

Any one interested can go ahead and visit kickstarter.com and see many projects get hundreds of thousands of dollars and even million$ Of funding, I don't see any reason why we can't so something similar for the bitcoin world.

It's even better for us because I can setup a site where we don't have to pay the fees to crowd funding sites and do it ourselves.

It it just me or I see real potential here?

you need to have an idea, present it in an video detailed with a working prototype. i think it is hard to do with a bitcoin chip

Selling these machines for 1.5 to 3 BTC is a great deal anyway and i think they want to cash home the money as fast as possible.
So i dont think they mine for themself, its to risky. i think its the same for almost all chinese manufacturers.

the US/EU manufacturers do i think mine for themself for some weeks..

Read this https://products.butterflylabs.com/homepage-new-products/1-gh-cloud-hosted-bitcoin-hashing-power.html
What do you think its time to switch from CEX.IO to butterfly labs?

BFL is the last company i could place my money at,

price at cex right now is 0.023, you can buy usb antminers that run at 2ghs for 0.044

or even better is the S1, with price/ghs at 0.008 at the moment.
