There are only 21 million total bitcoins that can be mined, what will happen if all bitcoin is already mined?
after 21 million coins exist the fees will drive the miners to keep on mining. Its the same as it is now. except since that btc will be scarcer than what it will be like in the future

Re: Reusing Bitcoin Core Blockchain with Bitcoin Cash wallet
@ranochigo: Thanks. This information is very useful.
Can I copy over the entire Bitcoin data directory from Bitcoin Core to Bitcoin ABC wallet and not just specific files from it? There are a lot of dat files inside the data directory and I'm assuming that they should be valid for Bitcoin ABC wallet as well?
Make sure that you dont mess with any of the files as you may corrupt the entire blockchain. Funny how BCH blockchain can now get 8X more larger that BTC blockchain moving forward.
Spheris is good to pick, but have a ton of supply it is like 2B coins. but the project is good. like the others their idea is good but don't know not all can be successed
The 2B coins doesnt relate to weather or not the project will be good or bad. Dogecoin has more that that and it managed to capture an audience which i would consider a success. i like the spheris project as well too and hope it turns out as a sucess.

I dont think the difficulty will change soon. but there will always be people who get free electricity and put htere miners in that area. Fo those people, they will be profitable all the way to the end.

It looks like the x16 is not plugged in to anything at all. there should be something there.I dont know why it doesnt work like that. It should in theory but this where things get tricky and you just kind of have to try different things until it works. I think you should still use the powered risers if you have them available. but this is where you end with an experimentation phase on things.
Do you huys have a updated road map for your journey? looks like it could get a bit bumpy in the future. Cool project. hope all works out well for you guys.
The ethos behind bitcoin is fantastic but their is a fatal flaw that is being highlighted at the moment and that is the difficulty. It only leads to one logical conclusion the centralisation of mining and transaction processing as that will be the only way you will be able to generate any coins.
ASICMiner has some problem at the moment and because they are so large it has impacted the entire network. If another big mining pool goes down we may be looking at 40 mins between blocks maybe even longer - transactions are not processed if no blocks are solved.
The whole resilience of the network is being brought into question here - If these guys go offline for what ever reason with the difficulty where it is now everything is going to grind to a halt. A couple of business should NOT have this impact on the network.
What are your thoughts on this?
And 1 year on from the original post the network has become more centralised.
